    Hi! I recently wanted to format my old MacBook air, and reinstall OS sierra. During recovery mode, in disk utility, I saw that after formatting Macintosh HD, there were like 40gb in use, by "other volumes". I thought that they were other users profile (I had 3 users active in the macbook) so I wanted to delete those as well. Using "view all" options, I just formatted the other volumes container. The thing is that after this, internal ssd is no longer displayed in disk utility. The "view all" option is no longer available. "Diskutil list" command in terminal doesn't show the ssd neither. I did a SMC and NVRAM reset and nothing changed. The ssd is ok, is not a hardware wise problem. Any thoughts? I'll leave a pic of the only thing i see when I open disk utility

    Just purchase and opened a 16 inch Macbook Pro, have had it charging for about 3 hours now but still getting the red low battery symbol and the macbook not starting up.

    Anyone have any idea what the issue might be?

    I just the macbook pro 14’’ m1 pro 16gb but only got about 5 hours of battery life (safari, word and excel). This to me is not better than Intel MBP at all. Apple claims 11 hrs of battery life for the M1 Pro. Do you guys get a better battery life?

    Alright so my MacBook Air will boot up when I spam the power, it will go to the login screen but I can't type anything. It then turns off after that. Some attempts the MacBook turns off almost immediately. What can I do?

    2021 MBP 14” vs 2021 MBA 13”

    I'm looking to purchase my first MacOS device, and I'm not sure which to go with between the 13" Air (M1) and the new 14" Pro (M1 Pro). For context, I'm going into my final semester of college as a CS major, and I've used Windows laptops exclusively up until now. I do most of my development in IntelliJ and VSCode, but I'm going to be taking an iOS development class which will of course involve xCode. I really like the display and additional ports on the Pro, but I like the portability and lower price of the Air.

    The options I'm currently considering are:

    MacBook Air 8 core CPU/GPU 16GB RAM 512 GB SSD $1,329 (plus cost of USB-C adapter for peripherals)

    MacBook Pro (14") 8 core CPU, 14 core GPU 16 GB RAM 512GB SSD $1,849

    Is the Pro worth the extra cash if I plan on keeping the device for years to come? Note: I'm fortunate enough to be in a position where I can afford the better hardware.

    m1 Macbook toggling refresh rate of external monitor

    I have been posting a bit today regarding color profiles and external monitors, due to my recent monitor purchase. I noticed there were times that the monitor would flicker, and it has started to take a toll on eye strain. Every time that happens though I also notice my display setting automatically switching to a variable 40-60 frame rate. Could that be a sign that the m1 macbook compatibility with certain external monitors ( dell ) is the problem and not the monitor itself?

    Hi, as of now im owning a 2010 13 macbook which is really slow for the pro tasks i do,

    video editing,photo editing,light games,audio editing.

    I have three options.

    either to get my 2011 15 logic board fixed for about a 100 bucks as it doesnt charge the battery and the gpu is dead (which has a very fast processor but a slow gpu which is about as fast as my 13 inch), OR get my 2009 15 inch logic board fixed, which needs new connectors for hdd and dvd and a new display connector which costs over 100 bucks (this board has a much slower cpu than in the 2011 but still way faster than my 13 inch, it also features a much faster gpu than both the 2011 and 2010 13.

    and the last option, is to buy a 2009 15 inch macbook pro logic board in an unknown state for about 60 bucks, so i can either get a fully functional one which would be great, or a dead one..

    I need help deciding please, i cannot afford a new macbook.

    Can I update my 2018 Air to Monterey?

    Went to update and it said not enough space, so I deleted all my programs and garage band and numbers and some other stuff I never use. I have more than enough space now (about 30gb, unfortunately I only have 100gb flash hard drive), but will updating try to reinstall garage band and all the other native apple apps and run out of room? Don't want to brick my MacBook.

    I keep getting this error message, anybody know how to deal with it? At first I just thought the internet was getting more censored but now I realize it's likely just something going on with my computer. I didn't download any anti-malware lol so no worries there. It's just weird because it started happening all of a sudden and it messes with my browsing abilities. Any help is appreciated!

    Use case: Xcode & Android development, some photo (Photoshop) and Video (Handbrake, Final Cut Pro) editing. I also will run Windows & Linux under Parallels. I usually have 100+ browser tabs open as well (Chrome+Firefox), and I will run 2 external 4K monitors.

    Prices are $3219 (Pro 16 GPU, 32Gb) , $3399 (Max 24, 32Gb) $3759 (Max24, 64Gb) and $3913 (Max32, 64Gb)

    I usually keep my laptop for 5+ years. Replacing a late 2013 MBP Retina. Budget is not tight but I don't like spending money unnecessarily. After watching virtually every video I am totally confused. Advice would be greatly appreciated!

    Ideas to position MacBook Pro as second screen

    Hi guys, thanks for all who gave input on what I should get to set up my WFH desktop with my M1 MacBook Pro 13 inch. I now have a question about positioning the MacBook Pro as a second screen.

    My intention is to make it a page where I receive messages [Whatsapp, iMessage, messenger etc]. So as to have may primary screen to be where I focus on my work.

    I find a problem with the way the MacBook pro's keyboard sticks out . The option is to place the keyboard further back and the screen as a result will be further back as well and I find myself squinting to see it.

    How can I find a more optimum set up? I wonder if I can set my MacBook Pro words to be magnified when plugged in and then to go back to normal when I'm using it without the desktop. Not sure if this is doable but open to suggestions.

    Ready to switch from a Dell to a new Mac Book pro 2020

    I am looking for a new laptop since my dell after two years is starting to fail me. I want to switch to a Mac ( my old 2011 still works) but my work is based on PowerPoint and teams. I present 150 days per year for 8 hours per day to people around the world. So if PowerPoint or teams work worse than my current dell then I will have made a very bad decision. So please share your thoughts for office 360 and especially PowerPoint and teams! I don't want to use the native solutions since my company forces us to use office!
