    My husband’s app assistant

    Posted: 14 Nov 2021 06:06 AM PST

My husband has become health-conscious since the pandemic started so he is also encouraging me to do the same. That's why all of our apps in our AW are mostly related to health and fitness. Just today he shared the feature he discovered in Product Hunt called "Task of the Day". Excited to see if he would be able to complete his first task so we can triple the points. He sticks to his routine and he is always working out everyday. He wanted me to be as dedicated as him when it comes to working out but sometimes I feel so lazy to get up that he needs to drag me out of the bed. And then I saw that the app is analyzing and giving insights to my body and even tracking my mood. I thought my husband was the one doing it to make me get up from the bed. Lol! It seems like my husband has found his new personal assistant that will monitor how active I am and I have no excuse since he will constantly be showing me the analysis of the app.
I hope you could also share what other fitness apps you use to keep you active and track your body's progress.

Dropped my series 7 titanium from 1.2m (3 feet) on the side. Swoop it off my locker in the gym unknowingly. Really impressed that there’s not a single scratch found and working well. Hopefully no lasting effect on the drop. Anyone dropped their AW before and suffered “side effect” in the long run?

Watch Calendar is absolutely the best calendar app I've found for my Apple Watch

    Posted: 14 Nov 2021 02:38 AM PST

I've tried using the standard calendar and the available complications, but I found them extremely lacking. I went and tried out the highly recommended Fantastical and a variety of other apps but I feel like I don't need and entirely new calendar, just something that pulls all the entries from the default calendar and will display them nicely on my watch.

Yesterday, I found the easily named Watch Calendar. I've no idea how this slipped through the net with such a name but it works exactly how anyone could need it. It syncs with any calendar you have linked to your default calendar, then lays it it super nice complications. The watch app is really nice to navigate and you can sync and show previous and future months calendar entries, rather than only the current week you're on. It's highly customisable with font sizing, complication layout and custom colours for just about everything.

I've found a small bug with All Day entries but the dev is really helpful and open to feedback. He's already looking into working on a fix for this. My current work around for this is just to unselect All Day and just enter a time (but in all honesty, I only selected All Day because I'm lazy).

I'm not being paid or sponsored to post this. As someone who relies on my calendar all day everyday, this app is what I've been looking for since I got my watch. I am just really happy it exists and I know many of you will appreciate. Please do give this little app a try. It doesn't cost much but is great value for money.

What’s everyone’s Apple Watch charging habits? My series 7 is coming tomorrow, I’m unsure whether I should charge it daily, or every few days when the battery is low. Which will maintain my battery health?

    Dead battery?

    Posted: 14 Nov 2021 07:40 AM PST

Battery health on series 6 one year old. Is this normal? All of a sudden the last 2 days my watch gets to 10% mid afternoon without any different use from before. Batter health is at 88%. I feel this isn’t normal?

S7/WOS8 brightness issue and battery drain

    Posted: 14 Nov 2021 07:09 AM PST

I came from S4 GPS to S7 SS.

I have been using my S7 for more than a week now. The battery life difference better S4 and S7 is quite noticeable.

I have turned off everything I can on my S7 except AOD as it is one of the reasons I upgraded.

But lately I have noticed there seem to be a brightness issue on my S7 where sometimes the screen brightness is very high (even higher than the highest level in setting). I always use the lowest setting so there is no way this should happen at all. I don't know whether this is related to S7 or WOS8, but I never noticed this in my AW4/WOS8.

    Any thoughts or similar experience?

Is apple watch series 7 45mm too big for a woman?

    Posted: 14 Nov 2021 07:03 AM PST

I am not petite but my wrist is slender. I used to wear those big chunky gshock watches and I'm fine with it but the apple watch is not cheap so I want to make sure I buy the right size. I am planning to order the starlight one next week.

Apple Watch & iPhone Mag Safe Charging Station

Apple Watch & iPhone Mag Safe Charging Station

Hey guys, I'm trying to find a nice looking charging station for my Apple Watch and iPhone. I wanted something that is a bit modern and trendy, and allows both products to lay flat down. A lot of what I'm seeing online stands the products up, and are very tech-inspired. Something like the one attached is what I'm looking for, but wanted to see if you guys had any other suggestions before I jump to buy this one.

Focus mode feature missing from WatchOS 8?

    Posted: 14 Nov 2021 06:52 AM PST

In WatchOS 7 I could set do not disturb "until end of event" during event on my calendar. My iPhone still has this feature in IOS 15, but it seems that WatchOS 8 doesn't have this feature.

Has anyone else experienced this, or am I missing a setting somewhere?

Do I need to spend money on a sleep app with Apple Watch SE?

    Posted: 14 Nov 2021 07:59 AM PST

I see a lot of sleep apps that sync with the Apple Watch but you need to pay monthly. I also know that the health app built into the iPhone records your sleep. Is this necessary to use an additional app, or should I just stick with the health app?

    AW7 Sound notifications

    Posted: 14 Nov 2021 07:25 AM PST

I am very happy with my new AW7 (first AW ever). I use the device as an alarm clock in the morning. As I have trouble waking up, I have the alarm sound level set for almost maximum. Nevertheless, I am also a person that prefers his watch to stay rather silent throughout the day. It irritates me when the watch makes a sound of sent message or notification regarding my todays activities. Is there any way to silence other notifications and leave only alarm one on? I assume I can just put my watch into constant sleep/focus mode, but it would be preferable for me to just set it up via settings. Thanks!

SE vs Series 7 as first watch

    Posted: 14 Nov 2021 07:09 AM PST

Is SE still a good choice as first Apple watch? Would you still suggest it over series 7?

Il would like to buy an Apple watch to be able to unlock my iPhone with mask, for notifications and to check the time. I'm mostly concerned about missing the new design, faster charging and having a watch that is already one (two?) years old.

How does theatre mode on watch affect the iPhone?

    Posted: 14 Nov 2021 06:58 AM PST

When you put your Apple Watch on theatre mode, does it do anything to the iPhone? I know focus modes sync across devices, but since the iPhone doesn't have a theatre mode, will it also silence all incoming notifications as well as alarms?

I've tried it myself, but there seems to be no indication of any change on the iPhone…

    Spotify downloads not opening

    Posted: 13 Nov 2021 10:58 PM PST

I've downloaded Spotify onto my Apple Watch but when I go to open the download section it won't open and is instead stuck on loading. Any help and suggestions as to how to open the downloads would be appreciated.
