Weekly /r/iOSGaming Discussion - What have you been playing lately and what do you recommend? - June 29, 2020

    Posted: 28 Jun 2020 09:11 PM PDT

Please use this thread to discuss whatever iOS games you've been playing lately. They don't have to be new games, they can be old games and they do not have to be iOS original titles!

As long as it's an iOS game it belongs in here. Make sure to put the name(s) of the game(s) in bold to make it easier for people skimming the thread to see what you're talking about, and if you'd like to make it really convenient turn the game name into a hyperlink that sends people directly to the App Store!

To keep track of the thread, the comments are sorted by "new" by default.

I budged and purchased Dead Cells. Been on the hunt for iPad Pro games and this one hit the spot. I’ve played for about an hour and my time has been...delightful?

The set of puzzles about secrets of the universe and terrible traps with a comic art style. The game I did for the last year.

Game looks super fun and would like to try it on my iPhone 8. How does it look/run on the smaller phones?

I'm mainly looking for one that's similar to this old game that I used to play, it was called Cause of death.

    Thanks guys!

What are the best survival games you’ve played on iOS?

    Posted: 28 Jun 2020 08:13 PM PDT

I'm looking for something similar to The Long Dark; more hardcore survival. I've tried a few and can't seem to find what I'm looking for. Open world would be nice however I'm really just wanting a game with tight mechanics and great gameplay. What have you played?

[Reminder] GRID: Autosport multiplayer beta is open for registration

    Posted: 28 Jun 2020 09:52 PM PDT

It's the best racing game on iOS. I've had some extremely fun online races recently and highly recommend people join the beta.

GRID requiring DLC updates every launch

    Posted: 28 Jun 2020 08:38 PM PDT

Every time I launch GRID on either of my devices (iPad and iPhone) it downloads "updated DLC" totaling around 1.7 GB. This happens every time I launch the app no matter what. The DLC always installs, and the next time I launch the app it always demands to download again. Really annoying and consumes bandwidth. Has anyone else ever seen this problem?

RPGs where there’s some semblance of a plot and you can romance NPCs

    Posted: 28 Jun 2020 01:22 PM PDT

Basically something like Dragon Raja except the plot makes sense and you can be a simp for NPC's lol

I quite liked the detailed customisation of the characters but it's not entirely necessary that I need that in the game, but at the very least being able to choose the gender of the character would be nice. DR had fantastic graphics, but (idk if it's just me) the story had plot holes and there was so much information missing (or maybe I needed to play to get to a higher level for it all to bind together). The MC also had no impact on the plot at all, the character could be replaced by a moving can of paint and nothing would change. It doesn't need to include romance, perse, but it'd be nice if the playable character made genuine relationships with the NPCs, instead of just being inserted into the universe.

Other IOS games that I've played and enjoyed - Stardew Valley - Sims - Last day on earth (sometimes it's just nice to shoot stuff) - Dream house days

Am quite new to the IOS gaming club, so I don't really know if I am asking for too much or where else to find what I am looking aside from sifting through the AppStore.

    Thank you for your time!

    Edit: english is hard

Really liked juicy realm and how it handles rouge and twin stick. Any other games I should get or look out for? I've played soul knight already
