Posted: 11 Aug 2021 03:02 AM PDT I was playing a few games on apple TV when i realized that they do not have the new items whatsoever in recent updates, and every time i go to app store there's no option to update. Is there any other way to get them to update? Auto update is on btw. [link] [comments] |
Netflix audio languages on AppleTV app differ from browser... Posted: 10 Aug 2021 11:04 AM PDT I have two fully updated AppleTVs, second most recent models, that have fewer language options than Netflix via Mac Mini M1/browser. For example, Israeli series Hit & Run... On AppleTV, three days ago, it offered an English (Dubbed) audio track. Now, it only offers a mixed Hebrew/English audio track on AppleTV, while the full English dubbed version is available through a browser on my Mini. Spanish, French, German, etc are all available on both, it's just the English (Dubbed) that's missing. Not really looking to do it via AirPlay from the Mini. Any ideas? [link] [comments] |

LG C1: Very confused about 4K Dolby Vision vs the other options Posted: 10 Aug 2021 03:41 PM PDT Ok so my TV (LG C1) apparently supports Dolby Vision, and that's what I've currently set it as. Why do I keep seeing threads and discussions where people are still recommending that I set it to 4K SDR with the range/framerate matching options turned on instead? What is the benefit of doing this over just using the 4K Dolby Vision if my TV supports it? Can't seem to find a clear answer. Any helps appreciated! Thanks in advance. [link] [comments] |
YouTube movies not playing, everything else is fine Posted: 10 Aug 2021 08:53 PM PDT Hello! Two days ago I left the wasteland of Roku players and entered into the Apple TV world. It's my first Apple device ever as I'm fairly well entrenched in the Android ecosystem. This means all my movies that I've bought should be accessable from the YouTube app with the one exception of them not playing on my shiney, new Apple TV. The error I'm getting is, "Sorry, there was an error licencing this video.'' Regular YT videos play just fine. In fact, a couple of my purchased movies DID play but none of the others. Currently, the ATV is connected to a Samsung HW-950A which is connected to a Samsung Q80R. I thought it might be a HDCP issue, so, I connected the ATV directly to the TV and just used the ARC for sound. It didn't remedy the issue (also the sound was not great because the Q80R is a bit old and doesn't have eARC, anyway....) I rebooted the ATV multiple times, force closed the app, uninstalled and reinstalled twice, and signed in using my username and PW as well as signing in using the YT app on my phone. Still, no dice. I'm hoping someone here might have a suggestion of what the problem is or another suggestion to make things work. Thanks! [link] [comments] |
No Captions/subtitles on Joe Bell movie on iTunes. Posted: 10 Aug 2021 07:47 PM PDT I purchased Joe Bell today and there is no option for the closed captions. I've tried it on my new Apple TV 4K, my iphones and still no luck. The movie has the CC icon next to it and says it includes them but there not there. Anyone else who's bought the movie having this issue? Thanks [link] [comments] |
HBO Max always turns on subtitles Posted: 10 Aug 2021 03:58 PM PDT Anyone else experiencing this? Any time I play something in the HBO Max app subtitles come on. If I turn them off, then play something else they come back on. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 10 Aug 2021 07:48 AM PDT Hi guys. My ATV keeps lagging/blacking out. - the signal drops out for 1-10 seconds. Sometimes it helps to reset it (pressing home and menu). I have tried changing HDMI cables, to the cables that Apple recommends on their site. It helped for a couple of days, then it came back again with the lagging/signal drop/blacking out. Does anybody know what causes this? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 10 Aug 2021 03:08 PM PDT Just bought an Apple TV, super excited. The remote works fine, however the volume buttons also seem to work as navigation buttons. What is that about? Every time I shift the volume down, the "cursor" moves with it, shifting the interface. Can I make that stop? Thanks in advance. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 10 Aug 2021 02:01 PM PDT I've found myself app switching a lot and with match framerate on the black screen is getting annoying every time. My question is if I turn it off should I set the framerate to 59.94 or 60 to work with the most content? My oled tv can remove the 3:2 pulldown so not concerned about that. [link] [comments] |
AppleTv half of the screen stuttering Posted: 10 Aug 2021 01:37 PM PDT Hi guys, For my birthday I got an AppleTv 4K (the new one) and I love it, except for this one annoying thing. Sometimes the half of the screen stutters really bad to the point where it's so annoying I just go and watch the movie on my phone. So the left side is stuttering and the right side is perfectly fine. Sometimes it just goes away and everything is fine and other times even a restart doesn't help. I also reset it once and also doesn't seem to help. Any ideas on what might be happening? [link] [comments] |
Volume control on AppleTV app for Android TV Posted: 10 Aug 2021 12:15 PM PDT Hello, all! I'm using the Apple TV app on my Xiaomi Mi Box S (an Android TV box), and it works great except for one annoying "feature." Unlike any other streaming app I've used on the Mi Box, the unit's volume control doesn't work *at all* while playing a show. It works within the Apple TV app, just not while streaming. Works fine on all others, including Netflix, YouTube, Pluto TV, and others. Is this intended behavior, or is it a bug I should report somewhere? Anyone else having this issue and, if so, have you been able to fix it? It's especially annoying to me since (a) I used fixed volume out from my TV into my stereo, and (b) my stereo receiver doesn't have a remote (it's a vintage Pioneer from 1979), so being able to control the volume via the Mi Box's remote is definitely a necessity. Thanks for any responses! [link] [comments] |
Remote & Screen Saver Questions Posted: 10 Aug 2021 11:58 AM PDT I recently got an Apple TV (the latest), and I have a couple of questions.
Thanks in advance for any helpful insight. [link] [comments] |
Dolby Atmos available but soundbar doesn't support it. Posted: 10 Aug 2021 07:24 AM PDT Wondering if anyone could better explain what's happening here: I have a Sony A8H that I have connected an AppleTV 4K to (newest edition). I have a Bose Soundbar 700 connected to the Sony via eARC. The Bose soundbar does not support Dolby Atmos; however, the AppleTV Netflix App shows that I am using Dolby Atmos on compatible content. When I use the native Sony TV Netflix App, it only shows 5.1 (which my soundbar is compatible with) on the same titles. Can anyone explain to me why this is? [link] [comments] |
