[Tutorial] How to install IPAs to your “unsupportable device” and make it supportable!

    Posted: 03 Dec 2019 08:47 PM PST

Requirements: Appsync Unified, zip and more stuff (I think). So just install Filza and you're fine. And of course, be jailbroken!

So I had this issue where I had a iPhone 6s and the app was working fine. App called Musi. Best thing ever. I ditched the iPhone 6s and moved to a refurbished iPhone X on 12.4 (very lucky, I know). This app was NOT installing for the life of me. Didn't know why. Maybe it got corrupted or just didn't work. A fellow user mentioned Ext3nder by JulioVerne. This great tweak helped me because it actually told me WHY it didn't installed. It was because the app didn't support iPhone X.

    Here's what I did:

    1) get the IPA/App

    2) extract it (press the IPA on Filza and click Extract or just make the Folder as .ZIP then Extract it)

    3) go to: /var/mobile/YOUR DIRECTORY/APP NAME/Payload/APPNAME.app/Info.plist

    photo of step 3

    4) on the .plist, scroll to the last part till you encounter UISupportedDevices

    photo of step 4

    5) in that Array, click on (i) and click Add item ...

photo of step 5 and 6

    6) add your device. In this case, I have a iPhone X so it's iPhone10,6 and write it where it says Value

    7) when finished up adding it, close it and save it

    8) go to: /var/mobile/DIRECTORY/APPNAME/Payload

    photo of step 8, 9, and 10

    9) on the Payload folder, click on Edit then Select folder then More and Create ZIP

    10) After creating ZIP, rename the extension to .IPA

    11) install it using Filza, ReProvision, AppInst, any method of installing these long gone apps from the App Store and voila! Installed!

    Proof!

[Discussion] Can someone explain Elcomsoft like i'm five?

    Posted: 03 Dec 2019 04:29 PM PST

From the article (and the posts comments) all i can tell is that this company has created a toolkit which if purchased or obtained allows someone to get most of any information stored digitally on any iphone that can be jailbroken by checkrain.

I'm mainly wondering how this effects the the normal consumer. Is this something only of concern to people with super sensitive information of illegal activity? Also, is this something anybody can buy and use, or really more of a tool for police/gov to obtain evidence highly illegal activities (or both)?

If so, How illegal are we talking? I guess its impossible for us to know but i'm wondering around where-ish the line is (like low level drug dealer or murderers haha).

Is this something that is done over the air (could a VPN effect anything) ? Is it something you'd have to do physically? (I saw a comment mention that the device may need to enter DFU mode for this to work)

Most people are saying there really is no defense to this besides that a longer device password may only slightly help, and that changing root password is irrelevant here. Are there any other means to minimize this security breach.

to sum it up i'm just wondering what (if anything) could or should average joe do, and how does that affect this average joe.

I did a quick search and browsed here, if this is something that's already posted or online somewhere i apologize, please just point me in the right direction.

    [Request] Nintendo apps bypass

    Posted: 03 Dec 2019 05:49 PM PST

I've been following every post about this since last year... still no solutions. But has anyone tried or got close to bypassing this because I just got a new phone but don't want to jailbreak because I play some of the Nintendo mobile games and don't want it to be blocked on my new phone if I jailbreak.

All I'm asking is to maybe focus on this. Would be appreciated a lot.

I don't know much about this since I haven't jailbroken my device recently. Will try to help as well.

    [Request] Christmas Tree Homescreen?

    Posted: 03 Dec 2019 01:47 PM PST

Is it possible to make the home screen into a Christmas Tree with the icons being ornaments? Also if you swiped to the next page the tree spun and the ornaments on the next page showed up with a jiggle or something lol. Not sure how it would all work but I just thought it'd be cool for Christmas.
