| macOS Mojave drains too much battery compared to High Sierra Posted: 15 Oct 2018 01:22 PM PDT Apple released macOS Mojave about 20 days ago and some users are experiencing dramatic battery life draining. The issue, as reported in the post on the Apple support website linked below, mostly concern old MacBooks. As for me, I bought the 2018 15" MacBook Pro a month ago and since I've updated to Mojave I noticed a slightly worse battery life, especially during standby. I still don't know whether or not Apple has officially addressed this issue, anyhow we should let them know about it. Posted: 16 Oct 2018 12:21 AM PDT Hey /r/macOS/ while I like the new and expanded features for the screenshot tool, I'm not a fan of the about 5 second delay that it takes for the files to appear on the Desktop. I know that I can dismiss it by dragging it to the right out of the screen. Still I'm wondering whether there is a way to decrease the delay. Saturday I tried MyDVD bundled with Roxio Toast, but it was not close to meeting any of my criteria. The one good thing I can say is it has auto-save. When an app crashes every few minutes, auto-save is essential. There are tons of DVD authoring apps in the Mac App Store, but the customer reviews suggest they're all similar in quality to Roxio's MyDVD. Before upgrading to Mojave, I was able to search for words or phrases in the Preview app and see the results and page numbers of those results on the lefthand sidebar with the Thumbnail view. This no longer works. Search results DO show up if I set the sidebar to "Table of Contents" view, however, I do not like this view and would prefer the Thumbnails view to work instead. I have googled but can't seem to find much information about this issue. I've also submitted a bug report to Apple. One thing I unsuccessfully tried is to move the com.apple.preview.plist file to the trash and reopen Preview, but it didn't work for me. Does anyone know how to fix this bug? [link] [comments]  | ||

Internet is perfect when the wireless headphone is not connected. As soon as the Sony MDR-ZX770BN headphone is connected internet slowdown significantly. I have tried these steps below - unfortunately it does not work, anyone here has this problem ?

| Safari blank page bug - extremely annoying, please help! Posted: 15 Oct 2018 11:13 AM PDT Hello! I have bought my Macbook Pro 2015 13 inch a while ago and it has been a great machine, I love it! It's the 16GB RAM, 512GB SSD and 2.9GHz i5 version and I am very happy for purchasing it. My favorite part is MacOS. Or... is it? Safari has been acting up ever since I bought it. When switching between tabs, they just go blank and there's nothing I can do. This happens every-single-day. Damn, I wouldn't be exaggerating if I'd say it happens every hour. It is extremely annoying. I have to restart Safari so the tabs go back to normal, or in some cases wait some time. I disabled every Safari extension - it still happens to me. I have deleted all the data from safari - it still happens. Do you guys have any idea of what could be causing this? Thanks a lot! TL;DR: Safari tabs going blank when switching between them. | How can I tell how much RAM I'm using? Posted: 15 Oct 2018 07:15 AM PDT I have Activity Monitor open and I see Physical, Used, Cached, Swap - Wired, App, Compressed... I'm at 6G now and just bought 6G more. So I'll have 12G DDR3 Triple Channel and I'm wondering how much of a difference it would make. Most of my work is Chrome and Xcode. I don't know how to tell how much ram is being swapped out or how often it swaps to disk or anything else. I know I'll find out when it gets here, but I'm trying to find out how to determine when memory gets short and swaps out. I do see the memory pressure and it's green and I get the yellow and red, but I'm looking for real numbers. [link] [comments]  | ||
| Posted: 15 Oct 2018 06:52 AM PDT I have MacBook pro, 2013 Says I have to update from OS 10 to OS 12. I hit updates and it tells me there is nothing to update. Could someone please give me a child's version, step by step what to do. Leave nothing out, as I only know the basics. I didnt have my mac updated (thought it happened automatically) when I connected my ipad, I'm certain this is the cause of my iPad freezing. I hadnt backed up my ipad for quite some time either (shame on me), and it froze on some window saying I have to restore it....I just can't do it. So it's sitting there, until I get brave. I appreciate you suggestions. Oh, ugh....I'm sorry but, I just need to give a blurt out on how much I love reddit! I'm on macOS Mojave, 2017 iMac 27 , videos don't load nor via Safari nor via Chrome.
