I've noticed ever since the update to IOS 12 that when I get a text it's almost as if it "echos". I'm using the "Popcorn" notification. Only issue I've noticed since I've had the phone. | Posted: 04 Oct 2018 09:44 AM PDT Anyone have any experiences dropping the phone with the case on? Does the bottom of the phone pick up a lot of scratches? I've always wanted one of the Apple leather cases but the cutout at the bottom concerns me. I don't drop my phone often, if ever at all, but since the phone is so expensive I just want to make sure I'm not risking anything. | Posted: 04 Oct 2018 12:46 PM PDT Hi Guys, I have a couple of questions regarding photo stream, icloud etc. I prefer to store my photos locally, and back them upto a different service than icloud. I have the 5gb free space on the cloud, but all the photos in my ipad took up a lot of space and now I'm not able to backup my ipad anymore. I turned off the icloud thing for photos a few weeks back, now it shows free space, but it still doesnt back up (saying no free space) I logged into icloud and I'm seeing a message saying, your photos will be kept for 4 more days. I tried deleting them manually but the delete button is greyed out. Can someone tell me how this actually works? I do not want to use the icloud feature, but I dont want to delete my local copies either. Any help is greatly appreciated. [link] [comments]  | ||

Put a case on it, didn't take the case on and off like I did with my last one, and been taking decent care of it. A few drops but this is from a few feet up, with a case on, and on carpet. But still ended up with scratches on the steel. I am guessing that this is from crumbs sneaking into my ESR Glass case and the crumbs moving around. I know it's pretty hard to maintain but do you guys have any case or skin recommendations take protects this area pretty well? [link] [comments]  | ||

| Posted: 04 Oct 2018 04:43 AM PDT I left the apple ecosystem early 2015 because my house was robbed while my drunk roommates were sleeping in the hall. Lost my 6+ and my macbook. Went to android and I thought I could manage there. I did manage there but in the 3 years since then, I went from getting a moto x style to a one plus 3t to a note 8. Couple of months back I picked up an iPad 2018. And I realised how much I missed ios. The walled garden is walled but damn it's smoother than whats on the outside. So I decided to get the xR. Figured the screen and the bezel won't bother me much. Turns out, I just might miss my oled panel. So I looked at the xs. It costs 1400usd for the base variant here. No dice. Can't spring up that much right now. Not interested in the xs max because I want to start using my phone with one hand again. So I thought.. IPhone x.. Funnily enough, a fresh piece costs 1200usd here. So I stated looking for used pieces, plenty are upgrading but the deals didn't seem worth it. 11months old.. 10 months old etc.. Finally I reached out to a friend of my best friend who is a apple reseller in our country. He got his hands on a 1 month old iPhone x yesterday. Silver, perfect condition, my friend is there with him to check it out later today. The quoted price - 850 usd. I'll get 400usd for my note 8. Which will set me back 450usd in total. What do you guys think? I need the butter smooth apple performance... A good camera while I'm travelling. And that this will last me for 2 yeses. | Posted: 04 Oct 2018 09:40 AM PDT So, Since yesterday after unplugging my phone in the morning to a full charge, every time I plug in my phone now, it wont charge past 8%. I checked my Battery Health and its at 94% and at Peak Performance Capability. I've used 4 different chargers, including a wireless charger, with no luck. It shows the charging lighting icon whenever I plug it in so I know the port works. Would anyone have any idea what the issue could be? Thanks. [link] [comments]  | ||

Posted: 04 Oct 2018 02:47 AM PDT Hey guys, I have been using high quality phones and screens for a while now, and until last year, once I got the iPhone X, I didn't have any problems with my eyesight. Absolutely nothing changed with my setup, I still have the same IPS monitor which I have been using for years, which I tested and it still works properly. I have my 15" MBP which I have been using for almost 4 years, also everything fine with it. Now, I am getting older, I'm going to be 31 now, with an almost 16 year long computer/gaming career behind me, but I'm still having a hard time in acknowledging that my age + screen time affected my eyesight, since the whole thing started last year once I got the iPhone X. I am aware of the PWM thing, I went through several tutorials on how to do it and tried everything which they suggested: https://gdgtpreview.com/2018/10/eyestrain-with-iphone-x-iphone-xs-and-iphone-xs-max/. With the tutorials and various "get a PWM Free Screen" articles I solved most of the issues, like migraines and having a foggy view after a few minutes of direct screen time on the iPhone, but my eyesight is still messy. Basically I'm having half of a day good eyesight, the other half bad one, sometimes it's such a mess that I can't read a font 10 article from one meter away. Did anyone else experience something like this, do you have any suggestions? I really don't want to get glasses since I have the feeling that it's just going to go downhill after that. Was hoping plugging it in to my macbook would allow me to do a factory restore, but sadly the macbook doesn't recognize the device. The iphone is on, and if it rings I can swipe and answer it. It is receiving messages, chiming when it starts charging, and vibrating lightly when I touch it after being dormant. But the screen just looks... off? Anyone who has had the case for a while, has it yellowed badly? Or has it been reasonable? I can deal with mild yellowing, but I saw one person on amazon who had a terrible looking case after 2 months (not sure how harsh he was on it though). Also, how is it when it comes to dust? I have the ultra hybrid and it fills with dust because of two little holes in the back of the case. Has this case been any better? I kinda want a clear case but don't want a repeat of the Ultra hybrid experience I had lol. And one last thing, could anyone who comments post some pictures of the case?
