| How to turn off autocorrect of company names and contact names? Posted: 03 Oct 2018 12:49 PM PDT iMessage has been doing this annoying as all hell thing for a while now. Company names—even basic nouns like Windows and Apple—get autocapitalized when used in a sentence. "Buy me an apple at the store" changes to "Buy me an Apple at the store." Sometimes a typo will autocorrect into a brand name, too. Contacts that I put in—even the ones with typos—get autocorrected in iMessage. I want this setting turned off. I want autocorrect for basic spelling issues. I don't want company names and my contact lists to slip into my private texts. This is some bullshit sneaky-ass advertising campaign, and I want no part in it. I have looked this up numerous times on google and through Apple's support site (which I find to be garbage often times), and I've seen no other complaints about this. I suspect it's just getting buried, or ignored, or one of Apple's frequent "Sorry, no can do" responses, so whoever could help me solve this annoying feature I'd appreciate it. (For a while I had my phone's autocorrect features appearing in Pages, and it took me a few months to figure that textedit was the culprit, which somehow had connected itself to my phone's settings. | Iphone 8 Plus people can't hear me during calls Posted: 03 Oct 2018 08:36 AM PDT I'm having a problem with my phone when I get calls or call someone they can't hear me. But it only happens when not on speaker. When I put it on speaker they hear me just fine. I have tested the bottom mic already with the voice memo and it works fine on there. So I don't know what is going on. Anybody that can help/ suggestions? [link] [comments]  |
