    It's so fucking annoying! Searching Reddit doesn't help because most support threads bear no relation to the problem being discussed inside it.

    Unc0ver comes with its fair share of stupid bugs. Updates to the tool successfully increase jailbreak success rate but there's little support for the bugs so far.

    Why is NewTerm 2 tanking my battery? My battery usage shows NewTerm gulped up 27% in 1 minute that I had it in the foreground! Even when I remove this tweak my phone is still hot.

    Why is iCleaner not showing daemons and preferences for my tweaks?

    Some tweaks just don't work. Is there a comparability issue here?

    I migrated from Electra to mitigate the battery draining issue but I'm not really seeing that much of an improvement with unc0ver either, ironically.

    [Release] unloadVSD - if you’re having random freezes or reboots on electra or unc0ver.

    This tweak is the same as the manual method I posted some time ago.

    It simply unloads Videosupscriptionsd which is the main cause for the random reboots/freezes.

    It has a "prerm" script so it'll revert everything back if you uninstall it.

    This is safe and doesn't touch any system files, as it only works while jailbroken.

    [Update] The unc0ver jailbreak has just been updated to RC7.

    It fixes various issues for 11.2.x users when try to try jailbreak. It also fixes the storage bug, where snapshots would fill the users storage.

    [Update]Local SSH Unc0ver support

    Hey guys, I just got Local SSH updated and onto chariz. If you don't know what Local SSH does, it allows you to SSH to localhost from your phone. This allows you to use App Store apps like terminus to run shell commands on your phone. Let me know what you think!

    Chariz is a default repo on both Unc0ver and Electra.

    [Tutorial] Creat a Backup with as Minimal Residual Jailbreak Files as Possible

    Hello everyone,
    I thought I'd share this method I used a while ago, to create a backup as clean as possible from jailbreak files.
    I tested this with my 6s+ on 10.1.1 and 7+ on 11.3.1, after using Cydia Eraser and Rollectra with data wipe respectivly. And after a fresh device setup and iCloud restore, I checked the aformentioned locations for the removed jailbreak files, and they were not there. (except for cydia files, because I had to rejailbreak to be able to ssh).
    I hope it helps someone, who likes me, prefers to restore a backup after restore/update/jailbreak cleaning, and not start from scratch.

    DISCLAIMER: By following this tutorial, you do so at your own risk. You acknowledge that I am not responsible for misuse of this guide or messing up your device.

    Prerequisites:

    •iCleanerPro from angelxwind repo
    •PC SSH Client (I use WinSCP)
    •Rollectra, ElectraRemover or Cydia Eraser depending on you iOS version (if you want to clean restore)

    Procedure:

    1. Open iCleaner and press the + sign and goto Launch Daemons, and make sure that all daemons are turned on if you have disable any in the past. Click Apply and respring.

    2. OPTIONAL, Go into cydia and remove Subtitute if you are on iOS 11, or Mobile Substrate if you are on iOS 10 and lower.
      -This step is optional, but I did it to make sure that all tweaks are removed, and non will create or write any more files/prefrences to the device.

    3. Open iCleaner again and press the + sign, this time goto to Preference files and delete all the preferences you find there.
      -I had an issue here on my 11.3.1 device, which, after removing Subtitute, iCleanerPro would not start. Going to Cydia and reinstalling iCleaner fixed it.

    4. SSH into your device using your prefered ssh client (I used WinSCP), and navigate to these files/folders and delete them:

    •/var/mobile/Documents/{any non apple folder here}
    -I had Flex folder here.

    •/var/mobile/Library/Application Support/{look for folders with tweak names here}
    -I had Flex3 and Goodges here (Backup Flex3 if you want to save your Flex 3 patches.

    •/var/mobile/Library/Cydia
    -I left this for last as I did not know if this will affect Cydia.

    •/var/mobile/Library/Filza

    •/var/mobile/Library/Flex3

    •/var/mobile/Library/iCleaner

    •/var/mobile/Library/Preferences/{double check that no tweak plist is still lurking here}
    -iCleaner will have cleaned all non apple plists but I just wanted to make sure.

    •/var/mobile/Library/SpringBoard/IconSupportState.plist
    -If you had any tweak that change homescreen layout.

    •/var/root/Library/Preferences/{there might be some tweaks plists here that iCleaner won't pick}
    -I had a couple of tweaks' plists here that did not appear in iCleaner, icleanerpro.plist, cocoatop.plist ad goodges.plist.

    -By now I have deleted most the jailbreak files that I know of that get backed up by iCloud (I have not tried iTunes but I think it will be the same).

    5.a - iOS11:
    -Goto settings > USER_ > iCloud > scroll down to the last section and disable any jailbreak related apps here. -Goto settings > USER_ > iCloud > Manage Storage > Backups > YOUR_DEVICE_NAME > turn off any jailbreak app/tweak if available

    5.b - iOS10 & lower:
    -Goto settings > iCloud > iCloud Drive > disable any jailbreak related apps here. -Goto settings > iCloud > Storage > Manage Storage > YOUR_DEVICE_NAME > turn off any jailbreak app/tweak if available

    6.a - iOS11, Goto Settings > USER_ > iCloud > Backup > press Back Up Now to force a clean iCloud Backup.

    6.b - iOS10 & lower, Goto settings > iCloud > Backup > press Back Up Now to force a clean iCloud Backup.

    6.c - if you prefer to back up with iTunes the use iTunes to back up now. I have not tested an iTunes backup but I strongly think that it will be clean too.

    -Now you have a 99% clean iCloud backup (iTunes if you prefered that), and you can procede to use Rollectra, ElectraRemover or Cydia Eraser, depending on firmware version, and restore your device to your current iOS version and start clean, and then restore your newly created backup if you prefer to.
    -If you have an A8 and lower device, you can use futurrestore to go/restore to iOS 11.3.1 and make use of this backup to start clean with all data restored. (provided you have 11.3.1 shsh2 blobs for your device)

    [Help] Switching from Electra to unc0ver RC7, tweaks aren't loading

    I decided to try out unc0ver RC7 and had no issues using the MP method and jailbroke on my first try. After reading many posts people say that the tweaks will be gone.

    Right after I jailbreak everything looks stock (meaning it looks like the tweaks are NOT loaded). I do NOT see tweak preferences however when I open up Cydia in the installed section I see all my prior tweaks when I was on Electra. Am I missing something?

    Do I delete all sources and reenter it and install the tweaks? I did try to go to INSTALLED tab and clicked on one of my tweaks and hit REINSTALL but that doesn't do anything. Sorry if I am not as advanced as you guys! Thanks in advance!

    I've come up with my first design mock-up of the OcarinaPasscode tweak idea.

    Question:

    Essentially, I have no idea how to program an iPhone tweak and I would like to start learning how. Would you kind knowledgeable folk be able to point me in the correct direction?

    ​

    Goal:

    - When pressing down on a button it will display their "highlight" color which you can view in the image above. When not pressed it will be their non-active color.

    - Arrow-button will be yellow when pressed, A-button will be a lighter-blue when pressed, forest-symbol will be green when pressed, fire-symbol will be red when pressed, water-symbol will be blue when pressed.

    - Essentially I want to be able to press a button and it will play the appropriate tune of the ocarina from Ocarina of Time or Majora's Mask.

    - The stone symbols will have their own tone/sfx as well.

    - Would love to be able to play Song of Storms when unlocking my phone ( A > ^ A > ^).

    The cool thing is that anyone would be able to play their favorite Zelda song if the SFX feature gets implemented.

    Secondary-Goal:

    - The little circles under the "Try Again" text, when pressing a button, it would be neat if it would show the symbol you used which would be similar to playing the actual Zelda game and playing an ocarina.

    - Change the "Touch ID or Enter Passcode" text to "Hey, Listen!".

    - A list of zelda songs in the app-settings for reference. (In-case if you forgot how to play that one song).

    - For Majora's Mask fans I might want to add in the mask-transformation instrument SFX as well. (Deku Horns, Goron Drums, Zora Guitar).

    As a temporary fix for personal use and possibly others:

    I do not know how to program a tweak (yet) but I am thinking about doing a hi-jacking of the tweak RomanPasscode's coding and replacing the text with a modified text-font file with these Zelda symbols instead; of course I would give full credit for the original programmer of the previously said tweak if I decide to give out the zelda-version of it.

    I would love it if you offer me some suggestions on how to improve the idea or anything I could add. :)

    [request] a tweak that reminds you to turn on WiFi, through a notification, when you start using YouTube

    Sometimes (actually so frequently that I can't believe I can't remember to check if my WiFi is on) I turn off my WiFi and forget to turn it back on when watching YouTube videos. I have an "unlimited" plan but my speeds go to 2g after 10gigs of usage, and even though I've only used all of my data once, I don't really want to chance using all of it.

    Hi, all the tweaks I had installed still appear in Cydia after switching from Electra to unc0ver RC7, but nothing works and in preferences I can't see any tweak configuration entry. Do you have any idea on what might have happened?

    I tried reinstalling some tweaks, and nothing works.

    The bottom of my screen is completely broken on my current 6s. I saw on at&t's website that i can pay off my phone and get a new one for $100. If I go into the AT&T store to upgrade, will they at all ask to see my current phone or deny me a new one if i'm jail broken? I have Electra installed, but I haven't done anything jailbreak related in months. Thanks in advance.

    [Discussion] Don’t pay attention to ‘You must use Rollectra’ comments/posts. It’s a choice not a necessity.

    Tested using an iphone 7 Plus,11.3.1. I have switched from Electra to unc0ver , without using Rollectra and there was absolutely no problem at all. Used unc0ver RC6 and got it in 3rd try. It has been 30+ hours and no freeze/crash occured. Using 50+ tweaks at the moment. The purpose of the post is to help you all know that it is not necessary to use Rollectra(though its best if you do but fine if you don't want to). As u/GeoSn0w said, you can switch easily.

    Note: *Tweaks are removed, but *Tweak preferences are conserved.However you will have to install each tweak again to have it appear in settings and get it functional. But due to preference files being not deleted, they will work out of the box with the setiings you previously choose without any need of setting them up again.

    P.S: Some people may think I am encouraging people to do this cuz it worked for me. That's not the case. I just want people to know that there is a choice available if they don't want to use rollectra. They can try first and if doesn't work then they can go for rollectra. I mainly put this post up because a lot of guides/Tips were posted in past 2 days and most of them never mentioned that you can switch without rollectra resulting in users using rollectra without even knowing that they can also switch without it.

    [Help] 33/48 on unc0ver RC7

    When I originally succeeded in jailbreaking my unc0ver from Electra, but on Cydia the Electra repos remained and there were a couple of errors. So I decided to restart and try restoring my RootFS, but now the jailbreaks always restarting at 33/48 "Your device will reboot". Any fix to this?

    Error for reference or alternative help :D
