Keychain option greyed out in iCloud Preferences Posted: 25 Jan 2018 02:44 PM PST I am not sure what to do to be able to enable this, I've tried logging out and back into my Apple Id, but that doesn't work. I've looked around online and cannot find another similar issue. Here's a screenshot - https://imgur.com/ZBU6rSI [link] [comments]
Which SQL server do you use on high sierra? Posted: 25 Jan 2018 09:16 PM PST I tried installing latest version of MySQL (5.7.21) but I cannot start server from system preference and command line. Is there a way I can use MySQL on high sierra or any other SQL server. Thanks. [link] [comments]
Keyboard and trackpad freezes after installing cheap tablet software. Posted: 25 Jan 2018 03:57 PM PST (late 2013 OS Sierra 10.12.6) So I installed a Huion tablet driver software on Tuesday evening and everything went fine afterward. However, yesterday afternoon I began to experience my keyboard and trackpad freezing up. After resetting the SMC and NVRAM multiple times, the problem still persists. I've uninstalled the driver software but the problem still persists. I'm creating this post in my OS Safe Mode, which seems to make things fine. Anyone have any idea of what might be happening? Removing Shutdown and Sleep from menu on macOS Sierra Posted: 25 Jan 2018 10:15 AM PST Looking for advice on how to restrict or remove the Shutdown and Sleep menu entries for macOS Sierra. We want to block this on a public computer. Only stuff on the Internet is old and no longer applicable. Thanks. [link] [comments]

Unlinking Finder icon representation and the application which opens that file Posted: 25 Jan 2018 06:45 AM PST Hi, I have a file (or better say, file type). Finder & Preview by default display the icon of that file type correctly. I then install software which is used to edit that file type. That software's capabilities then overtake Finder and do something messy with how the icon is displayed in Finder and Preview. So, is there a way to unlink the two. Have that software open that file type, but, have default Finder's way to represent the icon? [link] [comments]
Posted: 25 Jan 2018 09:28 AM PST Hello, I have a late 2013 MacBook pro retina and I keep my system up to date. I noticed that there is this I did some searches online and I was incredibly frustrated by finding quite a few threads over the last few years in the Apple's forums by people reporting high CPU/memory usage for that process. Usually these threads are answered by someone asking the OP to run some command or rebooting into safe mode and then they go without any response after the OP does as requested and reports his/her findings. I also found some guy who explains how to disable this on El Captain but I am not sure of what the consequences could be; I'm on Sierra at the moment so I am also not sure that this would work anyway. These are the links to this guides: https://havecamerawilltravel.com/photographer/prevent-photos-app-mac-osx https://apple.stackexchange.com/questions/258323/icdd-process-consuming-substantial-memory-on-macos I use the laptop for my work as a developer and this is really unnerving me recently as I noticed that it really slows down my IDE and my build tools. Has anyone here ever successfully dealt with this issue? [link] [comments] |
