You can now ask Siri if you just felt an earthquake around you. No more questioning of reality.

Just say "Was that an earthquake?" and Siri will show you any seismic activity around you from the past 72 hours.

Apple should let us choose which apps/things we want to have orientation locked.

    Posted: 25 Jan 2018 05:21 PM PST

I think it would be nice if we could choose which apps have orientation locks on. For example, leave Messages orientation locked while leaving photos unlocked. That way you don't have to keep switching back and forth. I just think it would be a subtle convenience.

So iOS 11.2.5 is the 10th update to iOS 11 and they still didn‘t fixed the not updating weather widget

    Posted: 26 Jan 2018 12:33 AM PST

... even if you open the weather app and then go back to the widget, it still is not updated. this is ridicolous and the web is full of people with the same problem. enabled location services „always" for the app, didn't changed at all...

    Screenshots

on the left you see the current weather in the app (08:53 a.m.) and on the right the widget, showing data from yesterday 04:00 p.m.

Are timers really difficult to code?

    Posted: 25 Jan 2018 07:14 PM PST

I mean. I'm timing my eggs and I put in a pizza. Is it unreasonable to have two timers going on a device practically equivalent to a laptop?

Up close with Apple HomePod, Siri’s expensive new home

    Posted: 25 Jan 2018 10:20 PM PST

Why hasn’t Apple taken on WiFi Mesh Networks (e.g. Eero) with either its AppleTV or the forthcoming HomePod?

    Posted: 25 Jan 2018 01:00 PM PST

I think there's an untapped opportunity (aka consumer problem) with great home WiFi. We see companies like Eero, Google, Luma, etc. tackling it.

Apple has phased out Airports. Have they left this segment or will we see a new product - standalone or incorporated into another?

I find it tough rationalize the HomePod price (next to Sonos) or the need to upgrade AppleTVs. Adding in a WiFi Mesh feature would definitely tip the scales in Apple's favor, and justify multiple said-units in my household.

    Thoughts?
