| 2021 16” MBP battery life is insane Posted: 10 Nov 2021 11:10 PM PST I knew Apple was saying that this was the best battery life on a MacBook ever, but it's honestly been crazy. I did turn on low power mode for the first time though with this device so it's like doubly amazing me. Anyway, I just put on a Netflix movie at FULL BRIGHTNESS, and over the hour and a half that it took, my battery only dropped from 81% to 73%. That's like 18+ hours if it goes linearly, which honestly just completely blows my mind. [link] [comments] | ||

| Macbook M1 Pro shift click stickiness on touch pad? Posted: 10 Nov 2021 05:21 PM PST Been using the new 14" M1 Pro for 3 days now, and every time I click, shift, then click again (to select several items), there's a chance that the second click is not detected. I have to wait 1 - 2 seconds for it to work again. I initially thought it was down to how hard I'm tapping (I use tap to click) but I've tried tapping harder and it still happens. I did not get this experience with any other Macbook Pro I've used in my lifetime (mid 2014, 2015, 2020). It is most noticeable in FCPX when selecting several clips, or in finder when selecting several files in list mode. I have also tried using a bluetooth mouse and this issue does not come up. It's definitely down to the touch pad not detecting my second tap. Has anyone else experienced this and is there a fix? I have tried changing speed of double-click but that doesn't make any difference. [link] [comments] | ||

I'm coming from an iPad Pro 2020, which I'm going to sell for $1400. I have the option to buying a Macbook air with an LG Ultra fine external monitor($2300) or I can buy the new Macbook Pro 14' by itself for ($2600) Which would be the better buy coming from the iPad Pro? The same audio file moved to my iPhone and played back sound pristine, and actually the microphone quality seems to be real good, it just doesn't sound like it when coming from the speakers. It doesn't happen that frequently yet, so I want to trade in ASAP in the hopes that they will not notice. What do you think? I got a call (calls come through on my macbook as well as my phone) and instead of the usual ring tone, my MacBook glitched the fuck out and made screaming robotic noises that only stopped when I closed my laptop.
