Voice Isolation for apps other than facetime Posted: 10 Nov 2021 10:55 PM PST The voice isolation is highly useful feature and I use it all the time. On ios/ipados the feature can be turned on on any voip apps (ms team, whatsapp calls, zoom, etc) However on macos, this feature seems only can be enabled in facetime app. On other apps the feature seems to be greyed out. Do the 3rd party apps needs to update their side to enable voice isolation feature? Or apple only allows the feature tp be enabled onlh for facetime calls in macos? [link] [comments]
MacOS Monterey Mid-2015 Macbook Pro Posted: 10 Nov 2021 10:10 PM PST Not worth updating to Monterey. They do not offer basically any of the new features. Not even low power mode. I reached out to Apple support chat and asked and they took forever to get to the bottom of it. Almost like theyre hiding it. But they do state it in the fine print that its mainly the 2016 models and newer. Mid-2015 is officially done being supported, in my opinion. [link] [comments]
How do you open an app in Japanese using the terminal on Big Sur? Posted: 10 Nov 2021 11:16 PM PST My previous solution, putting "LANG=ja_JP.UTF-8" before the start of the line's run command, isn't working, so I think the answer might have changed between Mojave (the most recent version I've successfully done this on) and Big Sur. Posted: 11 Nov 2021 01:43 AM PST How do I disable focus and DnD? It seems like it's one or the other. Customizing it didn't work. I am trying to get alert tones notification on apps but I don't get them anymore because of Monterey update. And yes notifications are turned on all the apps I use. I get banner notification but that's about it. [link] [comments]
Picture in Picture Mode - Why doesn't macOS still have a keyboard shortcut for it? Posted: 11 Nov 2021 01:24 AM PST I use the Picture in Picture mode almost every day to have a podcast playing in one corner of the screen while I work on something else, or watch a tutorial on the side and work on your own project. It's so painful to have to lift your fingers from your keyboard, point somewhere in the video, right click and press "Enter Picture in Picture" every single time. I would imagine Apple to have already thought of this before, but if someone from Apple is watching, better late than never? 👀 [link] [comments]

Any music producers in here? MBP M1 Posted: 10 Nov 2021 01:13 PM PST What are your go to plugins that are currently compatible? What do I need to know? Currently installed copy of FL and downloaded 90 day Logic Demo. Also do I not need drivers for my interface? Ni Kk M32 keyboard as well. Thanks [link] [comments]
Posted: 11 Nov 2021 12:56 AM PST Hi all .. I've got one of those ergo mice lately, I've been struggling a bit with it, since I've been using gestures on the trackpad (desktops navigation, open apps view, back and front browser navigation, and others), moving to a mouse makes things a bit awkward for me. Is there any alternatives by a combination between mouse+keyboard, that achieve the same effects as the trackpad gestures? I tried keyboard shortcuts, but it isn't convenient, having to switch to keyboard to switch desktops (with both hands), and then back to mouse is very annoying to me. [link] [comments]

2020 Intel MBP randomly hangs and logs user out. Posted: 10 Nov 2021 06:24 PM PST I'm in the midst of random browsing and my screen hangs for a few seconds (audio is still playing). After the hang, my 2020 Intel MBP crashed and I'm on the user login screen. Gotta login again and reload all my windows. This only happens after I updated to Monterey. Could this be a bug? Appreciate it if anyone knowledgeable enough could advice! [link] [comments]

Web app command keys stop working in Safari Posted: 10 Nov 2021 06:45 PM PST I have an M1 MacBook Air running Monterey, but I've seen this problem with prior OS versions. After some period of time, command keys assigned to web apps cease to work. For example, command-I in the gmail text editor no longer toggles italic, and instead triggers Safari's native Share > Email this Page feature, which launches the native Mail app. I've also noticed that dynamic spell check stops working over time as well. I've observed this in Google and Microsoft web apps such as gmail, outlook.com, etc. The only way to fix this is kill safari and start it again. Anyone else see this? [link] [comments]
What is memory bandwidth and why should we care? Posted: 10 Nov 2021 10:34 AM PST new m1 max has this marketed to us. why is it important to have 400 Gb/sec bandwidth ? would it let us process video projects without maxing out CPU and GPU ? is this the frame buffer speed? [link] [comments]
Anyone know how to redirect safari mail icon? Posted: 10 Nov 2021 06:07 PM PST I am on Catalina. In safari, I added the mail icon in browser. When I click on the icon, it opens up gmail in Edge. How do I have it open gmail within the safari browser? I searched but only thing that comes up is for the Mac "mail app" only. anyone in my shoe? edit - I don't want to use the apple mail app for gmail, only within browser for gmail. see below for pic [link] [comments]

Looking for MacOS Big Sur Installer file Posted: 10 Nov 2021 03:00 PM PST Hey all, Can anyone hook me up with a Big Sur installer file? I cannot for the life of me find it anywhere. I tried the official apple website but all the links to older OS installers seem broken :( I also tried the terminal command line but it only gives me Moneterey even when I try it on a computer with Big Sur installed. Any help would be great! [link] [comments]
Over 100 GBs of untouchable "System Data" Posted: 10 Nov 2021 04:03 PM PST Caption says it all. I have over 100 GBs of untouchable data on my drive. I have tried Parallels Toolbox and Clean my Mac (The trials) with little success at cleaning more than 5 GBs of it. Does anyone have any advice? Because my next step is resetting it and starting from scratch. Thanks [link] [comments]
"Automatically hide and show the menu bar in full screen", am I missing something? Posted: 10 Nov 2021 04:00 PM PST Trying out this feature in full screen mode and I must be missing something because I see absolutely no visual difference between regular mode + visible menu bar versus full screen mode + deselecting "Automatically hide and show the menu bar in full screen" where the menu bar stays visible in full screen mode? Can someone point out what I'm missing? [link] [comments]
High battery usage of Spotlight Posted: 10 Nov 2021 07:15 AM PST I have MacBook Air M1 base model. Im in Monterey for two weeks. After update, Spotlight started to use battery much than BigSur. Whenever i click battery icon, i see info about Spotlight uses a lot of energy. [link] [comments] |
