Why is the podcast app worse on 15.1 than on 15.0? Posted: 06 Nov 2021 11:51 AM PDT Hi all, I updated to ios 15.1 when it just came out and while I had a pretty decent experience overall, the podcast app seems to be WAY worse than it was on 15.0. The biggest thing is that when I play a station I made, it plays other episodes I don't want to be played. Is there a workaround or am I just being dumb? [link] [comments]
Multiple Wallpaper Selections on Different Pages Posted: 07 Nov 2021 03:52 AM PST One thing I would love to see is the ability to have different wallpapers on different pages. I think it would be pretty cool to have a certain wallpaper for travel and another for entertainment. Not sure how this could be implemented, but it would let users customize their phones even more. What do you think? [link] [comments]
Posted: 07 Nov 2021 07:07 AM PST Hi, sometimes I've noticed when filling in forms where I have to add my number. Auto fill will pop up with a phone number I don't recognise that isn't mine, nor anyone's in my contacts. I've noticed this number has popped up before on my other old iPhone and now my current (both have different iClouds). Makes me paranoid but I'm usually an other thinker. So just wondering if anyone knows what's going on and why it's suddenly popped up? And how it could be fixed/made sure nothing dodgy is going on? Should I call the number at one point and see who picks up? Thanks! (Hopefully this is the correct sub, let me know if not) [link] [comments]
will apps still install after factory resetting iPad running iOS 9.3? Posted: 07 Nov 2021 06:57 AM PST so a member of my family has an old iPad she only uses to play one specific game. this game is only available on the App Store, and since all her other tech is Android, she doesn't think it's worthwhile to buy a whole new iPad for ~$300. since it's so old she's was going to factory reset it to see if that would speed it up a little, since the other things she's tried (deleting/transferring photos/videos, deleting all audio libraries, etc) haven't really done much, however, while she was researching she found several articles that drove her to the conclusion that she wouldn't be able to download any apps at all, after the factory reset. I know a little about technology and so does she, but neither of us knows enough to be able to guess if this sounds right or not, so I thought I'd ask you all since you're probably much more knowledgeable than we are in this field. any/all advice is appreciated, and I'm happy to give you more info if need be. Did I lose the possibility to make a PDF straight from a Safari page? Posted: 07 Nov 2021 06:37 AM PST I'm using a iPhone 12 Pro with iOS 15.1 and when I tried to make a PDF from a Safari page, there was no choice wether I wanted a screen shot or a scrolling screen shot, saving it as a PDF. I know it worked before so when did I lose this possibility? It still does work on my iPad, BTW. [link] [comments]
Apple News Widget Not Taking Me To Selected Story Posted: 07 Nov 2021 06:26 AM PST Is anybody else having an issue where you tap on the specific story in the Apple news widget and it does not take you to that story unless you go back to the home screen and tap on it again? With iOS 14 the widget worked perfectly but now I'd say 85% of the time tapping a story just opens Apple News to the category but not the specific story. [link] [comments]
Posted: 07 Nov 2021 06:08 AM PST Hey, I'm looking for a way to encode my ProRes video when I want to just share it. I tried shortcuts but all it does is just copies and shares the same video. It doesn't encode. Is there any other way apart from using iMovie to convert something quickly to 1080p and share it? Thanks [link] [comments]
Posted: 06 Nov 2021 04:13 PM PDT I created a shared album with no invitees except for myself so that I have access to art I make on both my iPad and iPhone. I do it this way because I don't want to sync every single photo between devices; I just want to have access to these specific photos. Today, someone in my family (the family group creator) joined the shared album and started liking my photos, which I guess is fine but I didn't want anybody but me to have access to it at all. I did not invite them and they didn't even properly show up on the Invited Persons list. It was their name with my profile photo, and when I tapped on it it brought up my contact information and not theirs. How can I keep this from happening and if I can't, are there other built-in methods that allow me to share only specific albums through iCloud? [link] [comments]

App Store Blank Search Issue - Solution Posted: 07 Nov 2021 12:27 AM PDT Hi all, Today I came across the issue of trying to search on the app store on IOS 15.1 and it just returned a blank screen every time, I tried restarting my phone, the app, and a few other privacy settings recommended by other forums. I want to make this post because I got onto the support text line with Apple and found a solution that worked and hopefully someone will find this post if they have the same issue. What fixed the glitch was doing a full reset on my settings: Settings>General>Transfer or Reset iPhone>Reset>Reset All Settings. After rebooting the phone my app store was able to search again. Note: this method does not lose any of your data, however you do have to re-setup your faceID/touchID and your Apple Wallet needs to be setup again. (Text from Apple: This is what will happen. All of your email accounts will remain in tact, as well as any SMS text or iMessages. What this effectively does is to reset some of your Settings to factory default. It's not a complete removal of settings. It removes all of your preferences for Touch Id , Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Do No Disturb, Notifications, General, Sounds, Brightness & Wallpaper and Privacy. Touch ID will need to be setup again. ) Hope this helps! [link] [comments]
Posted: 07 Nov 2021 02:17 AM PST Good afternoon redditors, Is there a way to extend my iPhone screen to another iPhone, just like one can extend their mac screen through sidecar? It would be even cooler if this was cross platform, ie you could extend from android to iPhone and vice-versa. [link] [comments]
Posted: 07 Nov 2021 01:42 AM PST I've heard it mentioned a few times on this forum. What does it mean? Is it actually a thing? I updated my 13 Pro to iOS 15.1 a few days ago - should I expect worse battery life than normal for a little while? Edit: spelling [link] [comments]
[Bug] iOS 15.1 - iPhone 13 Pro Max - 30W Charging locks up Messages app Posted: 06 Nov 2021 06:17 PM PDT Anyone else notice on their 13 Pro Max (Could be on other phones as well, never noticed it on my 12 pro though), that when you plug it in to a 30W Charger it locks up the messages app even after unplugging. Reboot is required to receive notifications and open the app again. This happens to me every time, and I am using the Apple 30W box, along with the apple USBC>Lightning cable. [link] [comments]

Casting music/podcasts while playing mobile games. Posted: 06 Nov 2021 04:37 PM PDT I enjoy listening to podcasts or listen to music, and I always cast to my Citation One speaker. I also enjoy playing simple games on my phone while doing so. However when I do so, the game music/sounds are loud, and turning them down also turns down the music or podcast. Is there a way to separate these two, and let me change the volume of each individually? Or is there a way to mute all games automatically while keeping the sound on for the music/podcast? I know the latter at least is possible on android (I just switched to iPhone) and it's a feature I really liked. I know I can manually turn off the music on most games, but for one it's a bit of work when I hop between games often, and secondly I like to have a little game music when listening to podcasts if possible, just not as loud as it automatically is when casting audio. AirPods Pro spatial audio head tracking pop interrupting sounds Posted: 06 Nov 2021 10:06 PM PDT iOS 15.1 When I play music on Apple Music with spatial audio head track, or YouTube spatial use audio, I find that the audio would pop/interrupted multiple times, maybe it's readjusting where my head is? But this seems to happen less or not at all when Spatial audio is fixed and not head tracked. The audio continues but there's a pop sound. I also just got these AirPods Pro w MagSafe case so it wasn't the early batch w problems when it first came out [link] [comments]
Posted: 06 Nov 2021 09:58 PM PDT I've been thinking about how I often struggle to balance different parts of life (school, relationships, community involvement, work, creative expression, self-care and decompression time). I started imagining an app that worked on a rolling basis (maybe every 4-6 weeks instead of a calendar where things are arbitrarily divided) that had a battery/health bar for different parts of my life. That way I could check-in with myself, and reassess my priorities based on what I've been neglecting lately. That's kind of like a habit tracker, but a bit more general. Is there an app like that?
