    Hey /r/jailbreak, I wanted to do a test to see which jailbreak would be better for your system, so I made a clean installation of both Chimera and then unc0ver (Chimera 1.0.2, unc0ver 3.0.1) and then put them through a series of geekbench benchmarks to see if there were any system differences between the two. I was expecting one way or the other for there to be a large difference, but to my surprise the differences where all within the standard deviation of each other.

    The way I ran the benchmarks is as follows:

    • Restored to orig-fs
    • Installed the jailbreak
    • Updated the jailbreaks core packages
    • Installed Snowboard and mojito (So that both jailbreaks are running their tweak injection)
    • I then booted up geekbench and ran the Compute and CPU test. In between each test I waited 30 minutes to ensure the device had cooled down to room temperature (75F). (I will let if be known that chimera seemed to make my phone run more hot, but that may just be conjecture).
    • After running the Compute and CPU tests, I ran the battery test. The way the Geekbench battery test works is it runs the CPU up to max while keeping the screen on to simulate fully running the device. Once it gets to 0 the app saves the data right before the shutdown.

    This is just to prove that neither jailbreak really is better than the other. It really is mostly about your preference of package manager and how much you want OSS etc.

    Open newterm or a similar terminal, get root, and run ldrestart

    No need to reboot and go through the hassle of rejailbreaking.

    Found this to be consistently working for me.

    Hello /r/Jailbreak.

    I've been seeing lots of posts about people's opinions & needs with Sileo. You need to keep in mind the huge differences between Sileo & Cydia.

    It will take a long time until Sileo reaches stability, and we need to be patient. Why?

    • Cydia took years to develop, and like Sileo, was very unstable when it was new.

    • Sileo is very new, it's going to take some time until Coolstar and the Sileo team crunches all the bugs & stability issues.

    Again, very simple and basic post. But I wanted to just remind the community of how new Sileo is. Thanks.

    So it turns out that YouTube Picture-in-Picture does work with A12 after all. I figured it out and wanted to write it down to save it for later, but I thought I should share with everyone.

    Steps:

    1. Need "plutil" from https://apt.bingner.com repo. This can't be installed normally from Sileo. So you need to open Safari and go to https://apt.bingner.com/debs/550.58/. Download the file "com.bingner.plutil_0.1.0_iphoneos-arm.deb". Save it to Filza. Tap on it and install via Filza.
    2. Now go to Sileo and install ForceInPicture 1.1 and YouPiP 0.4.7 from the repo https://spicat.github.io

    3. Install Cercube or YouTube Tools or YouTube++ to enable background playback.

    4. Play a YouTube video and swipe home. The PiP will appear automatically. It may be buggy and stutter a bit, in which case you can return to YouTube, then swipe home again and it should play smoothly.

    Note: If you play YT video from Safari and PiP works, then ForceInPicture is doing its job. It's just a matter of finding which version of YouTube++, Cercube, or YT Tools, works for you. YouTube Tools may not work with latest versions of official YouTube (works for official YT 13.33.10), so I recommend YouTube++ or Cercube.
