Posted: 10 Aug 2021 06:51 PM PDT I recently purchased an M1 Macbook Air and I can't trust myself on handling these things. I often drop my phone (surprisingly no scratches or cracks on the screen). I heard dark stories about Hard Cases where it could scratch the Macbook Air or affect the hinge. (Weird, Apple sells them) Skins is also one of my choices. I like having skins but I heard that it makes the Macbook too slippery to handle. Or Nothing and live dangerously. I got a leather pouch as a gift by my sister so I could store my Macbook there when travelling. [link] [comments]

Which M1 MacBook should I purchase for schooling? Posted: 10 Aug 2021 08:31 PM PDT Hello everyone, I am looking at purchasing an m1 MacBook for my schooling and possibly University, I have been watching a few reviews on YouTube about whether the MacBook Air or the MacBook Pro is better, and I believe that the MacBook Air will be better suited to my need case, even though I will be using a few heavy programs like blender and Adobe photoshop, but I will also be using it for a small amount of gaming with my friends, where we play games like minecraft and roblox for fun. Could anyone help me decide? [link] [comments]
Buying advice for student - MacBook air Posted: 10 Aug 2021 01:11 PM PDT Hey everyone, I'm in the market for a MacBook Air - should I get the current M1 for £900 (+AirPods with student discount) or should I wait for the new one which might come out soon? They say it might come out in October, and I need a Mac for Uni at the beginning of October… What should I do? [link] [comments]

M1 mba setup with external monitor – seeking advice! Posted: 10 Aug 2021 02:28 PM PDT I have recently invested in an M1 mba for university and would like some advice on my desk setup. With my previous windows laptop, my desk setup included an external monitor and a keyboard and mouse set that need a usb-a receiver. I hoped to somewhat replicate this setup with the mba. I have seen some threads and yt videos that raise concerns about using usb-c hubs, particularly the ones that transfer power too. My plan had been to use one of these to plug in the receiver and hdmi cable for the external display, as well as a charging cable. Is there a work around for this? Are my concerns for the usb-c hubs valid? I suppose I could get a bluetooth keyboard and mouse but I particularly like the set I currently use and would prefer to avoid spending extra money if necessary! However, at the same time, I don't want to be taking any risks with a new mba. Thank you! [link] [comments]

OTG Cable on a MacBook Pro M1? Posted: 10 Aug 2021 12:53 PM PDT Anyone know if I can safely use a OTG cable as an adapter on this thing? Heard about the whole bricking thing and don't really feel like going through with that. My current setup is Powered Speakers > USB > Old MacBook My new setup will be Powered Speakers > USB > OTG > MacBook Thanks! [link] [comments]

How to connect 3 external monitors to MacBook pro through thunderbolt Posted: 10 Aug 2021 03:18 PM PDT I have a 2018 15 in MacBook pro, it has 4 usb c ports. Is it possible to connect 3 external monitors? Two work just fine, but when adding a 3rd one it says, "no thunderbolt (90W) signal from your device". Do I need a dock or something? TouchBar works when hooked up to external monitors, but not without. Posted: 10 Aug 2021 08:57 AM PDT Any idea what could be up with this? I'd rather now ship it out for service if I can help it. [link] [comments]
How to charge iPhone and iPad through MacBook? Posted: 10 Aug 2021 05:40 AM PDT I'm trying to charge an iPad through my MacBook, but it won't accept it. I got a message about how there is not enough power to charge devices like this through the laptop. Is there a setting to change this or something I should know? I'm using a Type-C to Lighting cable and trying to charge a iPad Air 2 and iPhone X (not at the same time). It's a MacBook Pro (13-inch, 2020, Four Thunderbolt 3 ports) [link] [comments]
Will buying a MBA from Best Buy still allow me to get the Apple warranty/90 day replacement? Posted: 10 Aug 2021 06:41 AM PDT Pretty much title. Best Buy seems to have the lowest price, but would like to make sure I can still walk into an Apple Store and get Apple support! [link] [comments]
