I tried to log into my account and the loading screen comes up stops about 80% of the way then shuts off . I go into safe mode ( thanks google ) use the band aid option and restart . Same issue again . Then I decided to just delete everything , go to do that and something about s.m.a.r.t comes up about my hard drive .. is this the end of babybook ? Any help is much appreciated. I bought a Mini DisplayPort to HDMI cable today and plugged the HDMI into an HDMI to Thunderbolt 3 dongle and the iMac and MacBook Air weren't communicating. Can anyone show me a better cable to make this happen? I'll post the one I got below. I've tried to turn the ringer off but it still keeps happening. I turned live photos on which stopped it from happening but it still happens when I take pictures on snapchat which is the main issue. Recently, it stopped asking for my Face ID and is having me use my password. I can't seem to get Face ID approval back on. Has anyone else had this issue or know how to resolve it? Specs: I use Chrome as my main browser on it and do most of my work there with the rest in Office. However recently I've been noticing it is very laggy and gets hot. I've tried to restart but nothing improved. I'm pretty computer proficient but this is strange. I've also looked in the Energy tab but nothing seems out of order. The CPU utilization seems to be below 50% most of the time but I have the feeling that its not counting it accurately. I also have it connected to two external monitors so the dGPU is in play. | How to ACTUALLY block access to a website? (iPhone ios) Posted: 10 Aug 2021 09:45 PM PDT Please send me to a different sub if this isn't the right place for this question! It's all about browser access on my iPhone. I use Safari on there, but would be down to switch browsers if that's part of the recommendation! I keep blowing my money on food delivery, and so I'm trying to block myself from their sites to save my wallet! I did list them in the content restrictions ("limit adult content" and added the sites as blacklisted), but literally all that does is add in one extra click to access the site— when I go to the site I can just click the "allow website" option. This is absolutely not enough to push through my laziness and get me to cook for myself. If I had to enter in a passcode, or manually unblock access in settings, I would have a better shot at saving $!!! Any suggestions? Or 3rd party apps that might do the trick? After buying the phone he blocked me. and my phone has an "Activation lock" rendering it useless in my expertise. I have contacted apple and they cant do anything about it (I waited 3 weeks for a response from them and that's what they tell me). I then resorted to 3rd party solutions but they either didn't support iPhone 11 or costed lots of money I am looking for a free solution and it gave me hope once I heard of jailbreaking. so if anyone can help me please come forward thanks. I am frustrated because my iPad Pro and my iPhone maintain separate password banks, yet both share the same contacts perfectly. | My MacBook shows apple care+ coverage even though I never bought it? Posted: 10 Aug 2021 02:46 PM PDT I purchased a refurbished M1 MacBook Air a few months ago (April/May) directly from Apple. I never purchased AC+ for this device, as I didn't think it would be necessary. I was investigating purchasing AC+ for another device I purchased recently, and happened to look at my coverage for my MacBook. It's showing that I have AC+ coverage for it until 12/2023. I would have assumed that the coverage would have been removed/refunded when the computer was sent back to apple by original purchaser. Has anyone had this happen before? Did I get lucky and get free AC+ somehow, and is there a risk of it disappearing? [link] [comments]  |

| Time Capsule was previously part of this network error bridge mode Posted: 10 Aug 2021 08:24 PM PDT Hello, I've been using an AirPort Time Capsule for about a month now. I setup the device in bridge mode and use it for network backups and as a ethernet switch for my media console. It works perfectly fine, I can still make backups to it and the ethernet ports are fully functional. For some reason though, I can no longer manage the Time Capsule. If I fire up AirPort utility I can see that the Time Capsule is connected, but I can't view any of its settings and I eventually get an error that says: "Device not found. Airport Time Capsule was previously part of your network. Check that it is still in range of your network and is plugged into a power outlet. Forgetting this device removes it from your network." Here is a screen cap of what I see in AirPort Utility: https://imgur.com/a/frcXUcR My router is a Linksys WRT1200AC, the Time Capsule is seen correctly by my router and both my Macs and my gaming desktop can see/access the Time Capsule on the network so the problem does not appear to be hardware related. I can still access my passwords on my iPhone etc. I have iCloud from Microsoft store installed, I have the iCloud Passwords extension installed on Chrome. However recently it just no longer seem to work anymore. Clicking the icon asks me to enable Passwords (which is already enabled). Anyone can help with this? Using a Asus if that matters. | Resized & moved Bootcamp Partition from windows, now mac partition is not showing up. Posted: 10 Aug 2021 04:24 PM PDT I was trying to reduce the size of the boot camp drive and add it to the mac portion. I started by reducing the size of Bootcamp partition and moving the unallocated part between the Mac OS and Bootcamp (using EaseUs Partition master). Now after restarting the Macintosh HD partition isn't showing up as a bootable drive. I went into Disk utility and only the Bootcamp partition shows up (and Disk Image) However when I click the internal SSD two partitions show up the BootCamp & disk0S2 , which is the Mac Portion, but it says format unknown and is shaded in the pie chart. I tried researching and this is the closest thing I can Find: it saying " Windows' Disk Management has overwritten the GUID partition table with an MBR partition table. | Left airpod keep disconnecting after 1-3 mins use Posted: 10 Aug 2021 07:27 PM PDT I've noticed this year that my airpods which were the first ones to ever be released since 2017 have started bugging. The left airpod keeps disconnecting with not even after 5 minutes of use and I always have to reset it and connect to my phone which I find very annoying to do since I'am a lazy person. When that does happen my phone can't see to detect it anymore unless I forget it then reconnect it in my phone. So the only "working" airpod is the right one. I've already tried researching on what to do about this and have already tried them all (like forgetting the device then reconnecting, cleaning,etc.) Should I just buy a new pair? if I do I won't be buying the new airpods I'll probably just buy like xiaomi or something since the airpods don't really last long [link] [comments]  |

We are trying to use Findmy but unfortunately since he is very tech challenged, his Apple ID is locked, probably because at some point he entered the wrong password a few times. We have verified the correct Apple ID and password plus the serial number plus the cc number associated with his account. Apple support is telling him that it will be several days before his account can be verified. Unfortunately it is going to start raining in a few hours. Any suggestions? Feeling frustrated. | Brand new iPad Pro and magic keyboard intermittently failing to recognize all keypresses Posted: 10 Aug 2021 10:59 AM PDT I just bought myself a new 2021 iPad Pro and Magic keyboard, and every once in a while, I won't be able to type on the keyboard. The iPad recognizes that a keyboard is connected, but nothing appears in the text box when I type. It doesn't appear to have anything to do with the connection as it is perfectly lined up, and reattaching the iPad has no effect. Hard resetting the iPad also has no long-term effect. It's quite annoying because it is so intermittent that I can't really talk to apple support because something might appear to fix it only to have the problem show up again a few hours later.
