Posted: 24 Jun 2021 05:49 PM PDT I'm putting myself back in school at the end of this July, and I need a new machine as my cheap Dell laptop is on its last leg. I've had a Macbook Pro before and would really want one for the program I'm about attend, but I want to make sure I don't strike out on getting the current model before it becomes "last gen." If this question has been asked before, I apologize, as I could not find any previous threads discussing what I asked. Furthermore, all the research I have done on my own has resulted in many contradicting claims. So from what you guys know or can speculate, will the Macbook Pro M1x be replacing the current entry level Macbook Pro M1, or will it coexist as a more premium offering? He has passed away and so I would like to keep those shared photos but factory reset everything else. I also can not put these photos on my hard-drive as it says it can't find the original file. | Posted: 24 Jun 2021 09:18 PM PDT Hello, I have a 13" 2017 MacBook Air and I split chocolate milk in it. I looked online and I turned it off a few hours after the incident. I cleaned it with water and dried with a paper towel. I think I took out most if not all the milk from the keyboard. However, there is still milk in the trackpad that is making a dull sound whenever I click on it. Everything in my laptop is fully functioning but I do not want to disassemble the entire MacBook to check the trackpad as I don't have the tools to do so. Should I wait for the milk to dry, or go to the nearest Apple store to check it out? [link] [comments]  | ||

| MacBook Pro 13 M1 Speakers Extremely Quiet Posted: 24 Jun 2021 08:26 PM PDT Hello! I just purchased a MacBook Pro 13 M1 (2020) yesterday, and I'm having a little issue with the speakers. In the past, I've heard great reviews about the speakers on these laptops being quite loud, and having the best sound on the market in terms of laptops, but that hasn't been my experience so far. When playing audio out of my speakers, it is extremely quiet. I need to turn the volume to max to really be able to hear anything at all, and even then it is still on the quiet side. I went into my audio settings under system preferences, and everything looks good. The audio output it set for the MacBook speakers, and the volume sliders are set to max. This surely can't be how the speakers are going to be, and if so, why are they so quiet? Is there anything that I can do to fix this problem besides wearing headphones? | Malfunctioning key on a MacBook Air 2017 Posted: 24 Jun 2021 06:58 PM PDT I'm probably just dumb but I can't figure out what to search to find my answer. I'm visiting home this week and noticed that my mom's old Mb Air is laying around unused. I asked and it turns out her job bought her a whole new one because the "o" key wasn't working. Well if I fix it it's mine so what's the strategy? The key was completely nonfunctional when I first tried it. I took off the key cap and cleaned out some gunk, blew in there a little and now sometimes it works. Often it will spam "o" several times, occasionally indefinitely. Is this a known unfixable problem? Can I take the silicone nub off and put it back on or will that ruin it. Any help highly appreciated y'all [link] [comments]  | ||

I set my wrist on the rests when I type like most people do but what worries me is that I have a apple watch with a metal band (magnetic) and if i wear the one apple ships with the watch there will also be metal on the wrest. Now what worries me is scratching it. The macbooks have a aluminum frame and ive heard that it scratches easy. Do I need a case to protect it from my watch and other things in my bag and in the world or will I be fine with just a sleeve? [link] [comments]  | ||

I'm thinking of dropping the case and protector, but I feel like the keyboard cover would have legitimate use (not wearing letters off the keys). | Posted: 24 Jun 2021 10:39 AM PDT Not sure if I am posting on the right place but hopefully. I recently got myself a new MBP 2020 with the Intel chip. In order to get my USB mouse and my screen setup with my MBP I had to get an USB hub with external ports. I bought this one and when I first plugged it into my Mac I immediately tried to charge my Mac with the adapter I've bought and it worked like a charm. I took out the charging cord and preceded to plug in my USB type mouse and my HDMI screen. The mouse was instantly recognised but the screen was not no matter how I tried, a bit frustrated I tried plugging in the charger thinking maybe that would help. Now it's not charging through the hub either the only port that seems to work fine is the USB 3.0. To clarify I have USB-C > phone > hub > Mac which works. But Charger > Hub > MacBook doesn't make it charge at all. it seems as if the Mac is not recognising it at all. Any suggestions? I haven't used a Mac since like 2014 so I am not up to date on the technical aspects really.. Any help would be greatly appreciated. [link] [comments]  |
