It’s not much but it’s honest work

Anyone experience getting woken up in the middle of the night by a leg cramp, jumping out of bed to walk it off, then right when the cramp goes away, your Apple Watch gives you the “You did it!” Stand notification?

Because that happened to me last night at 4am. And....I chuckled. Lol.

    mesmerizing

My watch came yesterday and I never thought I'd use it for exercising. But here I am and I'm so proud of myself. Didn't really know how high to set the goals so I went rather low, but nonetheless it's awesome to be able to close the rings. Over the next few days, I'm gonna see how many steps I usually take, how many calories I burn and I'll adjust everything. But all I know is I'm gonna challenge myself more in my daily life - it's so great you can count walks, dance, etc. as exercises. JUST GIVE ME ALL THE AWARDS ;)))

Thank you to everybody on this subreddit who made me realize how great of a device it is ;)

advice for Family Setup with dementia/Alzheimer

    Posted: 09 Apr 2021 06:50 AM PDT

Any experts here in Family Setup? How precise is the GPS function? I am hoping it is a solution for my 93-year-old father who has cognitive impairment (mild dementia/Alzheimer). He is moving into an apartment block-style seniors' residence. Residents can come and go as they please (no monitoring at door). Problem is that he does not realize that if he "goes for a walk" he may not find his way back. (He may, but he may not.) My plan is to buy him a series 6 cellular watch and control it with my Family Setup on my iphone. Is the gps function precise enough that I will be notified if he leaves the building? I live close enough that I can drive over quickly and look for him. Would love to hear from anyone with Family Setup experience with someone with cognitive issues. As an aside, I am in Canada and will have to use Bell as carrier.

Apple Watch fell into water while it was charging

    Posted: 09 Apr 2021 06:30 AM PDT

As my Watch (Series 6) was charging last night, it fell off the table and landed in the cat's water bowl, along with the (attached and still plugged-in) MagSafe charger. When I woke up I pulled the Watch and charger out, dried both off, and ejected the water from the Watch. The Watch was definitely still charging as it was underwater.

Everything seems ok with both Watch and charger (and lesson learned about where I keep the cat's water), but I can't imagine it's great for the Watch to be submerged while charging. Has anyone else had something like this happen? Is there anything I should look out for?

    Rash from new sports band

    Posted: 09 Apr 2021 05:28 AM PDT

Hi! I've had my SE since release using a blue sports band without any issues. My husband bought me the new plum sport band for mothers day, and within a week the underside of my wrist has had nothing but issues - red, itchy and just generally uncomfortable. I contacted Apple as it's obviously a lot of money on something i'm unable to wear, they asked for photos and asked a bunch of questions, only to come back to me advising how to clean it, and wear correctly.

Has anyone else had this issue? I'm not sure how else proceed with Apple as it seems like they're trying to fob me off.

    Apple Watch activities description

    Posted: 09 Apr 2021 04:20 AM PDT

    Hello community!!

Is there anywhere I can find a list which describes each activity the Apple Watch is able to monitor??

I sometimes struggle to choose! Especially when it comes to cardio workout, core training, arm workouts with and without weights, outdoor walk/ trekking etc etc

I tried but couldn't find any in depth description. The apple websites only describes a couple, the most used ones I suppose.

    Thanks for any help :)

    I love this subreddit!
