Can I install Kindle on my 1st Generation iPad? Posted: 25 Feb 2021 01:57 PM PST I recently powered up my original (1st Generation) iPad. It's still got a nice screen, works well, etc. My intention was to install Kindle on it and use it to read a text book. i.e. With pictures and diagrams. To my surprise I found that the Kindle app requires iOS 12.0. I'm updating my iOS version (currently it's listed as 7.x.x in the settings menu and I'm going up to 8.x.x). Butthere's not a version already available? i.e. As Kindle would have been available on it at the time. Is it possible to work around this? I understand that it's an old device and Apple wants me to upgrade. But... this is reading a book. ( I know, I had to get a new ipad in March and didn't know the 4 was coming out six months later) Zagg Messenger Folio 2. I like this one because it has an easy release clip at the bottom for removing the ipad when using it as a tablet. Logitech Pebble mouse. Just like the portability and slim it is Apple USB camera adapter 3 EMTEC 256 GB SSD. And of course coffee from one of the locations. Apple Pencil 1. Travelor's passport journal from etsy. iPad Air 2 black glow on display Posted: 25 Feb 2021 11:37 AM PST https://imgur.com/a/OQVLtae Suddenly I noticed the black glow in the middle of my 4 years old iPad Air 2. On the bottom there's a white glow as well. It's only visible when the display is white or another light colour. I didn't drop it or anything. I even have another, more intensively used iPad Air 2 which is the same age and doesn't have the problem. iPad production in India Posted: 25 Feb 2021 06:17 AM PST Apple gets incentives to start production of iPads I'm India hopefully it'll bring down the price of iPads. Currently the 8th gen iPad is sold at INR29k ($400) in US it's $330 the higher storage variants have larger price difference. The iPad air retails at INR54k ($757) in US it's sold at $600 so it's a huge price diff coz iPads are not MADE IN INDIA rn. Anyone else have an iPad that overheats? Posted: 24 Feb 2021 09:36 PM PST Hey all. I've been using my iPad for around 6 months now, and it always overheats. I decided enough was enough today and roughly measured it with this point and shoot thermometer thing. Its reading pretty high (over 100 F) for my work, which is writing in OneNote at half brightness. Another bit of info to add: As I charge it, it loses battery percentage points! How crazy is that?
