Switching ecosystems from Google to Apple Posted: 24 Feb 2021 06:30 AM PST I am a pretty big tech nerd but am considering switching to Apple. I am really deep into Android/Google with my Pixel 4xl phone, all my movies on GooglePlay, all my docs on Google Drive, Google Homes, a PC/Laptop, Google Photos, and a bunch of Chromecasts. Frankly I am fed up with Google removing services and general Android buginess. Also the Google assistant is just crap on devices. I guess I am getting old and am OK with not having the latest and greatest and frankly I think Apple has everything I need/want anyway. I just want things to work. I am also worried about being Google's "product". Here is my plan: Swap phones when the new iPhone comes out (and swap my buggy Pixel Buds 2 for the new Airpods pro) Transfer files photos to iCloud Not sure about Google Homes or my new PC laptop Swap chromecasts for AppleTVs except keep 1 in case I need to access some Google Play Movies that are not available on MoviesAnywhere Anyone switched to Apple recently that is this deep in? Was it worth it? Do you have any regrets? [link] [comments] |
