Posted: 24 Feb 2021 07:59 PM PST Anybody else experiencing this? It's SO ANNOYING. I pause something on Disney+. As soon as my screen saver kicks on the content starts playing. The screen saver is still on but the video is unpaused and you can hear the audio, have to cancel the screen saver and re-pause. Only started happening very recently. [link] [comments]
SOLVED: Apple TV 4K remote lag Posted: 24 Feb 2021 02:57 PM PST It took a while to find a fix for this issue so I'm posting it for anyone else who may be searching with the same problem. Backstory:
It arrived today and I wasted no time plugging it in. IT WORKS! If you're having issues with your Siri remote lagging on Apple TV 4K, try upgrading to a shielded 4K HDMI cable. Have a good day! [link] [comments]
release date of the foundation? Posted: 25 Feb 2021 01:09 AM PST on a website I found says that the premiere is next Monday, is that correct? [link] [comments]
Multiple Airplay speakers as output? Posted: 25 Feb 2021 02:04 AM PST I'm planning my home theater setup and I'll be using an Apple TV 4K. I've got a big and a mini HomePod, but thinking of adding a subwoofer connected to an Airport Express. Playing music is fine as I can user AirPlay2 to play on all the speakers at once. My question is, can I output the AppleTV's sound to multiple AirPlay2 speakers at the same time, or only one destination? Eg. can I set it to play on the HomePod and the Airport Express at the same time? [link] [comments]
What is your go to demo 4k material for your Apple TV (2021 updated version)? Posted: 24 Feb 2021 05:52 AM PST This has been done before but it would be good to have an updated version. [link] [comments]
Spatial Audio for Apple TV (workaround) Posted: 24 Feb 2021 08:22 PM PST So I'm not sure if this has been posted here before but I always thought it was a shame that AirPods Pro's Spatial Audio doesn't work with ATV. Luckily I did find a workaround that works when maybe there's a movie you really want to see with Spatial Audio for the full cinematic experience (with headphones that is!). It's pretty simple and may require a bit of tweaking but basically all you do is connect your Airpod Pros/Max to an iPhone/iPad with whatever you want to watch loaded and then pause it at the very beginning. Then load the same movie/show on the ATV and again, pause it at 0 seconds (you can see where this is going). Make sure the sound from the TV/receiver that your ATV sound comes from is turned all the way down or muted. Then as best you can, press play at the same time on both the remote and device. Pros: -You get spatial audio for the movie (yay!) Cons: -No pausing until the show is over unless you want to mess around with re-syncing both devices with pausing and playing. -No ATV remote volume control (have to use phone or iPad buttons) -Device can't be locked so you have to put them facing down or something so it's not distracting. So yeah, not the most elegant solution by any means but I tried it and it works well for those times when maybe you want a bit more of a special cinematic experience. [link] [comments]
What's The Point Of The App On PS? Posted: 24 Feb 2021 08:54 PM PST I tried it on PS5 and I can't watch Discovery+ on it but I can on my phone as well as my other subs. I don't own the device since I got both Apple TV and Discovery+ for free a year and was hoping to watch it on my PS5 but there is no point in the app or am I mistaken? [link] [comments]
AppleTV+ - is it worth it? (Explain this to me like I’m 6 years old, someone) Posted: 24 Feb 2021 06:46 PM PST Got six months free and wondering if it's worth it after that. We have cable, Netflix, Prime and Hulu - does AppleTV+ come with all of that, allowing us to unsub from cable and all? Or once we get rid of cable, do all those "cable shows" go away? Ads with YouTube Premium on Apple TV Posted: 24 Feb 2021 06:20 AM PST Like a lot of other people with Apple TVs and a YouTube Premium membership, I've been seeing ads on the Apple TV app for several weeks now. After contacting support, apparently the issue is still ongoing with no expected resolution time and no details on what is causing it. I asked them for compensation, and they took two weeks off my next subscription payment. They also offered an option for a two week refund on my current payment. If this keeps up, I definitely plan on contacting them again for more money back in another two weeks. I thought maybe you all would like to know that Google will give you some money back while this issue is ongoing. Contact support through the online chat, and it should be pretty painless. Maybe if more people ask for their money back, they wouldn't keep dragging their feet on fixing this 🙃 [link] [comments]

Posted: 24 Feb 2021 08:28 AM PST Let me start out by saying I love my Apple TVs. I have two 4Ks and one HD in the house. My kids and even my wife have grown to love the Siri remote and the UI. With that being said, I am incredibly frustrated that I can't get Dolby Atmos over ARC using Apple TV apps because it won't pass the Dolby Digital+ lossy version of Atmos. It has to be in Dolby MAT which a TV with eARC won't passthrough. Here's to a software update to just let audio passthrough (rather than decoding it in the Apple TV) and let the TV a pass it to the soundbar/AVR for output. That's what the new 2020 Roku Ultra has done and it works really well. [link] [comments]
Volume control via Siri not working through HP and ATV. Posted: 24 Feb 2021 11:34 AM PST I just bought my first ATV recently and was excited to try the new features along with the HP. So now that I can listen to my AM library on both devices, everytime I say the command "decrease or increase volume" my HP responds "sorry there was a problem adjusting the volume". This happens when from my iPhone I play my library through HP and ATV, making it useless to control playback volume on voice command when it's supposed to work right? However the next, previous, play pause commands work normally. And some other thing I also noticed that I don't like is that when I play my music library FROM my HP to my ATV, when I say the volume commands, it only increases or decreases on HP, not on ATV alongside it. I have a HomeKit/AirPlay enabled LG Smart TV so I don't know if that has something to do with it but when I used to play music from my phone to the HP and that LG TV, the volume commands worked perfectly. So it doesn't make sense that works better than an ATV. AND ANOTHER THING talking about my LG TV and HP. When these 2 play together I can adjust the volume altogether on both devices via manually or via Siri on HP, but ever since I got my ATV I haven't been able to do that, it sort of separates the volume control accessibility so I can only control the volume on my ATV with my remote or separately on control center. So I don't get it. Does anyone have any solutions to this or has encountered themselves with this same situation? Can you guys help me please? Thanks a lot in advance! 💋🕊 [link] [comments]
Apps don't auto update with restrictions turned on Posted: 24 Feb 2021 11:15 AM PST Title says it all. When I have restrictions turned on, apps don't auto update. I have five ATV4s, two with restrictions on and three without. Those without update just fine. Those with, I have to go in and manually update every app. Anyone figured out how to fix this? Or is it something Apple just isn't aware of or doesn't care about? [link] [comments]
Posted: 24 Feb 2021 10:13 AM PST Anyone having issues where the trackpad in the TV app stops working on the Movies/TV Shows tabs etc after a short while of browsing? Effectively forces an app restart every so often. Doesn't seem to affect the Library tab though. [link] [comments]
Is AppleTV+ region locked like Netflix? Posted: 24 Feb 2021 08:50 AM PST If it's region locked, can't I just simply switch my Apple ID region to the US? Or is there both a region lock AND an IP lock, so even if I'm using a US Apple ID, the shows I can access in the streaming platform are still limited to my geographical location? Is this going to be my 'Good Bye' to Apple TV? Posted: 24 Feb 2021 08:43 AM PST I am a HUGE Apple product user, going back to OS 7.2 - but I'm feeling bruising on my apple experience. My current Apple TV is pre-4K. I've been watching for a YEAR now waiting for the next Apple TV upgrade... which just hasn't happened. My plan was to get the newest Apple TV (thinking it will be here soon... still waiting) and then get a new 4K TV. Well, once I started using Starlink, and getting 100 Mbps downloads, I decided to stop waiting and bought a Sony 75" X900H TV which is wonderful! It is a smart TV (never had one before) and I can access both Netflix and Prime (the 2 main streaming apps that I use) directly from the TV. Consequently, my current Apple TV has not been turned on since the new TV arrived. Now I started looking at Homepod thinking I would replace my soundbar, but I see that it only pairs with the Apple TV, and not the TV. But I find that I'm not using my Apple TV anymore. Since I'm receiving incredible 4K video from the TV while streaming, and the Homepod won't work with the Sony TV, and the Apple TV+ isn't carrying content that has appealed to me... is this going to be my goodbye to Apple TV - even when a new version is released, if ever? I guess I'm reaching out... I don't want to leave the family... :) [link] [comments]
Purchased like 5 movies on itunes and can't watch them on my android device. Posted: 24 Feb 2021 02:13 PM PST Pretty typical apple BS, but I'll keep my grumbling to a minimum... I bought a few movies on apple, and can't figure out how to watch them from my device. There are very few apple apps available on the google play store and the ones that are available have very limited capabilities. I've also tried using the website to no success. [link] [comments] |
