13" Macbook Pro, 8 GB RAM, 512 GB SSD, 2.0GHZ i5 - $1649 at B&H Photo - Sweet Spot? Posted: 09 Oct 2020 01:36 PM PDT Title is wrong. It's 16 GB RAM. I feel like this machine is the true sweet spot in the Macbook Pro lineup right now. https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1560526-REG/apple_mwp72ll_a_13_3_macbook_pro_with.html Break out your crystal ball... Would you buy this machine now, or do you think a better deal might come along? [link] [comments]
My new MacBook doesn’t wake up half of the time. Posted: 09 Oct 2020 07:05 PM PDT Hello everyone. I bought a 2020 MacBook Air for college and it's really not working out the way it should. My old MacBook Air was so smooth and nice but it was showing its age. This one never wakes up when it needs to and when I open it up the screen goes green for a few seconds? I bought this last month should I call Apple to get a replacement or am I just screwed? [link] [comments]
Can you extend macbook screen to both external monitor and iPad (via sidecar) at the same time Posted: 09 Oct 2020 05:00 AM PDT Does anyone do that? I think it would use a lot of battery though Thanks [link] [comments]
Posted: 09 Oct 2020 04:51 PM PDT I am curious if you would know why my mac does this. So when I open the lid on my macbook air after awhile of using it it makes a sticky sound and its very strange. the only thing i have found on it is that it could be the heat causing it. [link] [comments]

Posted: 09 Oct 2020 02:26 PM PDT I got my moms MacBook as she got a new one but she hadn't updated it in a while. There are several things I can't do without the update but it isn't working. The update shows up and I can click install and it even shuts down and shows the progress bar. However, when I turn it back on nothing has changed and I still have the ability to update again to the same version. It's an old Mac, so that might be the problem, but if there's any way to fix it, any help will be appreciated. [link] [comments]
3440x1440 at 144Hz on Macbook Pro 13" Posted: 09 Oct 2020 09:38 AM PDT Hi guys! I just bought a new ultrawide (3440x1440) display. It's 144Hz but unfortunately after connecting it to my MacBook Pro 13" the max available refresh rate is 60Hz. I'm using DisplayPort cable connected to DisplayPort 1.4 port. What should I do? Posted: 09 Oct 2020 12:33 PM PDT I'm hoping for some help with specs. I'm buying the MacBook Pro 13inches. I was gonna get the air originally but after seeing about the heating issue and a couple friends of mine complaining about theirs I've decided the pro will be the best in the long run. I've got a chronic illness that means I'm home a lot and I know I'll use it loads I use a chrome book a lot rn so I know I'll use it a lot for the usual kinda browsing, I stream a lot of films and tv shows, I've not settled on what I'm doing career and university wise bc of my health and the current situation so I'm probably gonna be doing a lot of online schooling and maybe even working from home at some point so I want it to be able to run for hours at a time(within reason of course I don't wreck it) My internet isn't super fast so i need a laptop that's fast there's nothing worse than slow internet and laptop😩 I'm willing to store most things externally but I'd like a bit of storage too but I don't need an excessive amount. I'm completely lost with all the specs and ghz and the generation intel cores etc? If anyone could give me a basic rundown of what they mean or what would be best for my needs I'd really appreciate it cause I'm completely lost. I don't mind upgrading some things but I don't think I need a fully maxed out one [link] [comments]

Best place to buy used MacBook?? Also what year... Posted: 09 Oct 2020 10:03 AM PDT Sup guys. Not trying to get hosed on a Craigslist purchase that doesn't work as I drive away. What are you're trusted sources for purchasing used MacBooks? Apples refurbished seem like a good buy but it's a marginal discount from buying new. I'm no interested in good cosmetic condition, just functioning properly. Also what years to avoid/not buy past "x" years old. Thanks in advance! [link] [comments]
Is there a dual computer USB-C dock available? Posted: 09 Oct 2020 09:24 AM PDT I have two computers (Macbook Pros) that I want to use my monitor/keyboard/mouse on. But I want to use a USB-C dock to easily switch betwen the two of them for work and for personal life. In the past, there was a setup on Windows towers that you attach to two computers that basically was a dock where you can switch between 1 computer to another with the flip of a switch. Not sure if that's available for Macbook laptops... or at all. [link] [comments]

Macbook Pro 2011 Hard Drive issue? Posted: 09 Oct 2020 02:01 AM PDT I got an old MBP that had a broken hard drive. I replaced it with a 240gb SSD. I installed Lion and then updated to Catalina, all worked fine. I started to rip some CDs with it, and iTunes (sorry Music) started to warn about not being able to save the library. I rebooted and I'm now faced with the stop sign on boot. I can boot into recovery and the drive looks fine but I'm still not able to boot. Any ideas? [link] [comments]

Getting Logitech G Hub and Karabener to work together on Macbook Pro Posted: 09 Oct 2020 03:00 AM PDT I use a Macbook Pro 13" 2017 without a touchbar with an external monitor, keyboard and mouse for work. I bought a Logitech Pro X keyboard earlier this year, downloaded Logitech G Hub to customise key assignments and colours etc, but found that mission control doesn't work using this. So I turned to Karibener to tweak key assignments – and this works like a dream – but this software seemingly can't be used in conjunction with G Hub. G Hub seems to take precedence over Karabener on the laptop, meaning that I can tweak colours but use the key customisation from Karabener. Any idea on how I can get these two to work together so that I can have the colour customisation of G Hub but also have the key customisation of Karabener? [link] [comments] |
