| Posted: 15 Apr 2020 08:34 PM PDT Work in the ER and isolating in a trailer. I have hot spotted from my phone to the Apple TV to watch a single episode of West world which took 5gb of data. Seems insane. I thought 1-2gb. Question is if I stream from my iPad instead, will I use less data? Or even less from the iPhone? Or will it all be the same amount? [link] [comments]  |

| Posted: 15 Apr 2020 11:03 AM PDT So from what I understand the app on smart TVs doesn't let you choose Extras or Scenes but other than that there's no difference between playing a movie on the app vs the actual Apple TV box. Am I missing anything? [link] [comments]  |
| Can’t sign in to icloud photos on new Apple TV 4K Posted: 15 Apr 2020 05:43 AM PDT I've just got a new Apple TV 4K and am unable to sign in to icloud photos. All other icloud/Apple ID stuff has worked fine. Whether going through the photos app or through Settings I get to the password prompt and then get a verification failed message, whether I correctly type my password or use the iPhone thing to load it from my stored passwords. One odd factor is that it's prompting using my old email address *****@gmail.com rather than my current Apple ID which is @icloud.com. I wonder if there's some weird legacy setting that's causing problems? Has anyone else had trouble with photos recently? [link] [comments]  |

| Posted: 15 Apr 2020 12:26 PM PDT I have an atv4k plugged into my Samsung tv and a soundbar plugged into the tv. I had it set up so that when I turned on/off the atv then both the tv and soundbar turned on/off. The atv remote also controls the soundbar volume. Just recently, the atv stopped turning on/off the tv, but still turns on/off the soundbar connected to the tv. I've checked all the CEC setting to make sure they were on both on the tv and atv and restarted (as opposed to just sleeping) the atv. Still no luck. I have no idea what changed. | Infuse: Set up a Pi NAS/Plex Server or buy Pro to use with Google Drive Posted: 15 Apr 2020 08:18 AM PDT Having dusted off a stocked Apple TV HD, I've been playing with Infuse recently and I love the fluidity of it. I started my 1 month trial of Pro 6 and after connecting it to my Google Drive account with a few tb of media, I have a really good streaming setup to use. That being said, I have a month before my trial's up and I'm a bit wary of paying upfront for a media app. By then I have a choice: do I purchase infuse pro 5 (because I really can't justify paying for 6), or do I revert to the free version and set up a NAS / Plex server using a Raspberry Pi 4 and an external Hard drive? | Posted: 15 Apr 2020 09:35 AM PDT So I set up my Apple TV (4K version ) and when I go to search like I do on my other non 4K. Version it only lets me do dictate search . It does the same when bringing up the phone app for this . I did a reset but it's locked down somehow to dictate only and not typing or selecting characters ? Any help Thanks [link] [comments]  |

Do I need to plug the HDMI into the ARC (HDMI 3)? On the TV settings, HDMI CEC does detect that my Apple TV is plugged in (HDMI 1), and I have 1-touch play turned on. What am I doing wrong? While the same search on iphone with Siri works great. What am I missing here. If I have the same Apple ID signed in on both devices, shouldnt SIRI behave the same way.
