    Mist Blue Sport Band

What sort of apps does everyone have? Trying to find new was to utilise my watch.

    Posted: 24 Nov 2019 05:43 AM PST

PSA: I’m sure this has been said before, but if you’re using the space black Milanese loop, don’t let it touch your watch. It scratches it incredibly easy as you can see on my 2 day old SBSS :(

AW5 currently with 10% of power with latest OS. 1d and 3h of standby, 4h and 48 min of usage. Isn’t it bad? I see my friend’s AW3 lasts more than 2 days. Why the hell?

Just got the Black Leather Loop loving the quality of this band!

Anyone know where I can find a Sport Loop style band in solid navy blue?

    Posted: 24 Nov 2019 05:35 AM PST

Apple's "Midnight Blue" would be perfect if the whole thing was blue. I'm not a fan of the two-tone look. I'm fine with a 3rd party band but I haven't had any luck finding one that's solid blue without other colors mixed in.

Workout Question - Walk or Run?

    Posted: 24 Nov 2019 04:45 AM PST

So, I've been using my Apple Watch series 5 for recording my workouts for the past two months. I've alway defaulted my workout to Walk, but I honestly walk for a bit, than jog lightly until I feel like walking again (the pace is usually somewhere between a 13 and 15 minute mile...which I aim to improve). Looking back I probably should have been choosing run as my go-to workout choice, and leaving walk for strictly walking workouts. Should I just start choosing run from here out? If I do that will my walking workouts normalize themselves? Or should I recalibrate the watch for my walks? I just don't want to lose my activity history, data, etc. It's nice to see all those closed rings on my calendar.

    Suggestions please.

How to really save battery when you don't have a charger around?

    Posted: 24 Nov 2019 06:34 AM PST

I'm spending the weekend out, and I realized I left my Apple Watch cable plugged into my home's charger.
When I woke up (5 hours ago) my S4 GPS battery level was at 48%. Currently at 34%.
I turned it off to turn it back on just the two times I plan to be out today. But after turning it on again the level dropped to 42%. I'm not a big fan of turning off any device because the startup process always drains too much battery. I guess I just confirmed it.

I also realized that leaving the watch turned off would not count activity stats (obviously). Same thing for the Power Saving mode. That one is absolutely useless; please tell me that at least the alarm still sets off at time. And you need to restart the watch after using it so... nono.

That leaves me with the Airplane mode that I use very often to let my iPhone make it through the night. Sounds like a great idea, and it's recommended in other similar posts of this sub.

... Till I found out that notifications are still there. Even if I turn off WiFi. Even if I turn off bluetooth in the iPhone.

    So, TL;DR:

    • Apple Watch in Airplane mode + Theater mode + wifi disabled = iPhone still connected via Bluetooth and pushing everything to the Watch to troll your battery saving efforts.

    Posted: 23 Nov 2019 11:20 PM PST

How much better can next years watch be ? With the disappointing and small upgrade of the series 5, how much better can the series 6 be ? Should I get the series 4 or wait till next year ?

Which watch face for which scenario?

    Posted: 23 Nov 2019 11:11 PM PST

What watch face(es) do you use in which situations? Do you have only THE one? Which complications are sufficient for you? Or do you have several? Why? For workout, work, at home, in the car, fitting for a specific loop, ... ?

    Ideas for Bands

    Posted: 24 Nov 2019 05:26 AM PST

So, I'm looking for somewhere to buy AW bands. I bought the AW5 Nike so I alredy have a sporty band but I'd love to find one or two bands to use as my daily driver and in more formal occasion. Problem is, being 23 many of the more "elegant" ones look a lil "old". Since it's a beautiful Watch is like to avoid Chinese crap.

So, could you suggest me both websites (and bands)?

    I'm european.

Apple Watch with no phone/ no cellular, is it still worth it?

    Posted: 24 Nov 2019 07:34 AM PST

I have a 12 year old who does not have a phone, but does have an iPad and Apple account. He would like a smart watch for Christmas, but we are not ready to give him cell service. With the price of the 3 so low, it is tempting to get the reliability of an Apple over a no-name brand. But the Watch app doesn't work on an iPad.

So can anyone tell me what I can still do with an Apple Watch without any phone or cell service? I do have an iPhone myself, but I don't want my texts/ emails popping up on his watch...

    Thanks in advance.

Just got a Apple Watch 5. Is it possible to get to my Gmail on it?

    Posted: 23 Nov 2019 10:26 PM PST

Just got my first apple watch today. My iPhone 8 is a company phone from my employer and I get company emails on it, but use a separate Gmail app to get to my personal email.

The watch lets me check my company email, but there doesn't seem to be a gmail app for it. I saw some guides online on how to get gmail email notifications sent to the watch, but some of the comments in the videos say this method of doing it would only work on older versions of software on the watch...

Is there anyway to check both emails on this watch?

    High Heart Rate Readings

    Posted: 23 Nov 2019 07:07 PM PST

I've had my watch, series 4, since September and most days it seems to register one or two really high heart rates, such as 176, 180, 182. These heart rates occur when I'm not doing anything that would cause these numbers. The doctor now has me on a 2 week heart monitor. However I just noticed the watch registered a heart rate of 170 and I'm pretty sure the watch was laying on my bathroom counter while I was in the shower. I've also noticed that these high heart rates seem to be very close in conjunction with me taking the watch on or off. Has anyone had a similar experience?

Problems with heart rate detection at night

    Posted: 23 Nov 2019 11:21 PM PST

Hello, lately mw aw s4 gives no data in heart rate detection, especially at night resulting in every sleep monitor app to fail. I already tried enabling wrist detection and passcode as suggested by autosleep FAQ but with no luck.

    Any tips?

    Thanks
