Posted: 06 May 2019 09:03 PM PDT I had an iPhone 6s that had lots of problems. Eventually, it just died and went into a boot loop. I had bought an iPhone 8, and a year later, I've decided to try and fix it. I successfully restored and updated the software to iOS 12, recovering from the boot loop. I've noticed the black triangle with an exclamation point appear next to the carrier text. When attempting to setup the phone, "Unable to activate. An update is required to activate your iPhone" appears on screen, followed by a shut down button. I have read that this is a common cell modem issue with the iPhone 7, but I'm trying to determine the cause here with my 6s. I've tried with several different SIM cards, and restored the device multiple times. Any suggestions? [link] [comments] |

iPhone 7 not making/receiving calls, Facetime and snapchat video not working, HELP Posted: 06 May 2019 06:13 PM PDT This problem arose with my phone about a week ago out of nowhere, and has not fixed itself or been able to be solved by trying different solutions offered by various troubleshooting sources. My phone is able to make calls and incoming calls appear and can be answered, but after the time stamps on the call (for both outgoing and incoming calls) starts rolling, I can not hear anything on my side, and neither can the person calling me. Also, the speaker button is greyed out and not able to be pressed during calls for some reason. When I first discovered this, I tried facetiming the person I needed to call, and the facetime rang until they answered, said connecting, then displayed the persons face for half a second before failing. I then tried snapchat video calling, and the same thing as the calls happened (the video feed displayed but no audio came through on my side or the other person's). My phone has no other problems with audio, music plays fine, all sounds play fine, etc; My phone honestly has no problems other than this. I have tried taking out my sim card, putting my phone on airplane mode, restarting my phone, basically everything that is suggested online. I wanted to reach out here as a last resort before contacting AT&T or Apple just in case anyone has any ideas, so PLEASE HELP IF POSSIBLE!!! [link] [comments] |
iMessage won’t sign in to iCloud id Posted: 06 May 2019 05:34 PM PDT iMessage isn't working at all. It's stuck on waiting for activation. Trying to sign in again just hangs indefinitely. Or tried all manners of "solutions"

How to find which carrier iphone is locked to Posted: 06 May 2019 05:03 PM PDT I recently got a good deal on a locked iphone on ebay but the seller said he didnt know to what carrier is locked. In carrier settings it says 'not available'. I tried putting in my Tmobile sim but it said 'sim not supported'.I was wondering if there is any way to see what carrier the phone is locked to. Posted: 06 May 2019 04:33 PM PDT I have a iphone 6S with 16GB space. Recently I went to check my iPhone storage and I found out I've used up to 13.8GB out of 16GB, it was said that the "other" storage is taking up 6.9GB to 7GB space. I tried deleting apps and re installing them but it didn't help but caused the "other" storage to increase further thus I'll not be able to download anything on my phone and it's still full. May I know is this often happens to older phones or is there a way to remove the other storage? Because I don't really download a lot of stuffs but the other storage keeps eating up all the space. Can somebody help me with this problem? [link] [comments] |
Restoring a backup from iTunes to my iPhone takes (too much) space on my computer Posted: 06 May 2019 01:29 PM PDT so a few hours ago i backed up my iPhone on my laptop because of a bug i had (you can see my previous posts) and then i started to restore the backup back to my iPhone, now the backup takes about 60 something gb of space and after backing up my phone i had 20gb left on my laptop i tried to restore and it failed after an hour and i saw that those 20 gb turned to 11mb available on my laptop so i understood that even restoring the backup takes space (which make no sense...) so i freed up about 65 gb of space thinking itd be enough because its about the same as the backup itself takes but now when im trying to restore it again its half way through i have 15 gb left so now im freeing up 35 more gb of space and i really hope thatd be enough... now my questions is: why is restoring a backup to the iPhone takes space on the pc? when the first atempt to restore failed why didnt it give me those 40gb back?? and why is it taking so much space even more than the backup itself??? thank you :) [link] [comments] |

iPhone 7 does not recognise headphones only plays sound through speaker Posted: 06 May 2019 08:36 AM PDT Hi All, I've got an iPhone 7 which I bought reconditioned in pristine condition. Trying out iPhone 8 lightning headphones didn't work, so I tried beats plugged into an official apple adaptor and they also didn't work. The phone is playing Spotify and even if the headphones are plugged in, it only plays through the speaker; it doesn't seem to recognise the headphones at all. I've tried a restore and hard reset (neither of which worked) and my research says it could be an audio chip fault, the phone is running the latest version of iOS. Does anyone have any suggestions I can try before I send it back to the seller please? [link] [comments] |
iPhone 8 always suddenly shuts down at around 30% battery Posted: 06 May 2019 02:27 AM PDT My iPhone 8 keeps suddenly shutting down when it's around the 30% range and will show the empty/red battery bar when I try to turn it on. It only turns back on when I plug it in and the battery percentage will show as being around the 30% range again, so I don't understand why it shuts down as if there's no more battery. I've checked my battery health percentage and it's at 88%. I've had this phone for about 1.5 years. It's also on the latest version of iOS. I've tried to searching around and see that this only happens to iPhone 6's or 6S's. Any idea on what might be the problem with my iPhone 8 and how to fix it? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 06 May 2019 08:44 AM PDT Hello, my case is pretty simple. I dropped my iPhone 6s in the water a couple days ago and it stopped working. After leaving it for 24h in a Moisture Absorber bag it came back to life, kinda, the phone charges and the screen looks perfect but the touchscreen is unresponsive. So I wanted to know if there is a way to put my password using my laptop, so that I can retrieve my data and find out what can be done for my phone. That's all Y'all have a great day !
