Apple Pencil 2 owners: What's your current pencil storage solution? Posted: 07 May 2019 12:53 PM PDT For me, attaching the pencil to the side of the iPad is fine for casual use, but when I'm carrying it around/moving it into and out of my bag, I'm constantly afraid that it'll get knocked off or dropped. I've tried using this pencil sleever, but it's really bulky for my and introduces an awkward protrusion to my iPad case. What's everyone's current solution? [link] [comments]

How is the new ipad mini for taking class notes? Posted: 07 May 2019 09:13 AM PDT Is the screen too small to take effective notes? Is the bigger, base ipad a better option, despite the unlaminated screen, due to its size? [link] [comments]
Posted: 07 May 2019 09:14 AM PDT Looking to find an iPad client that has proper DCC support. I did see TurboIRC in the App Store, but it doesn't appear to have been updated in 3 years and I question how well that would work with my iPad Pro. Anyone have something that they use and works? Thanks in advance! [link] [comments]
Drawing experience - any difference between Air and Pro other than screen size? Posted: 07 May 2019 03:28 AM PDT Has anyone used both for sketching? Obviously, the Pro is larger, but the screen on the Air is the same size as the Surface Pro 3, and that was more than enough. Does the Apple pen behave the same on the screen for the Air and Pro? Same sensitivity and accuracy, no pen jitter etc? Any parallax difference? This is my main concern, whether the 'drawing experience' is the same in all ways other than having a larger area on the Pro. [link] [comments]

New to the apple/iPad universe. Hope you can help me out with some questions (file management) here. Posted: 07 May 2019 12:17 PM PDT So I bought my very first iPad a few days ago, and apple device in general (iPad Pro 12.9). Coming from a long time android past, I'm now trying to adapt to the hole ios workflow. It's a really impressive device but I'm still trying to understand it's file system behaviour. Because of many recommendations regarding file management I downloaded Documents by readdle early on. I created some folders in it (comics, videos, documents, and so on) and dropped some files from my windows pc into it via the wifi transfer option. Now, lets say I have two different comic reader apps like chunky and comicflow. I hit the share button in documents and copy some files to chunky. So far so good. But comicflow is still empty, so I do this again but now I select comicflow instead. Does that mean I have all of theses files twice on my iPad and have used up twice the storage for it? Same for videos, if I have vlc and another video player installed, and share a video file via documents with both players, is that file stored twice in both app folders seperately? Another thing I noticed especially with chunky is, that if I select more than one cbr file in documents and want to share them all at once with chunky, there is only one file copied over at a time. Does anyone know if this is because I have only the free version of chunky or maybe an issue with documents? Anybody else had that issue? I know many of you are working with cloud storage these days in regards of file management, and I also want to give that a try. But I also want to have a lot of data on my device to be independent from any internet connection. And that's why I'm trying to figure out the most efficent way of transfering data on my device. Thanks for your help guys. Appreciate it. [link] [comments]
Ask iPad: drawing editable straight lines on photos Posted: 07 May 2019 11:39 AM PDT I've searched for an app that can do this, and can't find it. Given a photo from the camera roll, I need to draw straight lines on the photo. This line has to be precise; so after drawing the line, I need to be able to adjust the line endpoints so it overlays the photo perfectly. Typically I'll want the line to be very narrow (1-2 pixels wide) and in a contrasting color. Of course, the photo can't flicker or flake out in the background as I'm placing the line, like soma apps frustratingly do. I've spent about $60 on apps that appear able to do this; so far, no app can do this seemingly simple task. Any ideas? [link] [comments]
Matte Screen Protector for my iPad 6th Gen? Posted: 07 May 2019 01:51 AM PDT So I see many people here using a matte screen protector for studying or just drawing in general. Many of those (e.g. Paperlike) are way too expensive, or just more expensive in Germany (e.g. Elcom for 30€ instead of 13$ on Amazon us). Anyone here with good experience on matte screen protectors which are affordable and good for studying purposes? I welcome every recommendation, but if there's a German user here, who might know the products being sold on the German Amazon site, this would be very helpful! Thank you in advance! Posted: 07 May 2019 01:39 AM PDT I paid duet and easycanvas but both are not working if I connect my ipad using a cheap brandless $5 cable. I am not sure if this is due to my computer mainboard issue or if the cable is just bad one. The cable works normally for recharging. [link] [comments]
Posted: 07 May 2019 12:39 AM PDT I recently got myself the iPad 6th Gen 2018 which I intend to use for school - basically note-taking and lecture-recording. Now I am contemplating whether I should get a case for it or not. Should I?
Reddit, what should I do? [link] [comments]
Apps like iBooks for using for college but with some extra features? Posted: 07 May 2019 01:09 AM PDT I need an app to use for college. I mostly have PDFs which I need to markdown. iBooks is great for that, but for some reason, like in Notes for example, you can't have folders inside of folders. I need to have a folder structure like this: College > [years] > [subjects] > [test 1, test 2, ...] > [various folders like "presentations from the teacher", "lab problems", "practicing" etc] It would also be useful to be able to create PDFs or (notes and then convert to PDF) for practicing solving problems for example. Cherry on top would be if I could split screen two PDF documents, but I'm probably asking too much. Quick edit: okay it seems notability has markup, note taking, and the split screen! What about folder structure? Edit 2: And it would be super useful if can connect the app to dropbox or icloud, so that I can quickly work on my iPhone or Windows PC by using Files on icloud.com [link] [comments]
iPad Mini 5 - what Smart Cases fit? Posted: 06 May 2019 05:37 PM PDT Got a new Mini on the way and was wondering if the previous gens' Smart Covers will work. I don't love the colors available in the Mini 5 covers that Apple is offering but older ones have some nice colors. [link] [comments]
Is there any way to read a PDF like a ibooks book? Posted: 06 May 2019 04:43 PM PDT I use ibooks as my primary ebook reader. It works great and I love the way that the pages flip and that the pages are spread in twos to resemble a real book. Recently, I've started reading a 27 page PDF of a booklet that isn't on the ibooks store and even if I read it landscape, only one page is shown at once which is ...not the best on a 12.9 inch display :(. I just want any way to at least read a two page spread as there are graphics that go from one page to the other and it's strange to flip around just so I can see the map correctly. I also enjoy how the pages flip so I would like a way to be able to read it like a book. I have tried to change the file into epub, but that messes up the graphics and the page spreading. I know it is possible because I've read a picture book once I bought on the ibooks store for my niece, but I don't know how. Any help would be appreciated! [link] [comments] |
