Is there a Mfi controller that fits these requirements?

    Posted: 16 May 2019 07:39 AM PDT

So with the news of the steam link, I'd like to get a mfi controller.

I'm looking at the rotor riot as it has the R3/L3 buttons and a built in stand for the phone. However I'm seeing that it wont work with the apple tv, is this accurate?

I'll take any controller advice, this is a whole new world for me.

    Thanks

Looking for a city building game with gacha mechanics

    Posted: 16 May 2019 08:18 AM PDT

I know this sound like the worst game ever, but I've been playing Transformers Earth Wars and I like the mix of city building and gacha. Was wondering what are the other games like this.

    Thanks!

Danger Close, just wanted to recommend this amazingly fun and simple free FPS

    Link to AppStore

Controls actually work pretty well due to autofire. Simple but good looking art design. Quite a few very varied maps and with even some interesting vantage points. Non-aggressive IAP. In-game chat feature.

Edit: Thanks Nimblethor for the recommendation!

Do twinsticks not really work well on KOTOR

    Posted: 16 May 2019 08:53 AM PDT

I had this on my 7 plus and ran like a charm. Felt like I could easily move around with left them. And move camera around with right thumb.

On my X, even after the full screen update, I just can't do that. I can run and kind a look around with left thumb, but can't run with left thumb and easily look around with right thumb.

Is there a sweet spot on missing on the X?

Maybe I'm just imagining it running flawlessly on the 7Plus, but every since I tried replaying it on X, I just get turned away from it.

Nostalgia: Defender Chronicles (I and II) and Protector: The Planes Feedback

    Posted: 15 May 2019 06:48 PM PDT

I'm considering developing a similar game (Tower Defense esque) and was thinking about it resembling the gameplay of one of these two games. I'm looking for as much feedback as I can get regarding Defender Chronicles and Protector. Just some example questions I'm looking for answers to, if whoever is reading this would take the time:

    1. What do you like about the game?
    2. What do you dislike about the game?
    3. How do you feel about the upgrading system between matches? Do you prefer Defender Chronicles leveling/skill system or Protector's? What changes would you make to this system (if any)?
    4. Both games had attempted stories (Defender Chronicles better than Protector). Do you prefer to have a story or not (or maybe don't really care)?
    5. In-App Purchases. I don't recall Protector having any but Defender Chronicles did. Was the setup of them good? Are there things you'd prefer to see/not see as in-app purchases? (Game would only have ads if free. If game cost $0.99 or more then there would be no ads in the first place)
    6. The selection of towers. Do you prefer a large selection or a small selection? Do you prefer gameplay being balanced enough where you could beef up any one tower and just use that, or would you prefer to have to have a variety of towers to succeed (at least hardest difficulty)?
    7. Any other feedback, such as likes/dislikes, comparisons to other games, systems you'd like to see, etc.?

My goal here is to try and get the most thorough feedback possible from actual gamers to design a game around.

    Pliq

    Posted: 15 May 2019 02:59 PM PDT

Pliq is a Tetris-like (kinda sorta) if you're looking for something that scratches that itch, and don't want to participate in EA's exploitive over-monetization of the Tetris property. (Pliq is FtP with a one time purchase to remove ads.) Enjoy!

Which of these should I buy? (aRPG/MV time!) Big post inside. Thanks! :)

So I've burned myself out on Supercell games and the like and I want to get back to quality, one time purchase gaming experiences by myself. I need to feel something again with my gaming experience and I found a pretty decent volume of games to start going through but where to start: I don't yet know. My budget is small so I have to tackle these one at a time. But here's what I'm looking at right now. It's a mix of RPG/Action RPGs and Metroidvania type games. I really love games like CrossCode and Dead Cells (can't wait for that IOS release!) but I'm also older and grew up with the Secret of Manas of yore. I love the glossy pixel look of some of these games.

    • Bastion
    • Transistor
    • Grim Valor
    • Wayward Souls
    • Dandara
    • Dust: An Elysian Tale (tail?)
    • Banner Saga Series
    • Rogue Wizards
    • Rogue Hearts
    • Steamworld Heist

The first 5 are more interesting to me than the last 5 but all seem to have merit that I think I would enjoy. What I want is something that has a higher difficulty level. Complex builds or options with some replay-ability. What I mean is if I tackled the game a second time that I can have a different experience with it. (beat it with a mage! beat it with a rogue! etc)

Most of these games tend to be at the top of Metracritic lists so I know I'm not going to have too much buyers remorse. But I haven't played dedicated offline premium games in years after selling my soul to the disgusting world of Supercell and grinding shitty freemium mobile games for the last 8 years.

Now I know actual quality exists on the IOS platform so I'm here for a proper pallet cleanser.

What one(s) should I make a serious effort to try first and is there anything not on this list that should be?

edit: I also heard that "Exodus" was released to IOS but there was also a malware app of the same name that used to exist so I can't find anything related to the game. shrug

Trying to recall title of old game. Pocket Dojo?

    Posted: 15 May 2019 10:47 AM PDT

It was an app from around 5+ yrs ago. You had a dojo and were able to obtain different fighters that you'd match up against other dojos. I think it was 3 per team. The fights were auto.

Not much into the Ios gaming, could use some recommendations?

    Posted: 15 May 2019 11:36 AM PDT

My device gaming is very limited, usually just tower defense games but I'm looking for a wider selection... any suggestions on (Free is preferred at the moment) the best adventure games? Or any fun RPG games? Maybe something with a good progression system... If such games do not exist on the free side, I'd prefer they be on the cheap side at the very least... Most mobile games I tend to play awhile then delete if its not keeping attention, so I prefer not wasting a few bucks.

and for the love of GOD please no games that have that "energy" system, where you can play for a few levels, then you're forced to wait 6 hours or buy energy just to play..
