    Hey Redditors,

    Just a small thank you to all of you, for making this subreddit what it is today.

    The other Moderators and I have decided that the subreddit has grown to a point where we need more moderators!

    We are looking for people with a good amount of spare time, a history of activeness, and past moderation experience (this is not required but preferred).

    I recently bought an iPhone and today i went to the reddit forum of it and it's quite nice and funny. I expected hate to other brands like Samsung or Huawei but i only see nice things.

    On the GooglePixel forum you see a lot of hate or jokes about Samsung's camera and stuff like that.

    A year Old iPhone X vs almost new iPhone XR

    've been contemplating an upgrade to the XS but have been put off thus far due to all the reports of reception problems/slow speeds/WiFi problems. Those of you on 12.3, have things improved? Do you get better signal? Is WiFi more stable/consistent?

    Deleted bookmark still shows in Safari search

    I have a strange issue and was looking for some help.

    In safari, when I type into the address bar, I get a bookmark I deleted under Bookmarks and History suggestions. It also shows up in top hits. (At least I think I deleted it - I know I never intentionally added it, but might have by accident and then deleted). This does not happen for other deleted bookmarks. If I manually search bookmarks, favorites, and history, it does not appear.

    In settings, Safari is off in iCloud, I've deleted all history and website data. I've restarted the iphone.

    Does anyone have any suggestions?

    Best reason to get an oled display iphone imo

    Since there are post every day from people who are wondering if they care enough for oled or should just get the xr i decided to just point out the one thing i love the most about the oled display and thats it watching youtube videos at 16:9 or better yet 2:1. This way my content is shown on the display and the portion of the display that is not used is just pure black creating a small chin and forehead like in the good old times( /s). On the lcd and expecially at night this forehead and chins are not really black but kinda dark grey and i can still see the notch and its not the same experience. So thats it, thats what i really enjoy about the oled screens and their pure blacks

    AirPod Automatic pair fail

    Hi

    I am having an AirPod and I found that I can pair it to windows 10 PC as normal as any Bluetooth speaker

    But when I turn off my pc and wanna to use it as normal on my iPhone , I have to manually connecting it again to the iPhone ,noting that when I open my pc it's automatically connecting to pc and never connecting automatically after that to iPhone

    Also , when I connecting it to iPhone it's work fine and auto connecting as normal till I go back home and open my pc , so it's connecting to pc and never go back to iPhone again until I manually connecting it

    Any help ??

    Going back to iPhone after buying S10+

    So a couple weeks ago I bought the new Samsung Galaxy S10 plus, at first I loved it but now I can't stand the operating system.

    Everything just takes twice as long to do. The unlocking system sucks, call volume sucks, it seems to freeze a lot. Lags a lot when you do stuff. I miss FaceTime, just the way the OS works on Apple.

    Anybody have experience with "iMyFone iTransor"?

    Long story (check my post history if your curious lol) but I accidentally downloaded a ton of photos off a different device that I share an iCloud with. I was considering using something called "iMyPhone iTransor" which can apparently let you revert to a previous back up, but only for data you want. This is perfect for me in theory, because I wanna revert my photos to about a week ago before this all happened, but I don't wanna lose my current data elsewhere. Has anybody here used it or used something similar?

    iPhone keyboard bug

    its already my second posting in 2 days and I feel like I am spamming, appologise for beeing that pushy trying to find the solution.

    TLDR: I use 3 different language keyboards plus the one with emojies. Sometimes when I use an english keyboard writing something and then press 2x on the "globe" button to change it to the emoji keyboard - the keyboard permantely jumps back to english. After the english keyboard, comes the german one and then the emoji keyboard. In general my keyboard order is following: English, German, Emoji and Russian.

    This is how it looks like: https://imgur.com/WiLz0tg at the end you see how it automaticaly jumps back to english :/ I've visited the apple shop in Frankfurt today and they asked me to contact the apple support.

    Anybody with the same issue or a solution? I had this bug sometimes on my previous iPhone 7 as well.

    When I get a lot of messages (iMessage, Facebook, etc.) in a short period of time, I get sound alerts 3-4 times and then I still receive the messages, but with no sound. Is that a feature?

    If it is I must've missed its announcment or something.

    I'm not complaining, I actually love it. I'm in a couple of group chats and sometimes they talk about things I don't care and not having my phone ring non stop is appreciated.

    Another cool thing about this is that if the messages stop and in 5 minutes I get new message from the same person, although I haven't opened the ones before that, I get the sound alert again.

    I'm on iPhone X. But I believe it was happening on my iPhone 6 as well.

    The somewhat curious case of my 'dead' iPhone6

    I've had my 'used' iPhone 6 in a drawer since I purchsed my X almost a couple of years ago. I'd tried intermittently to charge it and recently it wouldn't even display the red 'battery not charged' indicator when connecting it. I'd left it overnight attached to an iMac to charge and no dice. I thought the battery might just be dead.

    I wanted to try and use it as a basic GPS unit for a road trip (free is better than a £100 Garmin right), so I booked a genius appointment to get a battery replacement and even they couldn't get it to light up with a 10W iPad charger. Long story short they tried a few things and even connected it to some 'diagnostics' box to see if it was salvageable. After 10 mins, they declared it officially dead and beyond repair, even with a new battery i.e. not worth even trying.

    2 days later, and I'm in work waiting for my PC to apply a bunch of software updates, so, bored and on a whim I plug the iPhone into a wall socket that has a '3.4A' 5V USB plug with a cheap chinese lightning cable, and lo and behold the thing wakes up and starts to charge. It's now fully charged and back to life.

    So the moral of the story is never give up hope.

    Why is there a pink line on my iPhone X screen?

    Why is it that with every iOS update, my battery health goes down by 1-2%? I had assumed it was coincidental but every major update from iOS 12 has done this to my phone. (iPX)

    Post water damage

    After I had my iPhone XS submerged in pool water it continually rebooted (every five to ten minutes or so). When realizing it was due to water damage I turned it off for three days and dried it using a desiccant

    I was fully expecting to pay the 549 as posters suggested here to get a replacement unit at the Apple Store

    After drying, however, it has stopped booting completely. I've done a backup, so still if everything fails the worst case scenario will be a, now backed up, replacement unit

    One issue that seems persistent is the volume down button not working. Mostly it will be completely unresponsive. However, at times it will press down on it completely in the OS on its own and I will have to physically press on it a couple of times for it to stop. When it does this I seem to get it to be responsive by pressing it myself (ei when pushing both up and down alternately it is responsive while also at the same time 'wanting' to push down itself, so if I don't touch anything volume by itself goes all the way down). When it's not doing this, the volume down button is completely unresponsive

    The other thing is the battery. The first charge I stopped at 94 % .. I then used it to 88 % and now it won't charge above 92. I'm following this guide now to calibrate the battery, but the end step entails resetting the phone which I can't do without using the volume down button

    1) how do I reset without using volume down button? 2) any genereal advice for my situation? Is it gone? Will the performance just deteriorate and be buggy? 3) if these two issues are the only that persist, any chance to get it fixed (button + battery change) for significantly less than $549, Apple Store or other place?
