Apple aims to release native sleep tracking features for Apple Watch by next year

    Posted: 26 Feb 2019 04:42 AM PST

Apple is actively developing sleep tracking features for the Apple Watch, as reported by Bloomberg. The report indicates that the sleep tracking features would be tied to new hardware, rather than a watchOS software update.

Another one bites the dust: BBC News removes its watchOS app

    Posted: 26 Feb 2019 03:56 AM PST

Apple Support confirmed the BBC News app is now only available on iOS. This follows a broader trend of apps (including a number of news-related ones) abandoning watchOS development, and using the platform only for notification delivery from their iOS apps.

Help with Final Decision: S4 Space Black SS, or S4 Nike Aluminum?

    Posted: 26 Feb 2019 04:48 AM PST

I'm looking to get a new Apple Watch later today. I think I am leaning towards the Space Black SS over the Nike edition because of the higher quality materials (I discovered with my Apple Watch Sport the Ion-X couldn't handle me very well). I'm mildly OCD, so scratches bothered me quite a bit.

However, I am pretty active. My Apple Watch Sport took a good beating. Would the SS be worth it if I'm expecting it to maybe have a rough life? Or should I stick with the Nike version? I know the SS has sapphire crystal, but I've seen it's not as strong as other watches with sapphire crystal. Is it worth the extra price?

Any help deciding would be awesome.

The Apple Watch is the only thing keeping me from getting one of the new Samsung Galaxy phones.

    Posted: 25 Feb 2019 09:33 PM PST

Is anyone else on the same boat? I can't imagine what I would do without my AW S4 SS. It has become such a necessity for me. Simple things like the health features to the convenience of leaving the house without my phone when I need to. Apple has really created a winner here.

What are some good ways to organize the app grid view? And how do you make your own moving watch face?

    Posted: 26 Feb 2019 12:27 AM PST

No matter what I do, I just can't figure out a good way to organize all my apps.

Also, I know how to set a picture as a watch face but I always see people who have a picture that moves, how do you do that?

    Apple Watch, iPhone, and MapMyWalk/MyFitnessPal

    Posted: 26 Feb 2019 05:04 AM PST

I hope this will make sense, because I cannot figure out how to correct it. Hopefully, someone can help me troubleshoot.

So, I use MapMyWalk and MyFitnessPal (both Underarmour applications). I used to only have an iPhone that tracked my movements. Now, I also have an Apple Watch.

When I track my workouts now (either using the Apple Watch Workouts app or the Underarmour Workout app) on the watch, I get a credit. But then something weird happens.

I get a deduction from my calories because (I guess?) it is comparing my phone workouts to the watch workout. (Is it seeing that my phone never moved and so how could I have gotten credits?)

For example, I went walking this morning and got a 200 calorie credit. I ONLY had my watch with me.

When I got back in the house, the apps all synced and I saw my calorie credit, but then I saw a LARGER calorie deduction (it had the little phone icon beside it). So even though I had earned 200 calories (on the watch), I was deducted 300 (on the phone). I ended up with total daily calories of less than when I started. Haha. This, even though I have not logged any meals or eaten anything.

Does anyone know what I should do? Should I just disconnect my iPhone as a tracking mechanism and just rely on the watch data moving forward?

Stream AppleWatch heart rate to iphone

    Posted: 26 Feb 2019 04:36 AM PST

When on the bike or rowing machine, I used to stream my heart rate to the iPhone from my Fitbit to be able to continuously monitor. I can't seem to figure it out with Apple Watch. Any help?

    Location Sharing with non-apple users

    Posted: 26 Feb 2019 04:33 AM PST

I'm trying to find a location sharing app that works for non-apple users (Glympse and Strava work from the iPhone, but NOT from the watch).

So: Can anyone recommend an app for the Apple Watch Series 4 Cellular that will allow me to share my location with my wife's Samsung Galaxy S9 while riding my mountain bike without having to also carry my phone with me?

Messages Complication doesnt show the number of unread message anymore!

    Posted: 25 Feb 2019 07:11 PM PST

I have Apple Watch Series 4 and for the first couple of days I could see the number of unread messages by the messages complication. However, it stopped working, I can still click on the message complication to go to the messages and read them, but no other vital information is displayed.

    Anyone seeing the same?

Has anyone managed to scratch the sapphire glass on their Apple Watch SS? If so, how’d you manage that?

    Posted: 25 Feb 2019 12:25 PM PST

I'm trying to decide if the SS version with the Sapphire is worth the extra cost. I discovered I was pretty rough on my first Apple Watch Sport, and it was covered in scratches. If the SS could hold up, I would love to grab it over the Nike version of the watch. The scratches bothered me as I'm a little OCD.

Live Photo - Am I dumb or...

    Posted: 25 Feb 2019 06:49 PM PST

I can't for the life of me figure out how to make the Watch Face a Live Photo.

I set a Live Photo and it's just a Photo.

But everyone has these cool animated watch faces.

What am I doing wrong? Google is literally no help.

Does anyone know how to get scratches off of aluminum? Over the 4 years that I've had an aluminum phone I've never scratched it. And this happens after one bang on my desk! So frustrating

    Static noise

    Posted: 25 Feb 2019 05:53 PM PST

    Hi guys,

This evening I've unfortunately dropped my Apple Watch S4. I'm very very lucky that there isn't a single scratch on the display. It dropped 60cm on the floor and I was so scared that the display was scratched. But after checking the Watch, I've noticed a weird static noise. It's only there when the display is on, and I have to hold my watch close to my ear, but it's a very weird noise. Is this normal, and does anyone has this noise as well?

    Thanks!

At what point would you exchange your band size?

    Posted: 25 Feb 2019 08:35 PM PST

I bought a large forest green leather loop not realizing there was a medium size. (From the Macy's sale)

The band is almost too big on me (if I tighten it, it overlaps) but if I drop it down one, then it's comfortable, and it does feel and look fine.

Should I bother switching to medium or keep the large?

Anyone looking for leather Apple Watch bands? Arrow and Board is the place to go! Just received mine and though the price is a bit higher, you really do get a tasteful band. Built well and doesn't feel cheap at all.
