Hdr was working fine til today. Now when I try to go to hdr format it just cycles like this. Have to restart the apple TV. Dolby vision doesn't even come up. Was there an update recently that messed things up?

I've had my AppleTV for a couple years and love it. Bought my parents one for Christmas and yesterday the screen went black. Little white light still on, I went over, switched HDMI ports, it was fine. Switched it back to the original port. Worked fine. They just called, the screen has gone black. They switched ports like I showed them and nothing. They even switched HDMI cords and nothing. Little white light is still on.

Any ideas?

[Help] Apple TV turns itself on when I turn my tv off

So I recently purchased this Apple TV and it works well, however when I'm on another source (DTV, HDMI 2, etc) and I turn my tv off after a couple of seconds my apple tv will turn itself and my tv back on.

Things to Note

I have turned off HDMI CEC on the apple tv and control for HDMI on my TV
if I turn off the tv while on the apple tv's source it turns off and stays off no issue
I have searched for other posts on my particular issue and have not been able to find one that matches my issue

Apple TV 4K + Samsung MU6300 Optimal Settings?

Hi all,

I'd love your input here.

I've a Samsung 42" MU6300 TV (it's an LED model) and it's connected to my ATV 4K.

Now, these models do have an HDR+ mode (I've found that it does add some color but also darkens picture) which I use sparingly. The ATV is currently at 4:2:2 chroma, set to 4K SDR (60 Hz). I have also set it to match content (HDR) and frames, per the option provided.

I'm just a little but underwhelmed on the 4K front - it doesn't seem as drastic a change as SD was to HD back in the day. Is it just me? Are my settings at their optimum for me to get the best picture from my devices?

Does anyone know if there are any Apple TV apps for the Mac? This all started .....

When I tried connecting my Hue lights to match the content on my TV screen. There is a Hue app for Mac called Hue Sync which enables you to select the lights you wanna sync with the show that is playing on the TV and changes colors with the scene changes on the TV. However, after setting this all up ( on the Mac) I was stuck. For example, on my Apple TV I am signed in with my cable provider allowing me to watch basically all my cable channels. As an example I watch Ray Donovan through showtime but it's actually all through the Apple TV app. So after setting up Hue Sync on the Mac I realized I had absolutely know way to even watch it on the Mac to airplay it to the Apple TV. Are there any cable provider or Apple TV 'TV' apps for the Mac ???? THANK TO ALL IN ADVANCE.

Apple TV 4K box keeps disconnecting from Samsung Nu8000 TV... why?!

Hi everyone,

I'm in need of help. My Apple TV 4K box keeps disconnecting from the HDMI on my Samsung Nu8000 tv. Both products are new. It's so weird because my Apple TV box will only have trouble turning on after a prolonged time of sleeping (maybe 6-7 hours). In order for me to turn it on, I have to unplug and replug my Apple TV box. It's incredibly frustrating.

I've already tried turning off the Control Remote setting on my Apple TV. I've tried changing HDMI cables. I've also tried changing Apple TV boxes, and it still does not work! I also have a Nvidia Shield box, but it consistently works every time I wake it up after a prolonged time of sleep. Only my Apple TV box has this issue...

Does anyone know how to solve this? Or should I just try to exchange my Apple TV box again? 😭
