    Help with which MacBook!

    Posted: 20 Feb 2019 05:46 PM PST

I'm looking at getting a MacBook for photography (lightroom and photoshop) as well as doing a few video edits with my Mavic Pro(4K hopefully, if not 1080p would do) Would a MacBook Pro 2018 with these be okay?rendering Time isn't a major issue.. as long as I can edit somewhat smoothly.. and will only be 2 min long videos at the most nothing too heavy!..

2.3GHz dual-core Intel Core i5 processor, Turbo Boost up to 3.6GHz Intel Iris Plus Graphics 640 8GB of 2133MHz LPDDR3 memory 128GB SSD

Does anyone have any idea what this little bar is? It shows up on all of my desktops to the right of the dock.

Can a 2013 MBA output audio that comes in through headphone jack?

    Posted: 20 Feb 2019 05:19 PM PST

I'm trying to talk to my friend who plays Rocket League on PS4 and has a MBA. I play on PC. We're talking on Discord but he has to choose between game and chat audio. Game from PS4 and chat from Discord on Mac.

Could he set the audio output from the PS4 to the controller headphone jack, hook up an aux cord between the PS4 controller and Macbook. Then use a USB headset plugged into the mac to playback Discord audio from Mac and the game audio coming through the aux cord from his controller?

Is it a bad timing for purchasing a MacBook Pro?

    Posted: 20 Feb 2019 03:22 PM PST

I heard about all the rumors lately. Now I don't have any interest in 16.5" laptop, 15.6" or even 14" I think the size of the MBP 13" is perfectly fine for me. I'd use it for web, Visual Studio, maybe I'll learn some photoshop with that, and besides that, replace my iPad for a while. Plus the MacBooks are usually out around June like the iPhones are out on September, and we're on February March... so what do you say friends? Can I go purchase it calmed or I REALLY should wait?

So I just picked up a new Air, and installed Windows 10 via bootcamp ( I need the windows version of Autocad). All good, apart from when I try and shut the machine down, windows keeps booting back up?? Any ideas? Thanks.

    Worthy update? (MacBook Pro 2.3 Ghz 15-inch 2012 to MacBook Pro 3.1Ghz 13-inch 2017)

    Posted: 20 Feb 2019 08:42 AM PST

I found a pretty decent deal on a refurbished MacBook Pro (13-inch 2017) 3.1 Ghz Dual-core Intel Core i5 512GB TouchBar with a 16gb RAM from my local Apple seller.

My current daily driver is a MacBook Pro (Non-Retina 15-inch 2012) with 2.3 Ghz Quad-core Intel Core i7 256Gb SSD and 16Gb RAM. My question is would this be a worthy update for me? I mostly use my computer for music production, web-browsing, some graphic design and little bit of video editing.

My current MacBook Pro doesn't really handle 4K footage all that well but otherwise it performs okay. I wouldn't mind a little bit more of a speed bump in general usage.

And I can't really afford going all in on a fully loaded new MacBook Pro 15-inch.

Geekbench score for my current MacBook Pro are:

    Single-Core Score: 3456

    Multi-Core Score: 11738

    Any suggestions?

    Help regarding buying of MBP.

    Posted: 20 Feb 2019 05:59 AM PST

I'm planning to buy a MacBook Pro to learn programming and light photography. My budget is around 2500 dollars and I want it to work for atleast another 5 years. Should I buy the 2018 pro model or wait for 2019 release? Also, is it worth waiting for the 2019 release considering my budget and their upgrade?
