Is colorizing of the menu bar like this possible? Posted: 21 Oct 2018 11:51 PM PDT Is there any extension for that would allow to modify the color of the bar based on the app like this: http://psifidotos.blogspot.com/2018/10/latte-dock-new-painting-is-coming.html [link] [comments]
OSX Mojave broke developer tool "xcrun" (required by Git) Posted: 21 Oct 2018 06:41 PM PDT Anyone know where to get the binary "xcrun" for OSX Mojave? Specifically: ``` xcrun: error: invalid active developer path (/Library/Developer/CommandLineTools), missing xcrun at: /Library/Developer/CommandLineTools/usr/bin/xcrun ``` `sudo xcode-select --install` does not work, because Apple gave up trying to look for software (stuck on 'Finding Software' loading no matter how many retries. Also tried `xcode-select --reset` from couple of sources, also does not work. I screwed up by installing the new os without knowing that it'll break Git, the most crucial tool for developer. Anyone know how to fix this? And maybe make it a sticky post since it's pretty important. [link] [comments]

Can't delete Safari Website Data on Mac Posted: 22 Oct 2018 01:09 AM PDT Running Mojave 10.14 on a MBPr 2014. For the past few weeks, I kept noticing that I'd constantly get logged out of certain sites. I tried deleting all my website data but for some reason, all of it is restored after a certain amount of time. I tried deleting my iPhone 6s's website data but it would also get restored after some time. I turned off iCloud sync for Safari on both devices. So far the website data still gets restored on my MacBook but not the iPhone. Not sure what's going on. Any help would be appreciated. [link] [comments]

Could macOS programs be streamed onto iOS devices Posted: 21 Oct 2018 10:55 AM PDT I thought it'd be cool if just like how Xbox and PlayStation stream games with no latency over WiFi to any device anywhere, it'd be cool to have macOS do something similar for its programs. For example, someone with an iPad could stream Adobe After Effects onto their iPad from their Mac computer. Working with the pencil and touch screen on the surface I realized I actually work faster in Adobe After Effects when using the touch screen with a pencil tool. This could be huge I believe because the one thing holding a lot of programmers and creatives back from buying an iPad Pro is the fact it can't use any professional software designed for macOS. I don't see why Apple couldn't do the reverse as well and stream apps from iOS onto a Mac computer. Right now it seems like they want to natively run iOS apps on Mac computers so they are implementing them with ARM chips but it just seems like they're causing more work for themselves. Unless there's a reason why they'd want the programs to run natively on each device rather than them be streamed, but I can't see why because an Xbox and PlayStation can do it with graphic intensive games and no latency. Problems with Apple Mail in Mojave Posted: 21 Oct 2018 09:27 AM PDT I am running Mojave on a 2013 MB pro and everything except Mail is just fine. Mail, OTOH, spontaneously quits about 8 - 10 times a day, most frequently when, while using another app like Safari, Pocket, Notes, etc., I choose the share icon (box with an upward facing arrow) and scroll down to Mail. Bang! Mail quits immediately. I have sent crash reports to Apple each time and have gone to... https://www.apple.com/feedback/ ...and reported it there. [link] [comments]
Posted: 21 Oct 2018 10:00 AM PDT Does this mean we will not be able to open non-notarized apps at all in a future release or that there will simply be an another solution, for example, through Terminal or disabling Gatekeeper? https://www.idownloadblog.com/2018/10/19/gatekeeper-future-macos-notarized/ [link] [comments]

Apple's default apps: do you use all of them? Posted: 21 Oct 2018 08:12 AM PDT Just finished a short article about my thoughts on Apple's default apps. Recently I noticed a lot of people actually barely make use of the default apps that come with either macOS and/or iOS. I used to be really into third-party apps such as Wunderlist, Spark, Sunrise (r.i.p.), Evernote and many more... but I ended up going back to the default apps. I was wondering what the general thought is about the use of Apple's default apps. This is the link to my Medium post. Would love to hear about your thoughts! [link] [comments]
