| Posted: 17 Oct 2018 06:59 PM PDT When I press Command R at boot this page about forgotten password appears and then before I can do anything I get a Kernel Panic and a reboot over and over again. I can't seem to enter Recovery. Does anyone know if this indicates a Hardware issue? Does anyone know what I can do to fix this if it isn't a hardware issue? I just want to enter into the Recovery screen. iMac Late 2015 i5 3.2Ghz 1TB Fusion 32GB RAM macOS Mojave. And I have already unplugged everything from the iMac other than the power cable and ethernet cable (I also tried without the ethernet cable). Any help is really appreciated. Thanks. | Mail.app is taking up massive storage—what am I doing wrong? Posted: 17 Oct 2018 10:25 AM PDT I understand that by default the Mail app stores local copies of attachments. I didn't realize it until probably a year after getting a Mac and racking up 100gb of stored files on my work e-mail account, which is an Exchange account, if it's relevant. I set the "Download Attachments" option to "None," but then that leaves the matter of getting rid of what's already downloaded. Selecting all the messages and then using Message -> Remove Attachments appears to do nothing at all. I can only do them one by one. If I delete stuff from the containers folders or rebuild the mailbox, all the attachments are redownloaded. What am I missing? I'm sure it's something stupid and obvious, but I can't seem to just make all these old attachments go away (and in a way that doesn't also remove them from the Exchange server.) | Microsoft Office 2016 super glitchy and terrible in Mojave. Posted: 17 Oct 2018 09:05 PM PDT When I upgraded to mojave, suddenly office 2016 is terrible. Many drop down menu's in the ribbon don't appear EVER (specifically: text colour, bullets, spacing, tables, shapes, etc. -- this is the case in word, excel, and ppt), the ribbon sometimes doesn't appear at all until I change the size of the window. I have been using office 2011 but its old and I'm not used to it anymore, the graphics are terrible. Apparently to downgrade back to sierra (i skipped high sierra) I have to delete everything and reinstall which I would rather not do. Are there any fixes for this or do I have to wait until office 2019 comes out? I loved office 2016, it was perfect and now it's barely even usable for advanced document, spreadsheet, and ppt making - not to mention that 2016 outlook now doesn't even work at all. The app just has a crossed out symbol over it. Are they going to fix mojave so office 2016 works again? I regret upgrading to mojave everyday. Why wouldn't they make it compatible with office 2016?? :( :( Any thoughts? Is anyone else having these issues? [link] [comments]  | ||

| Desperately Looking For Audio Device Help! Posted: 17 Oct 2018 07:08 AM PDT Hi everyone, usually don't post much but getting desperate after scrolling through all the mac forums to no avail. Currently running a MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch, Early 2015) which I have linked up to an external monitor (ASUS VA32AQ) via mini display-HDMI connection. In order to control my external monitor's volume, I used the program Sound Control which allowed me to do so using the volume buttons on my keyboard. Everything was fine until I upgraded to OS Mojave. A few things happened. Firstly, my sound devices were duplicated for some reason as seen here: https://imgur.com/a/qicIsv0. The VA32AQ channel doesn't let me adjust my volume via the keyboard keys. The VA32AQ(S) channel DOES allow me to do so, however, the audio is all messed up with static. Internal speaker works fine while Internal Speaker(S) produces no sound. I suspect that the program Sound Control may have duplicated the audio devices when I upgraded operating system. So I tried uninstalling it properly but it didn't get rid of the duped devices. I then tried what everyone else was doing and deleting any associated .kext files in Computer/System/Library/Extensions, but there were none that I could find. Firstly, how can I remove those duped audio devices? If not possible, does anyone have any idea why the VA32AQ(S) channel is producing crazy static and is there any way I can work around this? | Posted: 17 Oct 2018 08:44 AM PDT It was few day ago that I noticed that the serial number of the macbook air was missing for about my mac setion, so I tried to enter it manually using Blankboard serialiser and screwed up as i accidentally added the area code letter while feeding the serial number. The issue is that I have the correct serial on my mac now but with an extra letter (area code) at the beginning as i used the bill to enter the serial number. My mac wont let me use imessage or facetime. any way in which i can revert to my actual serial? [link] [comments]  | ||

I've got mac book for two weeks now which it is a custom spec with CPU i5 gen8, 16Gb of ram and Mojave OS. Since last week it was frozen twice and the recent one was yesterday. I tried hard reboot. I tried to wait for it to be unfrozen but it turn out to reboot by itself. It's my post r/https://discussions.apple.com/thread/8587816 on apple support forum . The respond comment told me to troubleshooting , reset the system and reinstall OS.But I'm wondering. Is there another way to solve this issue or I have to waite for the Apple's update. | Macbook pro 14" shuts down at 30% battery Posted: 17 Oct 2018 10:31 AM PDT Ever since installing Mojave (after official release) my Macbook Pro 15", 2014 keeps shutting down when the battery reaches about 30%. Either this is a bug in Mojave, or my battery is just getting worse and needs to be calibrated. Which one is more likely and how would I calibrate my battery? | AirPlay dropouts and stuttering, only on MacOS Posted: 17 Oct 2018 08:57 AM PDT I have problems with dropouts and stuttering playing Tidal and Apple Music via Airplay to my network streamer. Using Airplay from my iPad works fine, I have this problem only under MacOS Mojave (and previously High Sierra). I am using a 2017 iMac with 32GB RAM and i5 CPU. The playback intermittently drops out for a second or stutters. It cannot be network/router related, since playing from an iPad works flawlessly. I also tried everything network-wise (changing default DNS servers, changing WLAN channels, etc). It must have something to do with AirPlay under MacOS. Can anybody help? [link] [comments]  | ||
| Anyone know how to get a mac to print a pic darker? Posted: 17 Oct 2018 07:48 AM PDT I'm running 10.12 and have Open Office and Xee. I have a pic that's a coupon that I need to print out. I see preferences, but nothing where I can set the print darker. The next prints very dark, looks great, but the picture of the coupon doesn't. What software can I use to make the picture darker. I can't seem to mark it as bold and the printer doesn't have any options on the menu. Printer: Panasonic Laser MFC KX MB2000. It's not low on ink because the text is printing just fine.
