Hi Considering upgrading my 2nd gen Apple TV to 4th gen. Was wondering if there is any advantage in getting the 4K AppleTV device vs non 4k? Would I be able to notice any apparent increase in resolution or sharpness on my 1080P plasma? The reason I ask is that there is definitely a huge increase in sharpness when watching blu-ray content (3840×2160 pixels) vs regular 1080p DVDs.

Apple TV 4K with Samsung NU8000

When I try to watch Directv Now or any other app from the Apple TV it looks very muted on my new TV. It is a 75in Samsung NU8000. I have looked through all the settings on both devices but can't get rid of the dirty screen effect. I have tried different HDMI cables and ports on the TV. The roku I hooked up looks just fine with the same cables and ports. I am not an apple guy and this is my first Apple TV. Any help would be appreciated in trying to correct this issue as the Apple TV is by far the better product except for that muted and washed out picture.

I'm thoroughly confused why this is. My equipment is an LG OLED B7, fully capable of DV and HDR10, as is my Marantz AV8802A processor

4K HDR is supposed to be the best "quality" setting from the APTV box, correct? when I have it in the mode, the picture comes out washed out and nowhere near as good as HDR content from native apps in my LG, eventhough the "HDR" logo does show up meaning it is processing HDR content.
4K HDR will NOT send out Dolby Vision no matter what. I chose DV content in netflix and in iMovies, and neither will show up DD, just "HDR" and with the same washed out look.
I switched it to 4k SDR, and the menu's on the APTV are now crisper, the blacks are darker, etc. The content from netflix and iMovies that are supposed to be Dolby Vision, now show up as Dolby Vision, as expected!

anyone can explain to me why this is, or whether I have something set up incorrectly, or whether I'm confused with the terminology?

Ever since I updated to the latest tvOS. My AppleTV remote disconnects after not being touched for a while to then connects once I press a button. Is this a new feature?

on Apple TV you see better image quality in the Starz app or in Amazon Channels (with Starz included) and the same for the other channels, your own app or Amazon?

tvOS 12 iptv m3u links are not working

Hi,

I downloaded several apps like GSE, IPTV Smarters, Cloudstream etc. None of them accepts the url i paste as m3u playlist.

It was working fine on before update tvOS 12.

When i paste URL on the m3u add section, all apps shows invalid url.

What can i do?

I changed in settings in video and audio , that thing that goes YCbCr whatever , to RGB High .... and it fixed the led light !!!!!!! It now goes off when I put ATV in sleep, as it should. Before it was always on, even when ATV was sleeping.

I mean, cool , but wtf?

Missing apps from app store?

Hi, i just bought an Apple TV 4K. I would like to download a casting app such as Localcast or Allcast, but i can't find any of these in the app store. I'm running latest tvOS. Any suggestions?
