Apple TV not turning TV off when shut down....HELP! Posted: 06 May 2018 02:56 PM PDT I bought a new Samsung TV and a new Apple TV (4th generation, non-4K). However, the Apple TV is not shutting the TV down and sometimes I have to turn the TV off by using its remote.
Note - I have the latest software updated on both the TV and Apple TV. [link] [comments]
Posted: 07 May 2018 01:36 AM PDT I have a Samsung mu8000 2017 model. with HDR enabled everything looks washed out and dull and no contrast. switching to 4k SDR makes not only menus and screensavers look much better, but movies too! I have UHD color enabled on all 4 hdmi ports. HDR 10 content looks amazing in the native apps like prime video and Netflix. kinda disappointed hdr looks so bad and SDR looks great... it looks like the apple tv is fighting the tv with HDR enabled. during DV playback movies look dull and washed out. 2:2:0 4k SDR, dynamic range match turned off looks great dynamic range matching enabled looks terrible.🤮 dynamic range matching makes everything dim and turning it off makes colors pop. I think it's taking one dynamic range from DV and it can't switch it per scene like dv, so it just stays dim the whole movie. wtf apple. [link] [comments]
Apple TV 4 loses signal to receiver Posted: 06 May 2018 02:31 PM PDT I use my Apple TV 4 together with a Pioneer VSX-930 or at least I try to. I keep losing the video signal every few minutes and sometimes I don't get a signal at all. If I connect it directly to the TV it works fine. I also had that problem with the Apple TV 3 but every other device hooked up to my receiver works fine. I tried switching cables and ports on the receiver but nothing seems to help. Anyone ever experienced something similar? [link] [comments]
Use GE Remote to control AppleTV? Posted: 06 May 2018 07:12 AM PDT I seen the GE 4 Device remote as a recommended Siri remote replacement. I have the Brushed Graphite one #GE 33711. I wouldn't think there would be any difference between the remotes other than color and the model#,but you never know. When I enter the code the APTV will respond to the remote as the light flashes when you touch buttons on the remote, but it will not in anyway control any of the functions. Anyone have any advice?
