[Discussion] A fresh look for Cydia?

    Cydia icon redesign

I know someone has previously redesigned the icon, but I think it could be improved upon.

    You can preview it here:
    Link (Mobile- Friendly)
    Here's another one (Mobile- Friendly)

All files, vectors, and iPhone/iPad icons included here (MEGA link):
MEGA link (not so Mobile- Friendly)

Previous Cydia icons have been based off of the Apple App Store icon. In my iteration of the Cydia icon I have attempted to incorporate this aspect.

You can find all system icons in the "cydia-icon" folder.

    Happy new year everyone!
I know that might be a little late for most of you, but here in Baker Island, we celebrated a little late.

[Tutorial] How to manually install tweaks from Github

    Posted: 01 Jan 2018 06:46 AM PST

    Hello,

This is a tutorial to help those of you who want a tweak from a developer who has decided to stop making/updating tweaks (such as Andrew Wiik) or their repositories are not longer up thus making their tweaks unavailable from Cydia.

This applies to those who left a Github page open with all of their tweaks for the public to use.

    Step 1

    • Find a developer that has left a Github page with all of their tweaks, in this example I will be using Andrew Wiik's tweak page

    Step 2

    • Find the tweak you want. In this example I will be using Tumblr+ Which if any of you don't know allows you to save Tumblr videos to your device ( ͡° ͜Ê– ͡°)

    Step 3

    • Each and every tweak folder should contain (but not always) a sub-folder that is just an underscore ( _ ) This is what you are looking for. The rest doesn't really matter unless you plan on developing or adding on to the tweak. If the tweak folder does not contain the( _ folder) skip to step 5

    Step 4

    • Open up the ( _ folder) and you should see two more folders; DEBIAN and Library/MobileSubstrate/DynamicLibraries

    Step 5

    • Open the second folder (the path one). You should now see the .dylib and the .plist ‍ Copy both of these files. ( Sometimes it is only a .plist)

    Step 5

    • Navigate to Library/MobileSubstrate/DynamicLibraries on your device through iFile or Fileza and paste the 2 files you have previously copied.

And that's it, simply respring your device and the tweak is now installed. ‍

    ‍ ‍ ‍ ‍ Please note

Tweaks installed this way do not reflect in Cydia but they do however, reflect in iCleaner (As far as I know)

    Edit: Spelling.

[Question] Just jailbroke for my first time, what tweaks/repos would you recommend?

    Posted: 01 Jan 2018 05:19 PM PST

[News] To.panga will not receive any updates anymore. Due to many other projects what archives the same things.

[Discussion] What are some of the tweaks you’re looking forward to when Substrate is updated, and a FULL jailbreak is dropped?

    Posted: 01 Jan 2018 12:13 PM PST

I think I may have to say bio-protect, dark messages, & ad-blockers are going to be some of the first things I install. (*when updated to support the 11 JB, ofcourse).

    — I also cannot forget iCleaner!

[Question] Can my Spotify get banned for using Spotify related tweaks?

    Posted: 01 Jan 2018 04:32 PM PST

Sorry, this might be a noob question, but my Spotify account means a lot to me because of the sheer number of playlists and songs I have on it, to the point where I wouldn't be able to recreate it on a new account. So could my account be banned or deleted for tweaking Spotify?

    For me:

    1. Slices (multiple app "accounts")
    2. Some kind of system-wide adblock

Post yours! I literally cannot wait for this jailbreak to drop. Been jailbreaking since iOS 4.1!

[Question] Found iPhone X on 11.1.2 to jailbreak...any way to restore from 11.2 backup? Or just transfer messages?

    Posted: 01 Jan 2018 10:52 PM PST

I'm currently using an iPhone X on 11.2 but managed to find one on 11.1.2 (hooray jailbreak!) and am trying to find a way to transfer my data (or at the very least, messages) from the 11.2 phone to the 11.1.2 phone. I've searched here and r/iphone and asked the Googles, seems there's no definitive answer other than "nope you're SOL".

Found one suggestion to change the Build Version and Product Version in the 11.2 backup's info.plist to the respective values for 11.1.2 and then restore from that backup, but that seems too...easy? Anyone know if this works before I roll the dice and try it?

Any other options available? Of all the data on the phone I really only care about the messages. I'd try one of the many third party solutions for my texts only, but it seems most/all of them also require you to update to the newest iOS to transfer data, obviously a no-go.

Has anyone done this backward-iOS restore successfully? If so, can you share your secrets? Thanks!

[Discussion] Warning: Only install .ipa files from TRUSTED SOURCES.

    Posted: 01 Jan 2018 07:26 AM PST

I know this has already been said, and stupid people won't heed my warning, but it needs to be said again.

Any .ipa, with the help of Ian Beer's exploit, async_wake, can GAIN ROOT ACCESS, and DELETE IMPORTANT SYSTEM FILES. This means when you run it, trying to get a jailbreak, that's not from a trusted source, you will be running the risk of having to restore your device to 11.2.1, because you will be stuck in a bootloop. Don't trust any jailbreak on YouTube that's not either posted on EverythingApplePro(he's trustworthy), or iTwe4kz(also trustworthy, tho his channel seems to be dead). A real jailbreak will be at the top of this subreddit.

Again: Do not install jailbreak apps, any hacked games, or ++ apps, that are untrustworthy. You can trust Julio Verne though. If you do, you run the risk of ruining your chance at a jailbreak anytime soon.

TLDR: don't install untrustworthy apps claiming to jailbreak your phone or free money in games. It's more dangerous as it ever was before as anyone can delete critical system files.
