| Posted: 15 Jun 2022 05:10 AM PDT Hi guys, I'm new to Apple, and I got a MBA connected with a 2020 iPad Pro using sidecar. The thing is, lots of time either the connection dies brings me to the iPad lock screen, but the cursor is still able to go out of the MacBook screen as if there was a screen. Other times the second display (iPad's) just freezes, I can't see the cursor moving, tho I can still 'use it'. I always thought it was because I had a sucky internet connection, but it happens either on mobile data or strong wifi over 400Mbps, so I'd like to rule that out. In fact, after a couple of crashes, it seems to stabilize itself. What caught me by surprise is that I was at work today and my hotspot phone turned off, so I essentially had no internet access on either device. But I could still use sidecar, and with no stutters, it almost went better than ever. Can it be a bug perhaps? I'm up to date with updates (Monterey, IOS15). And can you actually use sidecar if you have no internet connection? [link] [comments] | ||
| Where did the "Stickies" Database Go In MacOS 12.4? Posted: 15 Jun 2022 08:26 AM PDT Got a new motherboard (*), so had to restore my M1 MacBook Pro from scratch. Tedious. Just about done now, but I can't figure out what happened to StickiesDatabase. Usually, that's a file that lives in ~/Library and can be overwritten with a previous version to restore saved Stickies (from another Mac) but while Stickies is working fine, there's no file of that name in ~/Library. Does anyone know what they changed and what the new approach is for copying a collection of Stickies notes from one Mac to another? Thanks! (\) If anyone's curious, my USB-C ports started failing and then my MagSafe plug failed too, so I couldn't charge my computer or use peripherals. After diagnosing it, Apple replaced both the motherboard and the power supply. Sure glad I have warranty coverage.* [link] [comments] | ||

Currently, the date, time, and region are correct but the time my mac both sets the night shift and the dark theme seems to be off between 1 and 2 hours.
