“Could not activate cellular data network” error on both my active lines (eSIM and physical SIM). Happened once last week and the only thing that resolved it was a full restore. It happened again yesterday and I’ve tried everything short of a restore to resolve this. Anyone seen this before?

Not sending photos, popping up with spam like message instead on both sides??

I spilled some water on my charging port iPhone 11.

    Posted: 15 Dec 2021 08:04 AM PST

my phone was vertically upside down and I was playing with a water bottle, and I didn't realise it still had like 10-15 drops of water in it and it went right on my charging port and speaker holes, I have switched off my device, and put it in a bag of uncooked rice but took out after 10 mins when I read on the web that it could further harm my phone...

any advice or something to calm down my anxiety.... please

Deep scratches on iPhone 12 (level 6? https://youtu.be/LP6ppSM3xq4?t=227). Though it could be caused by keys, but tried scratching an old iPhone 7 screen with them and it didn’t get anywhere near even with force. Wondering if I can look more into and find out if it could be a manufacturing defect

Mail App Taking Forever to Open an Email

    Posted: 15 Dec 2021 07:03 AM PST

So, at the company I work for there is a user who is experiencing an issue where her mail app is taking forever to load a single email. I had her update to the latest iOS version, uninstalled the app and reinstalled it, to removing her email and adding it back in. Nothing seems to work and was wondering what would be the next best step to take for it. Her Outlook is not even pulling emails from our Exchange Server either.

    How crucial is battery life?

    Posted: 15 Dec 2021 06:58 AM PST

Hi guys. I'm buying a used iPhone. My dilemma is should I get iPhone XR 64GB with a new, built-in (100%) battery OR iPhone XS 256GB with an 89% battery? The price is the same. They both came out in 2018.

I need one of these used iPhones to last me around 2 years.

I need space for around 15 000 photos (including videos) and I'd download 10-15 apps to those that are already built-in on iPhone. I stream music and don't watch movies on the phone. So, I need your advice on which to get. What do you think:

    1. If I get XR, will 64gb be enough? Is it bad that the battery had to be changed? Is it good that it's at 100% battery life now?
    2. If I get the XS, will 89% battery last for the next 2 years without disrupting my experience with the phone?

    Thanks!

    Missing 'Junk' Emails

    Posted: 15 Dec 2021 03:25 AM PST

    iPhone SE (2020) , iOS 15.0.2

    Email accounts: Outlook/GMail

About a month ago I accidentally.... Edit > Select All > Mark > Move to Junk.... when I meant to Mark as Read. Unfortunately I did this to 'All Inboxes' rather than a single one. This resulted in an estimated 40K emails getting sent to Junk across about a dozen accounts. I took a long while and moved emails from Junk to Inbox that were of any significance.

A couple weeks after that I begin to realize that I'm not getting emails that I should be. At first I believed it to be issues with the website. For example, verification code is not being received. But it started happening with multiple websites... now multiple accounts/websites across multiple inboxes.

This is what I've attempted to do to fix my issue....

-Of course... checked Junk/Spam/Deleted Items folders

I find that I'm receiving much less Junk email. 1-2 a week. Rather than the approximately 5 a day that I would expect.

    -Check Blocked Senders

I searched the list of Senders which were blocked. When I didn't find any good senders blocked, I deleted all Blocked Senders. So now nobody is blocked.

-Added the important sender email and domain to 'Safe Senders'

-Verified emails are not being forwarded

    -Deleted all email rules

    -iPhone > Settings > Mail > Blocked

Verified there was nothing erroneously marked as blocked

    -Removed email account from iPhone/Re-added

So I'm now finding that I'm unable to log into various resources that require 2FA involving my email because the emails are not being received. I've now lost access to some websites and applications with no workarounds due to not being able to receive emails. It seems like Apple quarantines emails marked as junk somewhere else. I've been completely unsuccessful finding anything though. Worst design award goes to Apple for putting Mark as Junk next to Mark as Read with no confirmation or undo button.

    Anyone have any useful thoughts?

Changing the number format while keeping the currency symbol

    Posted: 15 Dec 2021 02:48 AM PST

Using ios 15.1 on iphone SE I want to have the numbers shown in the calculator to be in the British format - separated by a comma and separated by 3 digits. I can do this by changing the region under Language & Region, but that also changes the default currency symbol.

Is it possible to change the number format only without changing the currency format?

Not sure if someone hacked my phone…again

    Posted: 14 Dec 2021 05:04 PM PST

A few years ago someone hacked my iPhone. They were sending messages in real time from my phone while I had it in hand and could see everything I was doing on my phone, as if they were sharing my screen and could control it.

I ended up going to AT&T and they shut it down, changed my number, passwords, everything and said it was over.

For the last year or so I have had the same feeling that my phone has been hacked and I am being watched again.

I was looking at my "Find My" app and I saw 2 devices I do not recognized.

They are both labeled "IPhone" and "Chris's IPhone"

I do not k ow anyone named Chris and I am wondering why his device is showing on my phone.

It's not under "Find my Friends" it's specifically under "My Devices"

    Help?

    I dropped it!

    Posted: 14 Dec 2021 07:36 PM PST

When I initially dropped it, there were some lines and a bunch of spiky black bits on the side that I presumably dropped it. It was still usable so I was just like whatever this is my life now. But the next day, the black on the side was pretty much gone! Great! Then the lines started disappearing! Awesome! Then I dropped it again got a few more lines and then they went away too. Now I have one black blob in the corner that changes it's shape very frequently.

Not if I turn my screen off and immediately back on and I've never noticed it change while I'm using my phone. Probably when I have my phone resting (or whatever you call it don't come for me) for awhile it changes but whatever.

What's up with this? Is it really bad? Is it gonna get worse and I am just being lulled into a false sense of security? Is my phone magic? What's the deal?

iphone isn't connecting to wifi, says "incorrect password" when i'm 100% sure it's correct. None of my family has had this issue, and even the password share didn't work

    Posted: 14 Dec 2021 07:11 PM PST

I haven't made any new changes right before it happened, except maube starting to download iOS 15.2 as I'm still on the latest version of iOS 14. I've removed all VPN configurations and turned them off, restarted my phone and router, and nothing has worked. It connected once or twice at one point, but then booted me again, or stopped working after I locked my phone

Iphone virus? I think I have one!!

    Posted: 14 Dec 2021 05:48 PM PST

QUESTIONS AT THE BOTTOM THIS IS A BACKSTORY >> Hi everyone. iPhone 12 user here. Weird stuff been happening lately. Yesterday afternoon I upgraded to iOS 15.2 Before that, I had around 3-4 hours a day worth of background activity on messages. that is one of my questions, I don't have background app refresh, and its winded down a bit. 3 minutes today. But now I am realizing after work that my phone is saying "recently deleted apps" every hour from 5 AM to around 7 PM. I have not installed or deleted an app within that time frame. I did delete an app last night but then re-installed, I did it to clear the cache. (Documents and Data). I'm 100% this is a virus, I mean I haven't downloaded or deleted anything. My phone is currently off and I'm wondering what to do. Please help as I am extremely paranoid about this. Thank you.

Q1: Why is messages using 3-4 hours of background activity per day even though I have background app refresh off? (Some apps like the App Store and Instagram also, background app refresh still off)

Q2. "Recently deleted apps" battery usage, 15 minutes on screen, never downloaded or deleted an app today. Pretty sure I got a virus. Phone off, ready to do anything.
