Posted: 16 Dec 2021 02:30 AM PST Hey everyone, as the title suggests, I dropped my phone off with apple 2 weeks ago to be repaired under warranty. Literally a day later, I got an email saying that the repair was complete and that it was being dispatched back to the apple store. Now, 2 weeks later, nothing. Contacted apple support, but it looks like all the info they get comes from the same web app that customers have to use, so they couldn't give me an update at all. So my question is, has this happened to anyone else here, recently? Someone said that apple are now repairing/replacing items from the uk in Czechia, which might explain why the return is taking so long. But that's a terrible idea from the customer's perspective! I don't want to uninstall it since I do listen from time to time but it's really annoying have to manually connect it to my Spotify instead every time I go in my car. I purchased a new iPhone and I'd like to backup my iPhone 7 data to my new phone. I cannot do a typical iTunes backup as my computer doesn't have enough space to store the data. I haven't backed up an iPhone in years so I'm wondering what is the best way to approach this? I googled and spoke to Apple support and was told that a good option is to purchase iCloud and backup there and then transfer the backup to the new phone. | Apple Music crashing repeatedly on macOS 12.0.1 by using > 40 GB Application Memory Posted: 16 Dec 2021 12:49 AM PST I'm on macOS 12.0.1 on MacBook Pro M1 (13", 2020, Memory 8 GB). Apple Music crashes every 5-10 minutes, showing that I've run out of Application Memory, as Apple Music uses more than 40GBs of it. | IOS 15 Update Broke Imessage Images Posted: 16 Dec 2021 12:38 AM PST After I recently updated to IOS 15 on my Xs it broke important photos sent and received in my imessage conversations. After updating to IOS 15.2 the photos have gone from fully broken question marks to tap to download which does nothing. I know I've received some security updates in the past before, but I can't find any info on when Apple stops supporting security updates for their OS versions, like Windows does with their older operating systems. I'm trying to figure out if I should be looking to upgrade to the latest compatible version of OS X or if jumping up a version or two is fine. I don't care about all the extra bells and whistles that new versions offer, just curious about security and vulnerabilities. [link] [comments] |

Posted: 15 Dec 2021 11:23 PM PST I bought an iPhone 11 and it arrived around November 26, and because of the holidays apple has an extender return period all the way to January 8th. First of all, is my device eligible for the extended return date? And since then the screen has "scratched" a lil bit, you actually have to get really close to the phone and tilt it to get a look at those scratches, but I'm thinking about returning it and buying another one and this time I would buy a screen protector and install it right away, which I should've done right away but I didnt. It happens over almost all of messaging apps like Facebook messenger, viber, google hangouts . As well as whenever someone calls me via messenger,hangouts,viber i don't get any calls but after the calls missed i am alerted that I've missed the call . My friend also has an iphone 12 pro and his phone did show the most recent ios 14 update below the ios 15 update. I have tried restarting my phone and checking iphone storage for any stored updates. I lodged a request in late Nov with iForgot. They sent an email advising me someone would be on touch on 4th Dec. This was already a problem due to the long wait time for a simple password reset. After 4th of Dec....I had heard nothing. I tried iForget and but no update there. I then started a chat with Apple Support. Eventually I learned that my initial request failed and I need to lodge a new one and again wait 2 weeks. I was also told I need to leave my device switched off until the request completes (approx 2 weeks). Am I missing something here? The situation seems so insane, surely this cannot be how Apple work? Aside from getting a new device (which after this will be an Android) is there a workaround? P.S I am caught between a rock and a hard place here. Without my proof of vaccination via the Australian gov app...I cannot visit a bar, cafe or even a swimming pool. What a state of affairs. [link] [comments] |

| "Optimize iPhone Storage" Doesn't work. Posted: 15 Dec 2021 08:50 PM PST As the title says, the option to optimize my iPhone storage isn't working. I have 2TB of iCloud storage, I have 200+ GB of photos and videos I backed up to the cloud successfully, but they're still on my phone, when I turn off photos in iCloud it prompts the ability to remove the pictures on my device, it tells me the number of pictures will be removed from my phone but then it doesn't. I've reset my phone, I've updated to the newest iOS, I've left t charging overnight with my fast internet connection, I've done everything I can think of but I can't seem to remove the photos off my phone after I backed them up other than manually deleting them. I have 50k+ items and it would be awesome if it removed it on its own but it doesn't seem to work right no matter what I try, anyone encounter this before or know any solutions? [link] [comments] |
