| Is there ANYTHING I can do to get data (photos) from disabled iPhone? Posted: 21 May 2020 10:37 PM PDT I switched to an iPhone 7 a while back and sort of forgot about my 6s for a while. I completely forgot the password and tried anything I could remember, getting myself locked out and today it came up with the screen "iPhone is disabled. Connect to iTunes." I've never backed up this phone or connected it to a computer and most of it was not backed up into iCloud. I also have an iPod and an iPad under the same apple id, neither of which I use consistently and they don't seem to share 100% of their data between them. I managed to find an old text with my passcode on the iPad though, and I sincerely regret not checking it sooner. I didn't know it was updating old texts anymore. Anyways, now that I have my passcode, is there ANYTHING at all that I can do to save my photos? I have years worth of them and it would be rather devastating. I understand if there isn't, I just needed to check here as a last resort because I don't want to jump to conclusions and restore the phone when I could have done something. [link] [comments]  |
| Posted: 21 May 2020 10:01 PM PDT I dropped my iphone 7+ into a toilet as i was going to plug it in. It fell in as it was dying and the grey circle was spinning. I didn't think much of it because its supposed to be water-resistant for 30 minutes under a meter of water, and this was only halfway submerged for a couple seconds. I still dry it off and dry the charge port and let it sit for a while and plug it in. 30 minutes of charging later and it still isn't turning on. I check for water damage but the sticker isn't there? Is there a fix for the phone and is the sticker just hard to see or something? [link] [comments]  |

| Removing Old Phone Number from Messages on iPhone Posted: 21 May 2020 07:56 PM PDT I recently cancelled my phone plan with a carrier. I plan to use the old phone without a plan using wifi and text now. I was also hoping to send texts from my apple ID using the phone. When I go into messages on the phone, my old phone number shows up still. Is there a way to remove this? Any other things I should do when I want to use the phone but don't have a number anymore? | iPhone X - Caught in a boot loop. Posted: 21 May 2020 03:46 PM PDT My iPhone X is currently caught in a boot loop. I bought it off a friend the other day who told me it was caught in the loop, but I bought it hoping to fix it. I tried restoring it in both regular restore mode, and even DFU mode but I got the same result both times. What happens is, it after I run the restores, they appear to complete like normal. When I try to start the phone, or it attempts to boot afterwords, then it shows the apple logo for a few moments; from there it quickly shows an image of the apple logo + the loading bar graphic, then instantly shuts off / restarts after showing a minimal amount of progress on the loading bar. Yesterday, when I was getting out of the car, the phone fell out of my lap and hit the ground softly in its case, and did no damage to the phone, but it then randomly booted up properly and allowed me to setup the phone. Today, the phone died and now its caught in the same boot loop as before. Any ideas? I've tried smacking it around a bit but no luck so far. I'm also currently trying to restore it again. I'm looking for any possible temporary / permanent (ideally) solutions. Thank you very much! [link] [comments]  |

I was wondering if there was any way that the phone app or a third party application could automatically enter the first part of the phone number (XXX-XXX) before the extnension in order to save me time. | Virtual sim calls won't ring on Iphone XR Posted: 21 May 2020 10:32 AM PDT Hi, I hope you guys are all fine. I have an Iphone XR and i use both a physical sim card and a virtual sim card. Everytime someone calls my physical sim card number, my phone rings just fine and i'm able to catch the call in time. It's not the case when someone calls my virtual sim number and i just get to see a missed call notification appearing and the phone has not ringed at all. I have checked everything from checking the do not disturb mode to calling my data provider (Movistar) and i was told that there was not any issue with second phone. I have an Iphone XR running IOS12.1.2. This problem appeared aout of the blue. Has this ever happened to you? | Can you explain me what is the privacy level when you have an Apple ID? Posted: 21 May 2020 10:31 AM PDT Sorry for the dumb question, but that's my level of skills when it comes to smartphones. I have an old 5S and of course I created an Apple ID for it, to download WhatsApp, Facebook etc. I don't have activated iCloud yet. I did not had a Google account on my previous Android smartphone (yes it was that old) and this is the first time I have an account to log in a phone. I'm looking for some kind of technical reassurance: is there a place that record my every move, like what sites I visit (I delete the chronology every time) or what apps I download, or what I write in the notes... I'm obviously not doing anything illegal or unpleasant, but I want to be sure that the point of having an account is not to have a database somewhere that acts like a big brother. I also have an old MacBook and I log in with username and password without any Apple ID, so I am being thrown off by the fact that on the iPhone I have to use an ID instead of being an "anonymous" user the way I am on my own computer. I want to know if there's a way for me to transfer the emails (iCloud Mail) and messages (SMS, MMS, Business Chat, iMessage) from one Apple ID to another. The solution I thought of is logging in to my old Apple ID on another iPhone so that my phone could fetch emails and messages, and then signing out and keeping iCloud data on the device. Then, I will log in to my preferred Apple ID so that the content can be uploaded to its iCloud account. However, I'm not sure if that will work or if it will get rid of the content I currently have on my preferred Apple ID. Will the emails even transfer? [link] [comments]  |

I attached pictures on my previous post on r/iphone. My phone still charges with this charger, but I have to unplug and plug my charger into my phone a couple times until the phone detects the charger. I'm worried this may damage my charger port. This happened to me a few weeks ago and I tried hard resetting it and restoring as a new phone through my computer. Though I was able to do that, it didn't fix the problem. Instead, I left it alone overnight and it was fine the next day. Yesterday however, I noticed my screen flashing in a strange way shortly before it stopped working at all. I left my phone alone overnight, hoping again for that to fix it, but was not as lucky this time. I don't know what could have caused this, but it seems to me like it could be a physical problem (water damage?) but I can't recall any incident that would have damaged it. Any suggestions? | iPhone X Video and Audio Problems Posted: 21 May 2020 05:37 AM PDT iPhone X running 13.5 wont play videos in camera roll, the play button turns into the pause button but the video isn't playing. Videos sent to others play fine on another phone. Music doesn't play, voice recorder wont record, it just stops immediately. Pandora wont play and I get an error "pandora encountered a problem that paused the music". Youtube videos do not play in safari. I've tried resetting all the settings on the phone. Next step will probably be a DFU update. Anybody have any other ideas? thank you! [link] [comments]  |

She used to own an iPhone 6S before switching over to an Android phone and I was unsure if she only had the option to do one thing or another. I mainly need to restore her apps, contacts and iCloud photo library and get her on the same Apple ID she uses as her iPad, but I'd also like to transfer over her messages, and any new photos from her Android.
