How do you prevent alarm from going off while you’re on a call? Posted: 13 Dec 2021 07:06 PM PST When I'm on a call, the clock alarm (for reminders) goes off as loud as possible and startles me and interrupts my call. How do I get those to stop going off while I'm on a call, or at least have the alarm volume be reduced? [link] [comments]
Anyway to Disable/Limit "No Cell Coverage" without having to use Airplane mode? Posted: 13 Dec 2021 11:48 PM PST Is there anyway to limit this to some extent? I've browsed a bit and the only answer seems to be to enable Airplane Mode? Why? How about an, "off", setting that will prompt an "enable" alert when you are dialing or texting without a connection to a Wi-Fi network? Why would anyone want to burn battery looking for cell coverage they will never find when Wi-Fi calling is functional? I work in a hospital basement (20+ feet underground, surrounded by numerous concrete walls) so naturally we don't have cell coverage. I use Wi-Fi calling and and my iPhone 8 seemed to do fine. Granted, I never really looked at the battery usage because I chalked up the battery drain to just being an old-ass phone. Recently upgraded to a 13 Pro Max and didn't seem to be getting the battery boost I thought I would so I checked the usage. Currently, 52% of the battery usage is attributed to, "No Cell Coverage". Why? [link] [comments]

Is there an email app similar to the new Hide My Email feature in 15.2? Posted: 13 Dec 2021 09:39 PM PST The iPhone upgrade also comes with an addition to Hide My Email, which allows you to mask your email address directly from your Apple Mail app. This new iOS 15.2 feature is also really simple to use—and privacy enhancing—because it means you can hide your real email address from marketers. You still receive the emails on your iPhone, but if you revoke the fake email address Apple has created, their spam will simply disappear. [link] [comments]
Is your iPhone 13 (Pro) getting scratched super easy? Posted: 13 Dec 2021 05:22 PM PST I had an XS Max before this phone for 3 years. No real scratches. I had my iPhone 13 pro for a month and it's got deep scratches. Anyone else finding the iPhone 13s are getting scratched far too easy? And yes I know about screen protecters. I never needed one with my 6S or my XS Max. Wasn't expecting them to get WORSE. It feels like the "ceramic shield" or whatever they call it scratches easier but is harder to crack. Does Apple Care cover this? Or does my phone have to have an accident? [link] [comments]
Posted: 13 Dec 2021 08:39 PM PST I go about a month with every phone charger before it craps out! I'm tired of spending so much money on crappy phone chargers that crap out. What should I do? [link] [comments]
Posted: 13 Dec 2021 10:53 AM PST Why might an iphone be using 20-40GB of wifi data every day? I recently received a notification that our household cable internet plan it about to exceed it's 500GB allotment for the month of December. Thankfully, the router tracks usage per device, and it comes down to my partner's iPhone. This behavior is new; November's data usage was normal (but maybe a tiny bit high, considering we traveled). We disabled the Podcast auto download, but even that was only 90GB of storage, and almost certainly accumulated slowly, not daily. Beyond some moderate streaming (Peacock), nothing stand out, and I don't see any way to track wifi data usage on the device. In comparison, the Android in the home has used 20GB for the month to date, almost entirely YouTube and Disney. Any ideas on what the source of the data usage could be? [link] [comments]
Annoying problem with missed call notifications since iphone updated to ios 15.1 Posted: 13 Dec 2021 08:35 PM PST Phone Model: Iphone 11 pro OS: 15.2 Hi there. My iphone 11 pro has developed a weird issue since it updated to ios 15. My missed call notifications no longer show a contact name, they only show the phone number. I just updated to ios 15.2, but the problem persists. Does anyone have a solution to this annoying problem? [link] [comments]

Posted: 13 Dec 2021 07:41 PM PST When FaceTiming with someone, if I am making any noise at all, talking, shuffling around in the background, doing dishes, etc. my phone will completely mute the recipient's voice. It only happens on one end. Like, if they are talking over me on their side, they can still hear my voice but I can't hear them if I talk over my phone audio. Does anyone know why this happens and how I can fix it? Is there just a certain setting one of us needs to turn off? [link] [comments]

ios 12.5.5 all but bricked my phone? Posted: 13 Dec 2021 05:18 PM PST Hi all, I have an iphone 6 on Verizon that cannot update beyond iOS 12.5.5 (not even a 6S! just a standard 6.) I knew some people were having issues with 12.5.5 so I'd held off on updating and was perfectly fine on the previous version, but accidentally activated the update on Saturday night. Since then, I can barely connect to wifi–if my phone can, miraculously, find the wifi networks, the connection drops every few seconds and is incredibly weak when I do manage to finally connect, and usually it can't even find my home wifi at all. My GPS doesn't work, and if it does work it drops frequently and doesn't give functional directions. Even just cell service has become incredibly spotty and most of my phone calls drop. This happened immediately after updating. 12.5.5 can't be downgraded from and I do not have a recent backup, so I can't get around it. Since then I have:
Like, I'm sure this is some kind of planned obsolescence thing, and even though I'm a creature of spite and ready to drop Apple and every associated product forever, it's gonna take some time and expense to get a different phone and transfer everything I have, and I'm kind of furious that my perfectly-functioning phone is now all but useless overnight. Is there anything I can do to fix this? [link] [comments]

solving "Unable to Load photo" issue with photos Posted: 13 Dec 2021 05:08 PM PST I had this happen to a lot of my photos when I maxed my storage but I've deleted/imported a ton of photos to clear space and many photos are still having the error that says: "Unable to Load photo, An error occurred while loading a higher quality version of this photo" is it an Icloud problem? since I am not using Icloud rn I'm thinking maybe I should just log back in but idk. Posted: 13 Dec 2021 02:02 PM PST Hello. Bought a new phone and started to transfer all data to new iPhone through Bluetooth. After some time on my old iPhone 7 popped up the message, that there is an error and transfer interrupted. Everything was fine and worked, I checked free space on my old phone, and there was around 170 mb left. I decided to restart it (it helps to get some free space by deleting temp files). But after that it never showed my Lock Screen. It stuck on black screen with apple logo and reboots after some time. Force restart doesn't help. When I connect to iTunes it suggests to make and update or backup from saved copy. First one I think is impossible, because phone don't have enough space for iOS 15. Any ideas? If it's a storage issue, maybe there is a way to clear some space with third party apps? Don't wanna loose data on my phone. It has iOS 14.1 [link] [comments]
Stolen iPhone - Activation Lock email Posted: 13 Dec 2021 12:33 PM PST Please delete if not allowed : I got my phone stolen in Paris last week (a classic blunder) and I couldn't track it on Find My because the thief turned it off. Well just now I received two scammy text messages in french saying how my "lost iPhone" had been found and it redirected me to a link to enter my Apple ID info (which I did NOT do). I activated erase device so it erased itself once the phone got online (I didn't get to see the location though, womp womp) and then I got an email from actual Apple about the "Activation Lock is requesting your password for..." Is my data safe in this case? As long as I don't hand out my info I'm all good, right? Should I remove the device now? [link] [comments]
How to switch iphones with someone Posted: 13 Dec 2021 08:43 AM PST My mom and I want to switch iPhones, we're on the same Spring family plan. I think all we need to do is back up our iphones/icloud and then restore phones and sign back in to each other's phones with our own apple account. Is that right? Thank you! [link] [comments]
