| I have to back up my bosses iPhone 4 Posted: 16 Dec 2021 05:18 AM PST She has years of client information and photographs, the only computer we have is a Dell computer at the office, She's upgrading to an iPhone 12 but her phone can't do a cloud back up, even the Verizon guy says it's too old, what is the safest way to back up all of her contacts/data/photographs? | Posted: 16 Dec 2021 12:09 PM PST I take a lot of pictures at work and I am looking for a way to organize them in the photos app without them cluttering up all my personal photos on my phone. On android gallery apps you are able to create a folder and place albums in it and move the pictures in there. But iPhone has them all in the recents cluttering everything, if I make an album it just copies the image but stays in the recents. | Different behavior on websites launched from “Add to Home Screen” icon Posted: 16 Dec 2021 05:17 AM PST I like news.google.com but I don't like their app. I went to the website in Safari and selected "Add to Home Screen". That creates an icon that when opened launches news.google.com in a quasi-browser. It has limitations that irritate me. I would like the shortcut icon to open news.google.com in Safari unencumbered by whatever is being done with the icon created by "Add to Home Screen". I will list the differences if someone asks. But it can easily be reproduced/tested. Also I can understand tech jargon if you know why it has to be this way. In the shortcut browser, you are confined to the url of the shortcut. There is no way to navigate except by links. I am assuming iOS does not allow two Safaris (or any app) running at the same time. I just wish I could have the shortcut icon launch Safari or open the url in a new tab if safari is already running. [link] [comments] | ||

Posted: 16 Dec 2021 09:35 AM PST Pre-15.2, if I didn't interact with a notification from the summary, it would move to Notification center after a while and be there until I interact with it. Ever since I updated to 15.2, it seems to me like the whole summary and all notifications in it get dismissed as soon as the next summary arrives. Example: I have 4 summaries in a day, and my news app delivers notifications in the summary. I get a news notification in the first summary of the day, but usually I only read those in the evening, so I leave it there to read later. At noon, the next summary arrives with new notifications, and all the notifications from the first summary get removed. This is awful because it creates the possibility of me missing notifications entirely if I don't look at my phone in between summaries. Is this some kind of bug, or intended behavior? | Posted: 16 Dec 2021 12:26 PM PST So a little background a few months ago my bookmarks on safari between mac os and ios stopped syncing I browsed thru forums and posts here on reddit with no luck finally called apple support , I followed all instructions and nothing worked , Support tech said he needs to bump it up to engineering and to wait a week for them to call, after a week apple engineers called walked me thru a few steps and nothing worked this went on for about 3 weekly phone calls , finally i was told that they are aware of this issue and have been trying to fix this , I use my bookmarks for work and need them on my ios device and imac , I feel like there is no fix except to switch to windows and android [link] [comments] | ||

On macOS when I use the "All Inboxes" view it clearly says at the top of each message preview which Inbox that email belongs to. Im not sure but i remember having difficulty setting the scroll direction on my bluetooth mouse and the trackpad. I wanted my mouse to be standard and my trackpad to be natural. One person sends a video at 8:30AM and every other phone has the video in the chain except for me. | Can't login to any google app on iPhone Posted: 16 Dec 2021 04:29 AM PST Hi, got a new phone today, 13 Pro Max if it matters, but when I go to login to any google apps such as YouTube, Gmail, or even just adding my google account to the mail app through settings it just gets stuck on the first page where it asks you for the email, I put the email in and press next, but then it just gets stuck loading and doesn't even show the password prompt, is there anyway to fix this? I've tried reinstalling the app, restarting, and updating my phone but nothing has worked. It's essentially any app that brings up the accounts.google.com page to log in. Is this just google servers down? Or is there a way I can sort this out? | Not getting iOS update notification on iPhone 12 Posted: 16 Dec 2021 04:46 AM PST I'm not getting any ios update notification on my iPhone 12 and have to manually check every time in software update settings. ios 15.2 dropped 3 days ago and in my software update settings i have enabled both download and install ios automatically but it doesn't download( connected to wifi as well) and no notifications are shown as well.
