TvOS 15.2 doesn’t remove screensaver when content is resumed Posted: 16 Dec 2021 03:45 AM PST When I pause content and the Apple TV automatically switches to screen saver mode, it will not get out of screen saver mode when you resume content through iPhone or HomePod, the audio will continue but you must select back or use the trackpad to remove the screen saver. Apple software is really pissing me off recently 🙄 [link] [comments]
Remote App for Windows? Android? Posted: 16 Dec 2021 06:27 AM PST im traveling with my appletv and didnt bring the physical remote, usually just use my iPhone, but it is dead right now, and that got me thinking.. is there a remote app on other platforms that i can control my appleTV from? Windows? Android? having trouble searching as when people ask with these keywords "remote control appletv windows" they usually mean sending media or using a remote to control a windows system. Posted: 16 Dec 2021 03:00 AM PST Hi all, having some strange behaviour with one of my ATV remotes, I have 3 boxes in my house, 2 1st Gen 4K and one new one. The new one I use a harmony remote with so I paired that new Siri Remote with one of the older boxes. Now here's the strange thing, on occasions completely randomly the remote pairs itself again with the box it came with I.e. not the box I'm using it with! Really frustrating as I use it as the only remote on the other TV so when it's done that I have to dig out my TV remote and then repair the Apple TV one. I know it's pairing with the wrong box as some times when I'm watching that one it just pops up saying remote connected. Anyone else experienced anything similar and any solutions? Prime Video really sucks in ATV... Why? Posted: 15 Dec 2021 04:44 PM PST I'm kind of new to Apple TV (but not so much to other streaming platform and services) and I love it, it's fast, looks great, the integration with services, etc. But I've been wondering why the Prime Video app sucks so much in it?. There's no "skip intro" or skip when an ad comes in, the x-ray function is broken and the overall UX is not so good. It makes me think of its version in Roku from like two years ago. Literally. Even the WebOS app is updated and works good. Why do you think it's like this? is it because of Fire TV? Roku is also a competitor for it and their app is pretty decent. And, well, they do have the integration feature (unlike Netflix), so it doesn't make much sense to me and this is why is one of the services I prefer to use on my TV's app instead. /rant [link] [comments]
YouTube/Google keeps calling my Apple TV Darwin? Posted: 15 Dec 2021 10:38 PM PST Is this normal? When I verified my sign in google said sign in to device Darwin. I think there is history there for OS Anyway, that isn't what I named that device. Thanks [link] [comments]
Does it matter which AppleTV generation I buy if I just want to stream movies from my phone to TV? Posted: 15 Dec 2021 07:00 PM PST I have a smart TV that already has HBO, Netflix, Disney+, Hulu and Amazon Video(these are just the streaming apps I use). But most times I just pirate movies like watch them on websites. I could use my laptop but I'd prefer to stream on a 70" TV [link] [comments]
Choppiness when using Airplay from Mac Posted: 15 Dec 2021 06:49 PM PST Hi all, I've scoured every resource on the internet for my current issue that has plagued me when I try to watch videos on my Macbook Air (2020 model) streamed to my Apple TV (4k) via Airplay and haven't found a solution that works. Basically when I try to use Airplay to watch a video on my Mac through my TV, the playback is extremely choppy, especially during times where there is al ot of motion or movement in the video. I'm assuming this means it's some issue with the frame rate when Airplay is trying to stream to my TV, but i have yet to find a solution to this problem. Anyone have any tips to help fix this issue? Thank you! [link] [comments]
Is it fine to buy Apple TV from Amazon? Posted: 15 Dec 2021 06:47 PM PST I'll be saving $10 if I do it this way. I'm just not sure if buying Apple products on Amazon has any downsides: Will I get a used item? What about warranty, how does l that work? [link] [comments]
Two questions about adding an additional user Posted: 15 Dec 2021 02:58 PM PST I want to add my wife as an additional user on our ATV4K device. She has an apple account. I have an Apple One family account she is connected to. So, if I add her as an additional user:
