Just an annual reminder for AW noobs Posted: 16 Nov 2021 11:06 AM PST If you run the heart rate app it measures your heart rate every 3 seconds. If you have a series 4, 5, 6, or 7 and touch a thumb or finger to the crown like you do for an ECG, it updates every second. Small feature with no use, but nice to know. [link] [comments]
[LPT] If you're frugal but love the sapphire glass on the SS models, buy the last gen USED Posted: 17 Nov 2021 08:52 AM PST I have always loved SS Apple watches and have bought them new since S0. I bought my S0 SS for $800 and had to sell it for $120 when I upgraded to S4 SS. That hurt. One year laterI when S5 came out, I started really wanting the always on display but decided to cave, because it's ridiculous how fast SS AW goes down in value in %, compared to the aluminum version. When S7 came out, I looked at FB marketplace. A used S6 SS was around $400 and S5 SS was $300. I ended up buying an S6 SS for $400 that had 15 months of Applecare+ left and selling my S4 SS for $250, basically upgrading two generations for ~$100. Painless. Now that I love S7's bigger screen, I'm gonna wait till S8 comes out to upgrade (unless S8 has some amazing new features, then I'd wait for another year). Maybe I'll upgrade to an Hermes version this time, which goes for just an additional $100 used, compared to a $500 premium when you buy them new. Just my two cents. TL;DR: because SS AW's resale value goes down must faster than the aluminum version, buy them used if you can wait. [link] [comments]
Profession where Apple Watch is especially useful? Posted: 16 Nov 2021 03:56 PM PST I see a lot of nurses, doctors, and teachers who love and rave about their apple watches and I totally understand how it would be super useful in those professions. What I'm wondering is if you're in another profession other than those and the Watch is especially useful for your job too? Just curious :) [link] [comments]
Couple of questions before I buy my first Apple Watch Posted: 17 Nov 2021 07:29 AM PST So hearing some great things about the heart rate tracking on the Apple Watch and I'm going to be swapping my Fitbit Ionic for a series 7. Could I ask you a few questions first? Cellular, do you reckon it's worth it? I don't take my phone with me when running so it would be a nice to have then, but my running basically totals two hours a week, and other than that I have my phone with me constantly, would I need it for certain apps? Spotify, I have a premium account, don't use Apple music anymore. I hear that's there's a watch-specific app, again running-related, if I paired the watch with air pods would I be able to listen to music without taking my phone with me? Thanks [link] [comments]

Is the Apple Watch series 3 still functional Posted: 17 Nov 2021 05:07 AM PST I saw with Black Friday coming up it was going to be $100 which seems pretty cheap so I'm debating buying one (I've never had an Apple Watch before) but i know with the iPhones the older models become kinda wacky after about 4 to 5 models come out so would y'all say it is worth getting the series 3 or not? Posted: 17 Nov 2021 04:03 AM PST What's the best weightlifting app to track it? The standard Apple watch app don't have many functions. [link] [comments]
Apple Watch Band Compatability Question Posted: 17 Nov 2021 04:59 AM PST I want to buy one of the braided solo loops or magnetic leather ones from apple. My first instinct was to look for cheaper ones but the reviews aren't so great and I know apple makes good quality products. However, I have a particular worry about this. The bands are expensive. I see them as more of an investment in comfort and fit, but I don't know if the next gen apple watch is likely to support the same bands (I think all the previous ones do?) I'm not expecting anyone to give definitive comments on the next gen apple watch but what do you guys think the chances of the band staying the same are? For me, spending nearly $100 for a band is not something I can do more than once. I feel I should have gotten them earlier, but I don't pay a lot of attention to that stuff saw a few weeks ago how nice the braided solo and magnetic link bands look. edit: compatibility [link] [comments]

Do refurbished watches need to be paired again? Posted: 17 Nov 2021 07:54 AM PST My apple watch needs a battery replacement, and im currently not using an iPhone with it. My last iPhone required repairs while I was overseas, with no authorized apple resellers nearby, putting it out of warranty. Then it died completely after I got back, leaving me to use an android replacement until I can afford a new one. So, if it gets unpaired, it's unusable. If I send it in for a battery replacement, will I need to pair it again? [link] [comments]

Whats the "simplest" 3 in 1 charging pad that is good quality? Posted: 17 Nov 2021 09:35 AM PST Really want a nice looking, simple 3 in 1 charging pad for Apple phone, watch, and pods. I would prefer it be a pad and have good reviews. Price range is $100-$150. Was looking at this Satechi charging pad but doesn't seems a little unknown. Anyone know of anything that meets these specs? [link] [comments]

ADHD management: which series and which apps? Posted: 16 Nov 2021 06:29 PM PST Do you use your watch to help your ADHD? What do you use that helps? What ends up being too distracting? Which watch do you own and do certain features of that series help inherently (or hinder)? Thanks! [link] [comments]
