Has anyone else tried it yet? I have a 7th gen iPad 2019 and it runs really choppy and not sure if it's just me or my hardware

IPhone Grip for Touch Screen Gaming?

    Posted: 12 Aug 2021 09:19 AM PDT

So I'm looking to play a game that does not have controller support (Final Fantasy Tactics) but holding my phone in landscape and controlling with touchscreen isn't comfortable. I'm looking for a grip that makes it more ergonomic. There's plenty (such as the backbone) with included controls but I just need the ergonomics set up in such a way as it's comfortable to use touch controls.

Anyone have experience with such a grip? Thanks!

    Any good simple portrait games?

    Posted: 11 Aug 2021 09:17 PM PDT

I'd like a game that is easy to pass the time and doesn't require much attention like Solitairica and Crossy road. As mentioned in the title I'd like it to be in portrait mode and I'm willing to spend a few dollars.

Recommendations: Casual games while listening, studying, etc

    Posted: 11 Aug 2021 04:26 PM PDT

What are your favorite casual games to play while listening to podcasts?

Much like fidget cubes on steroids, I find some iOS games help my mind to keep from going to left field when trying to focus on an audiobook, a lecture, a podcast, videos, etc. For many people who easily drift off/get distracted, such a game can help them find focus, and actually retain a lot more of what they're listening to, and even more importantly: stave off that mind numbing boredom that causes you to turn the audio completely off and go play video games or drink with friends when you should be studying!

I have a couple that I go to (solitaire and risk clones), but have long since gotten old and I'm looking for your rec's!

What I am lookin for: - simple game with little to no thinking or reading required, so one can focus on other stuff - turn based. Gotta be able to stop so I can focus on what I'm listening to! Live action games force focus on the game itself and make it harder to concentrate on the audio content. - something easy to put down. Whether I need to take care of something, help out a friend, etc: a the best causal games can be played for two minutes or two hours! - no "pay to play" in app purchase traps, please; either free, or buy once and done! - Ideally, minimal ads, since they take me out of whatever I'm listening to. Free is great but I'll pay a few bucks for a good game. Apple Arcade games would be a plus since I've already got that. - doesn't have to be brainless. strategy is ok so long as the game lets you take your time to figure it out.

These games can get redundant quickly, so the more suggestions, the merrier! Thanks for your time!

    Sharing this real-time PvP gem

    Posted: 11 Aug 2021 04:12 PM PDT

    Link: Overdox

First of all - disclosure - I am not affiliated with the game mentioned in any way (check my post history).

I was trying to find a non-predatory PvP game that has real-time combat. I used to enjoy Battle Bay but it hasn't been maintained for a while and chances are Rovio will axe it.

Tried pretty much all other PvP titles that get mentioned but found them either bot-ridden, or skewed towards whales, or plain shallow.

Now I think I did find the unicorn - Overdox. It's not predatory in it's F2P model, has a very deep combat with multiple variables. Looks great (not too cartoony, not too dark overly serious, not a cookie-cutter anime), has room to grow, has events, a decent player base, not a clone of anything else.

The only 2 things I wish it had are some clan-based mechanic with team-based combat and more meanigful way to chat. Besides that it's pretty much perfect as far as solo real-time PvP goes.

Note: It may look somewhat chaotic in the first 1-2 fight, but it's not. Just the overhead of having somewhat detailed design

    Cooperative Multiplayer Euchre

    Posted: 11 Aug 2021 02:26 PM PDT

Are there any euchre games that 2 local people on separate devices can play together against the computer? We'd rather not play other people: just the computer. And it'd be fun to be on the same team and play against it.
