Apple Watch saved me from a weird situation this morning Posted: 18 Aug 2021 07:07 AM PDT I walk my dogs every morning. These are small dogs, 15lbs and 30lbs. I usually go out early, like 4am early. I recently activated my Apple Watch LTE service so I have been leaving my iPhone at home when I go for a walk. On this mornings walk, we were being stalked by a coyote. It isn't usual to see coyotes on our walk, they usually just scurry off and leave us alone but this one had followed us for at least a half a mile. It kept ducking behind bushes trying to be stealthy. It was dark so it was hard to keep track of it. Since we couldn't shake it, I decided to call my girlfriend to come get me and our dogs. I was able to use the Apple Watch to make a call and have my girlfriend pick me and the dogs up. The call quality was great and she picked us up in no time. I love how far technology has come. Anyhow, I thought I would share a positive story about my Apple Watch. Have a safe day everyone. Oh and it is an Apple Watch 4, 44mm if anyone cares. [link] [comments]

Posted: 17 Aug 2021 04:48 PM PDT Can't figure it out. Sometimes I'll pace around my apartment for five minutes before the watch grants me my shiny blue bar. Should I be doing something different? [link] [comments]

apple watch series 6 screen problem Posted: 18 Aug 2021 04:00 AM PDT I notice this screen problem on my apple watch series 6 cellular only for this phase - infograph modular .. the problem: when I touch the screen the screen turn on dimer and then turns on to a full brightness display. https://reddit.com/link/p6ourw/video/xgxapcdu34i71/player Is this happens to your apple watch series 6 too ? Anyone else's Spotify complication turned white? Posted: 18 Aug 2021 06:55 AM PDT I use the Infograph face because I like all the colours on it, but recently my Spotify complication has turned white when none of the others have. Has anyone else had this happen and does anyone know the fix? [link] [comments]

Why am I having massive HRV spikes? Posted: 17 Aug 2021 08:33 PM PDT Newbie here. Average HRV is 35ms but sometimes it will spike to 100 or more! Once it was, I kid you not, 288!? Now that is not a normal thing but is that even possible? I am pretty unhealthy (physically and emotionally) at the moment and very poor aerobic fitness. And I am exercising. Hard. For the first time in my life. Just don't know if these spikes are good or bad. I'm 24, female, by the way, and like I said not very fit at all (VO2 max is depressingly low: 26). My resting heart rate is 82bpm but changes frequently. They usually happen after a moderate dip. For instance, today my HRV dropped to 26ms, and then the next measurement a couple hours after (and not sleeping) was in 156ms! Often it only spikes to 70 or 80 but sometimes it spikes all the way above 100 and twice above 200! I have also worn different HRV trackers (apple watch and oura ring) for short periods of time and noticed somewhat similar patterns. Often this happens after an intense workout (I so unfit that my heart rate regularly gets up and stays around 180-90 for a while when cycling outside so maybe i'm over doing it?) but not always. I do have depression and an anxiety disorder though, too. Sometimes I am worried about arrhythmia and irregular heart beats (I have heart palpitations and sometimes have gotten crazy EKG self readings on multiple devices but everyone tells me it's probably just a problem with the measurements). I even wore a holter (heart) monitor for a couple of days once (ordered by my doc) after complaining about dizziness and low blood pressure but they found nothing... alas Any insight? Workout app that lets you enter your own exercises Posted: 17 Aug 2021 03:48 PM PDT I wanted to set up a workout that I can track with my watch but enter custom names for exercises rather than a pre-curated list. I found a few that have programs set out for you and that's great - but I want to be able to enter a given exercise and also keep track of reps and maybe other information for it. Does anyone know of any? Thanks in advance! [link] [comments]
Something to wear during my sports instead of my watch to track my fitness? Posted: 17 Aug 2021 02:14 PM PDT One of my soccer league doesn't allow us to wear watches during our games. In my other league, which is non-competitive I can and I enjoy seeing how much I run and other things like that. Is there something I can buy that works with my watch and the fitness app to track everything? Apologies if this is a dumb question. Tried googling but wasn't sure what exactly to google. What is better to upgrade to from S3 Posted: 17 Aug 2021 11:25 AM PDT I want to upgrade from a S3 to a SE, S4 or S5. My dilemma is though the S5 is newer, is it objectively better than the S4? Does it have more watch faces and customizations? Because on paper, they seem to have basically the same features apart from memory and a compass which I don't really care about. So is an S5 worth the extra money? Does the SE have enough to be the same price as an S5 (in my region) Edit. Ended up settling for the Series 5! And I love it [link] [comments] |
