So I guess I just need to go thru and change all my passwords. Is there an easier way to change them and/or see which PW was breached? I have soo many passwords and idk the best course of action without doing individually so. I mean, I definitely will change all of them but I'm hoping there's some way to help take care of it faster and ease my nerves even just a tiny bit. I think I read somewhere that iPhones (and apple products in general??) are very difficult to infect with malware because of the security of iPhones or something like that. I searched the email it was sent from, I've searched the general idea of these messages to find out if it's a common scam or whatever, I don't have a webcam that I frequently use (my desktop has a camera slider, and I don't use my mac a whole ton), I read somewhere that it's unlikely real since they didn't actually say anything that would point directly to me, etc. Is it possible my phone actually is infected? Or is it something I can block and be okay? I have severe anxiety as it is (unimportant) but I feel like I can safely say this is a scam, but even then I'm really stressed about this. So whenever i listen to my voice mail it sounds like i put my hands on the microphone or something, the sound disappears. its hard to describe because english is not my main language. | Posted: 11 Apr 2021 03:01 PM PDT Apologies for the lengthy title. The other day I received in the mail a fresh battery for my iPhone 8 Plus and immediately got to installing it. I took it for granted that within an hour I'd have a new, fresh battery installed in my phone and wouldn't have to get another battery for at least two more years. Well, things didn't go as planned and while installing it I managed to knock my phone to the floor, damaging one of the ribbon cables in the process (and, from what I can tell, nothing else). Though it was my first time working on a phone, I have experience fixing computers, various types of electronics, mechanical devices and watched online iPhone battery installation tutorials beforehand so I felt confident I wouldn't screw up. My mistake was that I chose to work with very little desk space and way too close to the edge of the desk. I paid the price and learned from my mistake. Anyway, here's a photo of the cable that was damaged. A few questions:

I'm trying to retrieve my entire iMessage thread between my best friend and I that spanned from around 2012 to 2016. She passed away suddenly in 2016 and I've had our conversations saved for these 5 years but cannot find them anywhere anymore. They were on my old iPhone 6, which I still have, and phone numbers and iCloud logins haven't changed since. Everything works fine for other people, but when I log into any of my wifi's, the internet is super slow and I can barely watch a youtube video with the lowest quality because it loads and stops every 5 seconds. I remember getting a network update notification but I kept ignoring it and now I feel that's why this happens. IMPORTANT: I've tried resetting the network settings and that didn't help at all. Background I have an iPhone SE1 (i.e. the 2016 edition), and I'm looking to replace this with the SW2 (i.e. the 2020 edition). Previously, I had an iPhone 4S, which I used with O2 pay-as-you-go. I bought the SE1 from a nearby O2 shop, and they got me all set up. But this time around, owing to the pandemic, I'd be happier ordering the SE2 from the Apple Store UK and having it delivered to my house. My question Will the SE2 come with a sim card, and if so how would I get it working so that I can keep my current phone number? Will ordering the SE2 from Apple Store UK involve giving them my existing phone number, and they'll send the sim card in a ready-to-go form? Would it be easier if I just remove the sim card from my SE1 and put it in the SE2? Would that even be possible? Any advice would be very much appreciated! [link] [comments]  |
| iPhone 12 Pro scrolling a little sticky? Posted: 11 Apr 2021 12:10 PM PDT Hi fellow iPhone peeps, I recently upgraded from an iPhone 8+ to an iPhone 12 Pro. Strangely, I feel like the scrolling (up and down, side-to-side, in-app, in browsers, etc.) on my new iPhone is stickier and less smooth than it is for my iPhone 8+ and even for my iPad Pro. It's definitely noticeable and very annoying. I'm wondering if it's a hardware issue on my device, or it's to be expected from any iPhone 12 Pro unit. Is it a frame rate/OLED issue? A software issue that will be addressed in future iOS's? Does anyone else with an iPhone 12 Pro notice this? Any insight would be appreciated! | iPhone XR wont play music or videos Posted: 11 Apr 2021 08:54 AM PDT Hi, My iPhone freezes every second if I play music or videos. I've regularly restarted it. Restarted wifi, cellular data. I did a hard restart (press volume up, volume down, then hold the button on the right). I took out the SIM card and put it back. Nothing is fixing this issue. My service is fine. If I disconnect my headphones, there isn't even an option to play music. It removes the volume bar slider completely. When my headphones are in, if I tap play over and over I can hear music / video audio, but it pretty much pauses instantly. Without headphones, doesn't play at all. Internet works fine. I can browse Reddit no issues. I actually am able to watch videos with audio on Reddit. When I play music on Apple Music or videos on YouTube or streaming apps, it doesn't play. Even tiktok works fine with Audio and video having no issues. Anyone know what's wrong and a fix? [link] [comments]  |
| Photo app issues and factory reset questions? Posted: 11 Apr 2021 06:55 AM PDT Hi! So recently I just factory reset my iPhone a couple times and changed a lot of settings for optimal battery, and now that I've downloaded back my apps there's an issue with the photo app. So for example the app Instagram when I took a selfie and pressed the save button so it saved into the photos app it would automatically create a new folder called "Instagram", but now it doesn't do that anymore for any apps. I'm really worried I've damaged my iPhone somehow by factory resetting it multiple times after already factory resetting it, if so have I permanently damaged my iPhone or is it even possible to damage iPhone through factory resetting? I'm also worried if it was one of the options I changed in the settings, if so which one could it be? Lastly I'm wondering if it was the new 14.4.2 update which did this could anybody confirm and try this themselves and see if I'm the only one or not? I hope all these answers could be answered any help is appreciated thank you! I'm really worried I damaged my iPhone also because it's pretty new :( (I've got an iPhone 11 if that info is necessary.) I used to put it into iTunes and then transfer that way but I no longer have a PC so that isn't an option. I am subscribed to Apple Music but as a mainly rap/hip-hop listener I am missing out on tons of music due to mixtapes that aren't available on Apple Music.
