    Google Drive download progress

Is there a way to view how much percentage of a file has been downloaded from Google Drive? I'm downloading a 500MB as i type, and I've been unable to leave the screen for half an hour now, as it says "Downloading" but doesn't tell me how much of the file has been downloaded so that I can decide whether to abort or wait it out. It's my first Apple device, and I hope there's a way to view how much progress the download is at.

Weylus - Use your iPad as Graphic Tablet/Touch Screen on your Computer (Open Source)

    Posted: 16 Apr 2021 04:40 PM PDT

Weylus mirrors the screen of your computer to your iPad and lets you use it for touch and pen input. It works best on Linux where multi touch and pressure sensitivity is supported, the macOS and Windows versions have a very reduced feature set in comparison. Weylus makes it easy to draw something or take handwritten notes (this is what I mostly do) on your computer using your iPad.

Strictly speaking Weylus is not an app and you do NOT install it on your iPad. Instead all you need to do is install the desktop program. After starting Weylus on your desktop you can just connect to it via browser. If you want to, you can then use the browser option: "add to home screen" to enable full screen and make Weylus easily accessible.

The project can be found here: https://github.com/H-M-H/Weylus and downloads are available at: https://github.com/H-M-H/Weylus/releases/latest

Please note that due to a Safari/WebKit bug you may have to disable the scribble feature to make Weylus work nicely.

If you are a developer and want to improve Weylus, contributions are always welcome!

Paper-like screen protectors vs. glass screen protectors

    Posted: 16 Apr 2021 06:55 PM PDT

hey guys, i'm wondering what your thoughts are on paper-like screen protectors and normal glass screen protectors. im having mixed feelings about paper-like screen protectors and i'm starting to think they aren't as good as the hype makes them seem. for background, i'm a first year biochemistry student using my ipad to take notes and do pretty much all of my schoolwork. i'm planning on upgrading to the newest ipad pro once it's released because right now i'm using a first generation ipad pro that i've had for 5 years and i think it's just gotten to the point where it's too old to keep up with how much i need to use it. for those who use their ipad for note taking and use a glass screen protector, how have you liked it? does it make it harder to write on the screen, is it comfortable, etc etc. thank u in advance, i really appreciate the input and advice!

Best note-taking app for both typing and drawing? Ie. Typing next to powerpoints and drawing on them.

Thank you! I heard about Notability, but I'm not sure if I can type on them without it being a hassle (creating a textbook).
