    Is there any way to permanently delete the word "fir" from my iPhone's dictionary? I am sick of my phone replacing "for" for "fir". Why on earth would the phone think "fir" - as in fir trees - would be more common than the English word "for"?

    Can’t fully delete a beta? Showing up in Share menu, etc.

    I installed Aviary beta thru Testflight about a month ago and decided it's not for me so I deleted it. But now it is still present in my share menu and frankly, somewhere else in a menu but I can't remember right now. To complicate things I left the beta when I deleted it and now when I try and download it again to fix the problem the beta is full.

    I wrote the creator and pretty much got a ¯_(ツ)_/¯ to my first email and no reply to my second. Any ideas? (don't say restart, trust me, I've done it)

    Messages Still Unread on ALL Devices except iPhone 12

    I have probably been on the phone with Apple for I'd say 5 hours discussing this issue. I keep being directed to the next "senior advisor" in the food chain and no one can figure it out.

    My iPad, Apple Watch, and Macbook Pro will have messages as "unread" despite reading them on my iPhone 12.

    Some other info

    • I am updated to the latest iOS on all devices
    • I have tried unpairing and repairing the watch
    • I have reset all devices
    • I factory reset both the iPad and watch
    • I have disabled and re-enabled hand off and message forwarding on able devices
    • I have reset my modem
    • I have messages turned on for my all my devices in iCloud settings
    • and more that I am forgetting

    Do I literally have to factory reset my iPhone 12 to see if this fixes it? The only answer I have seen on Reddit.

    Any help is appreciated!

    About to do a full iTunes backup of my 6s, and restore the backup to a fresh iPhone 11. Is there anything I should be mindful of or worried about?

    Is it really just the simple process of backing up and restoring? I'm wondering if everything on my old phone (particularly photos and iMessages) will be easily restored in the new one, and if this process normally goes smoothly. I'm hoping not to fuck up for my first data transfer, as I haven't gotten a new phone in many many years.

    Also I've seen a lot about encrypted iTunes backups. Should I be doing this? TIA

    Hi guys,

    I just recently replaced my ssd with a owc aura pro x2. I was able to back it up off my external hard drive but when I went to start the laptop up I get the circle with line going through it.

    I have Catalina as my os which is newer than high Sierra. Any thoughts?

    need assistance with iPad

    one day I was chilling on my iPad, and then the internet went off, I thought that was kinda weird, but I thought I was a problem with our wifi, but my computer and my phone and other devices still had an internet connection. I tried shutting my iPad off and on but the internet wouldn't work, the iPad was connected to the wifi but I couldn't access the internet (like going onto youtube would ping me an error message) but I went onto among us and it worked! I could play games and stuff but that's all that works, can someone please tell me why this is happening?

    Same guy again asking about my apple id being scammed, my devices were forced to log out and ive been changing passwords,if the apple id is no longer logged into this device but is still asking me to log back in,can they see the new passwords?

    Persistent issues with my internet speed.

    Hi there, hopefully somebody can help me. My logic board was replaced in October and I purchased this computer in March of this year. It is a 2017 MacBook Air. The Internet is incredibly slow and I have spent hours troubleshooting with Apple both over the phone and online. I did every step that they asked me to go through and finally I took it to the Genius Bar and they were able to duplicate the issue. After looking inside my computer they said all the hardware looked fine and the resolution - they came up with was to install the new operating system. The issues are still persisting. When running a speed test simultaneously with my 2013 MacBook Air on three different networks my 2013 computer is completely fine and incredibly fast but The 2017 model is slow every single time. I don't know what to do and Apple keeps transferring me to their senior advisers who just tell me to go take it back to the store. Nobody is offering me an actual resolution and I don't know what to do next. I have about four or five months left of my warranty and I have barely been able to use my computer because the majority of the work I do is online. I'm so frustrated and I would be super grateful if anybody had any advice for me or anything I can try.

    I took the pictures of the speed test running side-by-side so I have proof that it's something to do with the computer and nothing to do with my Wi-Fi.

    Thank you so much in advance, I feel pretty helpless in the situation after dropping over a thousand dollars on this computer and I can't even use it.

    Original Sales receipt

    Hi all,

    I have this issue with the anti-glare coating peeling off my MBP (Sept 2015).
    Had a chat with Apple support earlier, and the seem to be onboard with repairing (non committal), however they require the original sales receipt. I bought the machine second hand and don't have loads of hope in tracking down the receipt.
    An I out of luck or is there some other way of tracking this down?

    Some of my messages aren't notifying me, while others are. Let me give an example: I text someone hello. They text me 'hey', and then ask a question. I don't get the first message, I just get the question for some reason. How do I fix this?

    Can't delete Messages in Messages app using my keyboard in Big Sur.

    Since I have upgraded to Big Sur, I have lost the ability to delete any messages with they keyboard. The little x that shows up on the right-hand side of a conversation is gone. The delete key doesn't work. Backspace doesn't work. ⌘+backspace doesn't work. ⌘+delete doesn't work. I've tried shift. I've tried option. I've tried shift-option. I can only delete by right clicking and choosing Delete Conversation. Then I get prompted asking if I really want to delete the conversation.

    I'm pretty sure this didn't have with Catalina. Is anyone else seeing this?

    Deleting photos from Mac but keeping in iCloud

    So I need to free up space for the Big Sur update, I have all my photos in iCloud and on my Mac, and figure I can just delete all photos from Mac and then re-sync from iCloud.

    I think I can just go into preferences, uncheck "iCloud Photos", and then delete all my pics. Then I can check it when I'm done the Big Sur update.

    The only thing giving me pause is, I was going through photos on my phone and deleting a few, and I noticed that a day later they are still on my Mac "All Photos". Is this because they are hanging around in "Recently Deleted"? This just makes me hesitate as it seems like the two are not syncing like I thought they would.

    Has anyone else done this?

    How do I see thumbdrive size/used space in iPasOS?

    I feel like I'm on crazy pills here, but I cant seem to be able to see (on my ipad) how big this thumbdrive is and how much space is being used. I am in a situation where I have no access to a computer. This is basic functionality and I'm not seeing where it is. Thanks for the help!

    Creating a New Apple ID without Losing Any Photos, Data, Apps?

    Is it possible to create a new apple id without losing any photo, data, or apps? My mother apple ID account was made by my sister from a while back. Therefore, the login id is not my mother's name. But she does know the password to her current apple id. Since then she had used every new apple product with that Apple ID account.

    Her main concern is...

    • losing her photos that she has currently on her phone dating back from 2011. I don't know if this is on her current apple id cloud, or the actual phone's memory itself. (if someone can let me know how to double check its on the phone hard memory)
    • Her Candy Crush levels. She plays this game constantly and is worried that her progress would be wiped away if she made a new Apple ID account on this phone.
    • Her music

    I understand certains Apps can be reinstalled and and logged in with the corresponding login info i.e. banks, gmail, youtube.

    I accidentally turned off “Show Apple Music” tab in settings, and now “Listen Now” and “Browse” tabs are gone. The option is no longer available in settings. Any idea how to turn it back on?

    Is contact photos supposed to show in lockscreen message notifications?!

    Hey guyss, Idk if I am overthinking this but I believe my contact photos used to show on my home screen whenever I got a text message from someone. I checked today, and when ppl sent me texts , only their name shows up on my homescreen and not their contact pic beside it. When I go to my text messages, there contact photo is still beside them but I am just referring to their contact photo not displaying beside their name when their text message initially displays on my homescreen.. Sorry cuz I am sure this sounds super confusing LOL
